Jude has Passed Away.

When he saw where he was, he perked up and couldn't wait to get inside. He liked shopping. I thought that he had already emptied his bladder and he hadn't been incontinent before, but just riding in the car, getting out, etc must have loosened a blood clot. We no sooner got about 30 ft inside of the store when he had a huge "accident". It was so bad that a couple of people thought that he had been seriously cut. I asked one of the staff for paper towels so I could clean it up. He, and another young man only had concern for Jude. They would not permit me to even help clean it up, asked if there was anything else they could do to help, comforted Jude and they couldn't have been nicer.

What a nice story in the midst of such a difficult time. I'd say those two deserve a little something "from Jude", just so they know they made a difference. They'd probably each enjoy a little basket with hot chocolate and chocolate chip cookies or something. It might help your grieving too.

I remember when one of my dogs passed away, the circumstances were strange, and I wrote a long letter of thanks to the young vet who was kind enough to come out to our house to put him to sleep for us. (Our vet wouldn't "allow" us stay in the room with him so we had to find someone else last minute). We only met him twice (he was moonlighting at a local clinic, and left shortly thereafter) and to him it wasn't a big deal, but it sure was to us.

Funny how these people come along when you most need them.

I haven't posted on any of your Jude threads before, but I have followed your story (in a non-stalkerish way, of course). Your, and Jude's, story has been near and dear to my heart for several months. My dog was diagnosed with cancer in June 2009, after many many visits to the vet. She underwent radiation over the summer and then both chemo and a cancer vaccine this past winter. We knew we were fighting a losing battle, but were still hopeful. She died on Monday, January 25, 2010. I miss her every day. But I am also relieved that she is no longer suffering and can finally find peace and comfort.

I am so sorry to hear of Jude's passing. I also stayed up with my dog all night the night before she passed. I hope you can take comfort in remembering all the good times you had together. You have both enriched each other's life and are better for it. My condolences.

So sorry about Jude, what a beautiful boy. Although you're extremely sad right now, I'm sure you have much comfort in knowing you were all there for him as he made his way to the other side.

That is what gave me some peace when I said goodbye to our "girl" last year. Although we prepare ourselves, the hurt is the worst just the same.
