Julie Andrews will be doing a book signing of her autobiography, Home: A Memoir of My Early Years:lovestruc
http://psc.disney.go.com/eventservices/disneygallery/dlr_julieandrews_booksigning.html

I will be there April 7th-8th with my family enjoying the 2fer deal but I have an annual pass so I'm going to see if I can sneak over there.

She will be signing at the Main St. Opera House 1pm-3pm:cloud9:
If I can't buy her book (available at the Disneyland Gallery) I'm brining my Mary Poppins DVD case.

Anyone else going to be there?!

Ahh! Why did you tell me this! I'm going to be wishing we were taking our trip earlier! :wizard:

Hahaha, I'm sorry prettyprincessbelle! I just found it on miceinfo.com
You should check it out and see if anything cool is happening when you are going.

If I could promise you that I would get you an autograph, I would but it's not definite yet.

Aww, thank you! :goodvibes That would be so awesome if you could!! :flower3:

I was watching the Sound of Music the other night and was thinking to myself I heard somewhere that Julie Andrews was going to DL or already went, but I couldn't remember..

I hope you get to go!!!

I SO want to go to that, but it's in the middle of the day and I have to work :(

Wait, I thought she was already there? If I'm wrong (which it appears I am) I'm going to be sooooooooo excited!!!!! I love her and the kids love Mary Poppins and the Sound of Music.....oh wow, we ARE going to be there that day!!! I wonder how this will work, I've never been while something like this is going on.....Thank YOU so much for posting this!! We are there the 6th-9th. :)

Aw man. Us too. We are going to be there the week after. That would have been neat.

I emailed it to DBF, he's all excited too! YAY!!

I was thinking of Jane Seymour who was in CA earlier this year for some art she had done.

YAY for meeting Julie Andrews!!!! I love her!! And my girls will be so happy to meet the real Mary Poppins. :)

I am so bummed. I love her. I am not going till Sept though.

What website did you find the info on? I tried www . miceinfo . com and that brought up a sight for petsupplies.

Well there have been talks in my family
talks about NOT going next week :sad1:

If anything I'm stealing my little sister and we are having a sisters trip! I don't care what my parents say. I want to go!

I can use my Disney Rewards Dollars to get her the 2fer ticket if need be (I hope not!;) )

And we'll stay at my uncle's house :goodvibes and go to DCA the next day (or vice versa)

I'm going to be there next week during that time, but I didn't want to take the chance of missing her due to uncooperative children, so I bought an autographed copy online this morning. They sold out of the online copies in 11 minutes. I thought I read on the site about the event at Disneyland that she would only be signing copies of the book and no other personal items, so I'm not sure taking a case from a DVD for her to sign will work.

biolabetty: I got my copy too online since my trip to Disneyland is only in December. I'm so happy that I was able to get one after all! I kept on getting the message to refresh my page since their was too many people on the site but finally got through :cool1: Do you know how much copies they were selling online? Just curious to know how much books got sold in 11 minutes!!!!!
Thanks!

You have no idea how hard I tried to switch our trip around so we could be there for it. DH figures it's probably for the best though. Put my first (and probably only) trip to Disneyland with meeting Julie Andrews (who is the #1 must meet celebrity for me) and he thinks I would have imploded or something. ;) If nothing else I guess I just have to buy the book.

phisigprincess: I'm sure their will be other opportunities. Did you get the autographed copy of her book though? I was lucky enough to actually see Julie Andrews in person once but without meeting her. She and Christopher Plummer were doing a tour of a xmas show in Ottawa and I got good tickets for the show. It was truly amazing just to see her not to far from me, forget about meeting her, I think i would DIE!!!!

I'd like to know how many copies were available online too. I started trying to get into the site at 7:55 A.M. Pacific time, and I was already getting the message that it was too busy. I thought they weren't supposed to open sales until 8:00. It kind of reminded me of trying to get Candlelight Processional tickets, I had more than one window open, and I kept refreshing and refreshing until I finally got in. Except when they do the Candlelight sales online, they don't allow anyone into the site until the time they say it is supposed to open. I wonder what time people were allowed to start purchasing, was it before or after 8:00?

I was there at 7:50 and got the message that it was not on sale yet and then at 7:55 I got the same message as you saying the site was too busy. So I assume they DID went on sale a bit before 8am (sometimes between 7:51-55) which is TOTALLY unfair. :offtopic: I didnt know Disneyland had the Candlelight show! We will be in Disneyand from Dec 10-20, do you know if it usually plays during those dates? Does it play every day like at EPCOT? The tickets you are referring too, are they dinner package tickets? because at EPCOT, the show is free but if you get the dinner package you are guaranteed to get a good seat....THANKS!:thumbsup2

Candlelight is usually the first Saturday and Sunday of December, and there are only 2 shows each of those days. The tickets were a dinner package and you had guaranteed seating for the show, but getting the tickets for DL's Candlelight is one of the most difficult things to do. The past 2 years they have been sold online only, starting on a certain date at a certain time. They sell out VERY quickly, and both years the server crashed pretty much right after they went on sale. Last year, I kept getting to the reservation page, thinking I was guaranteed a spot, only to find out that after I had submitted my payment, those times for those restaurants were sold out. I finally managed to get tickets, but it took me about 45 minutes of constant refreshing and total frustration.

It is obviously done quite differently at Disneyland. Fewer performances (only 4), and you don't know who the narrator is until weeks before the performances. They don't even promise that there will be tickets available for the public, but usually Club 33 gets places. I've felt like my tickets were gold whenever I've managed to get them.

Thanks for your answer. Whooa, it does sound like a nightmare!!! :scared: I'm sort of happy (in a weird way) that we wont be there on those dates, cuz, knowing myself, I would have gone crazy trying to get tickets.
