"Judge Alex" question

OK, I admit it - I love Judge Alex. It is my true guilty pleasure.
I thought the show was filmed in Miami as I thought that is where Judge Alex is based.
Today someone said "here is Houston" in their testimony and JA said Victor is a TX police officer.
Anyone know anything about the show?

Judge Alex is a United States syndicated courtroom television show that debuted September 12, 2005. The host/arbitrator is the Hon. Alex Ferrer, a former police officer, lawyer, and Florida judge. The show is produced in Houston at the television studios of KRIV-DT. (The opening credits depict Ferrer before the Pasadena (CA) City Hall.) The show was brought to Twentieth Television by Executive Producers Burt Wheeler and Sharon Sussman. The pilot was shot at Tribune Studios in Hollywood, California, in November 2004. The series began production in January 2005.

Judge Alex began production on its fifth season (2009-2010) in February 2009.
