Julie & Brian's Disneyland Wedding (9/2011) Sleeping Beauty Theme

:guilty: That's such a bummer about your old ring. :sad2:

But the one you are thinking of having designed looks beautiful!!! :goodvibes
Perfect with your theme! :lovestruc

Thank you so much ElleinAd, I am glad you like it. I was going to go with a hidden Mickey, but you're right, the rose idea is more me and fits the wedding theme better! :)

I'm pressed for time but I wanted to comment on the tea. There is a place called Ever After Teahouse in Studio City, I have never been there but it is across the street from one of my favorite cafes, Aroma. It is on Tujunga Blvd and looks so cute! I have no idea what it looks like inside, though.

Mindyjoy, I had never heard of that tea house, but it is where Jessica Alba had her baby shower so it must be good!! I am going to go check it out next week and see what they have to offer. Thank you so much, even the name Ever After Tea House is so perfectly themed!! Thanks again, I am working on compiling the info to PM you, so hopefully by tonight!:goodvibes

If it's a celebrity hot-spot I hope that doesn't mean it's too expensive!!! Definitely make time to stop and grab a bite to eat or coffee at Aroma across the street .... it is such a cute little place! And most people don't realize they have an entire seating section in the back, just walk through the bookshop after placing your order. It is like a little garden oasis in the city. :cloud9:

So yesterday was my last day of school so I thought I would start my PJ tonight, but on the way home from school my car started acting up, UGH! At least it didn't act up while I was driving to take my final. So now I have to go to the auto shop after work, but I will take my laptop along so hopefully I can start on my PJ (obsessed, much?) :rotfl:

Please take pics if you go to the teahouse because I would LOVE to see what it's like inside!

OOOh can't wait to check out Aroma, sounds heavenly!:cloud9: I don't think Ever After will be too pricey, tea houses are so niche that they can't go too high or they lose customers. I will definitely let you know once I check it out and I will post pics too. :thumbsup2

:cheer2: Yay for your last day of classes and on to Christmas vacation! That stinks about your car acting up, no good. But way to make a positive spin, it is VERY GOOD that you were able to get to your final without any problems. I hope it isn't anything serious and you get it fixed for a decent price. It seems that multiple things tend to fall on our plates around Christmas time when you need the extra cash!

What are you studying? I :lovestruc your new profile pic, super cute!! I love that you are so psyched about getting your PJ up and going! I can't wait to start reading it!!popcorn::

I sent you the info as best as I could break it down, please let me know if you have any questions about it. I'm keeping an eye our for your PJ!!:yay:

Thank you for the info! It is going to be super helpful when DF and I start discussing budget (in January - boo).

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hijack your PJ with my car troubles. I work from home so I get lonely and sometimes I need to vent ... haha.

BUT, since you asked ... I took my car to Jiffy Lube after work because I Googled my issue and it sounded like it might be transmission related, and just Sunday I got my oil changed and they said I was due for a transmission flush and I declined.:rolleyes1 So I went back (but a different location - closer to my home) and they did the flush, and they also said whoever did my oil change on Sunday really screwed it up!!! They put way to much oil in and it was clogging up something, and is what most likely caused my issues last night! GRRRR, I couldn't believe it!!! I told them I hoped they reported the person at the other location who did it so they could be reprimanded. I mean, my car stopped accelerating on the 101 freeway during rush hour. I barely made it to the shoulder without being hit!!! I kept thinking, noooooo I JUST got engaged and I'm on my way to my college graduation party, I can't die now.

Ok, I'll stop hijacking your thread now ... and start working on my own PJ (finally)

No worries hun, it is totally not a hijack, I asked because I wanted to know. For the record, you can vent anytime! I have had my car completely die on the 134 as it turns into the 101 and it was so bad, people were speeding up right behind me and then swinging over into another lane while honking, it was embarrassing but also so scary! Glad you made it to the shoulder! Oh no, glad you went to a different Jiffy Lube and they were able to fix it. It is so hard to trust those places, especially when something isn't done properly.

Graduation party?! Congrats!! I didn't realize when you said last class, you meant for good. I assumed it was the last class of the semester, LOL. YAY, can't wait to read your PJ!!

My dress for the bridal shower came in today. I purchased it at PinUpGirlClothing.com It is so perfect, 50's style and full, in the wedding colors with that awesome retro feather look. Here is a pic:

Once I get it pressed, I will model it for you. :)

Seriously gotta LOVE Etsy! I just purchased the Disney font bridal rhinestone transfer set from PeaceLoveRhinestones. I got 1 Disney Bride, 1 Mother of the Bride, 4 Bridesmaids, and 1 Maid of Honor. I debated Flower Girls, but I am just going to get them princess shirts (Aurora and Cinderella- their favorites) and use standard pink letter transfers to write flower girl on them.

I also ordered black tank tops from Hanes.com

I am going to give them to the girls the day before the wedding with their other goodies. I am hoping that they will wear them to the rehearsal, that way it will all be a bit uniform, it will also look nice in pictures.

Oh I love PinUpGirlClothing so much, I got some amazing things at thier warehouse garage sale over the summer. This dress is so pretty!!!! It's a perfect tea party dress!

I saw the shirt transfers on another PJ and fell in love with them. They are so pretty, I can't wait to see the final product. I will be getting one for at least me and my mom, for sure. Then I'll have to figure out a Groom shirt for DF since I'm assuming he won't wear rhinestones. :rotfl:

Yeah, I hear that. What is it about rhinestones and glitter that most men cringe at? :rotfl: My df is going to wear this for the rehearsal:

It is from Disney Shopping.

They also have the matching Bride shirt. I think they are super cute. Especially the groom shirt, glad they had something Disney, but subtle enough for him to want to wear.

Glad you like the dress!! I :lovestruc pin-up girl clothing as well. Their day dresses and swimsuits are super cute!! I didn't know about their big sale. Was so busy at the resort over Summer (WOC, etc.) working 70 hour weeks that I only had time for sleep mostly, no online shopping. :sad1:

I will definitely post pics when I am finished with the tanks! ;)

LOVE the party dress! I feel like you are really lucking out with finding things to match your theme! Horray! :thumbsup2

Add them on Facebook. They do yard sales at their warehouse in Monrovia every couple of months. They had one just this past Saturday but I couldn't go because I had to study for my final. :sad1:

Thank you so much. Waste enough time surfing the web, it is amazing what one can find, hee hee. I do feel super blessed. I realized the other day though that one perk of having pink and blue pastels as our wedding colors is that they are used for baby showers too. I have found several favors, decorations, etc that are versatile and they're plentiful. :yay: I almost actually bought some its a girl pink pastel Hershey kisses until I realized the little papers actually said It's a girl, LOL:laughing: Glad we noticed.

Mindy! I am so adding them on FB right now. I always forget about all the goodies and special sales and things through companies via FB! Awesome, I am keeping an eye out now. If you ever want a shopping buddy when they have their events, I am so down! ;)

Yeah, you'd be on my route to Monrovia so I'll swing by and pick you up,

I seriously got the cutest shoes at the sale, 3 pairs for $60. :worship:

So I don't know what to do. I received a message from one of my bridesmaids today, her boyfriend is also a groomsman and it just said to call her because his job won't let him off for our wedding and theirs. They want to go to Vegas to get married alone (very clear about that) on 11-11-11. I know I had to postpone and things, so if they didn't want to recommit at that point then that was fine. Now I have ordered her BM dress, etc and they have discontinued the dress. I don't know who else I could ask at this point and it throws the colors off. The only plus is that it is 2 less floral and 2 fewer meals, but I don't even care about that. I will be super sad if they bail and don't come at all. What should I do? I am also kind of a baby when it comes to confronting people. My friends tell me I am too nice, because I let things go, but this is my wedding. I think it will be too hard to let go. Help please.

Julie, what can I say, except that really stinks!!!! I hope someone with some real life experience can give you some advice. I've experienced my share of having friends bailing on plans and leaving me with the bill (not nearly as important as a wedding, but still). I feel it's irresponsible to make a commitment to you without making sure she could keep the commitment, you know? Have you talked to her yet? I know you're upset but maybe there is more to the story, or maybe there's still a way to work things out. You have a lot of time and you never know, maybe the dress could be altered to fit someone else, someone who lives locally and is unemployed, maybe? But seriously, you have a lot of time before the wedding and I bet you can work something out, either with her or with another girlfriend. *hugs*

Mindy, I took your advice and I calmly pulled myself together and called her. She said she is still trying to work things out but she is pretty sure they can't make it. It is his job that is giving them an issue so I asked if she could at least come and she said that she has never traveled without him so she isn't sure how she feels about it. I am angry and hurt. DF is ready to let them go as friends if they do this to us. I don't know what to do. She wants to keep the dress b/c she paid for it, but if she does that then there is no way I can have someone fill in for her because they discontinued the dress. Grrr, I guess at least this far out is better than closer to the date. DF already has someone lined up to take over for the groomsmen spot. Without the dress, I'm not sure what to do and because it is already a certain size I have to be cautious about who I ask, if I can convince her to let me buy it. Ugh, I hate feeling like a bridezilla already. OK thank you so much for your advice and for listening.:goodvibes

I did order my tiara today, it is from the Bel Air Bridal collection and I love it! If you are out in California you can stop by Glam Gal Designs Bridal. Beverly is super helpful and she has some awesome products, some at much cheaper than commercial sites and you get personalized customer service. I also found this necklace:

Initially I had wanted this one:

Which one do you like better and which do you think is more Princess Aurora-esque?

I would think you have every right to buy the dress back, that way if you find a new BM you have the dress ready. I know the whole situation is a pain in the rear but at least you are now finding out who your true friends are. :confused3 If she doesn't understand the predicament you are in with the dress being discontinued and allow you to buy the dress back, then I just don't know what to say about that .....

As to the necklace I like the first one better!!!! They are both really pretty! Are you going to post a pic of the tiara?
