I feel like such a DIS loser. I can't believe I haven't seen your TR. Jen had to tell me about it. LL = LOSER.

I need a red flashing light next time you start a PTR/TR, okay?

Cause I think I did this last time too. Oy!
Anyhoo! Sounds like a great start to your trip minus the cold but hopefully it was completely gone when you woke up.
And you need to come back and tell us your news! Details, Details!
You aren't a looser!!!

No worries! Next time I will find a red flashing light for ya though.

I haven't been back to your TR since last week now though, ugh...cannot keep up! I see your weight loss ticker now - SO EXCITING! CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Definitely better than no trip! That is awesome that he was so occupied on the plane! Hopefully Aaron will be that way when we go to AZ in November for a wedding.
Yes! Aaron still sleeps like that too! I am glad there is still a part of him that is still a baby!
Oh My GOSH! I want to say CONGRATS! How I wish I could quit my job!!! Do you have another one lined up? What do you do? Or do you not have to work anymore since Joe is now a certified nerd
Well, the quitting the job didn't have to do with the certified nerd thing-he didn't get a pay raise (yet) for that - possibly in the future, or at least it opens him up to be more marketable should he ever change jobs/companies!
I bet Aaron will be much chiller with his carseat-it's familiar and comfortable, I think that helps a TON.
Sounds like a great start to your trip minus the cold!

on a great flight with Henry! That is so awesome that he will sit quietly and watch Cars- we will have to try the DVD thing on our next trip.
Henry is so cute all curled up in his car seat!!
CSR looks beautiful. I have been there once for a convention, but I didn't stay in the hotel. I remember walking around on breaks and wishing I had stayed there! I look forward to seeing more pics!
Exciting news about your job! You sound very happy about it!

Are you going to be a SAHM?
You guessed it right, SAHM!
I felt bad in a way just allowing my baby to watch Cars like that for near the entire flight, but he was happy, we were happy - so, it was a good move. At home we restrict the Cars watching quite a bit more (much to Henry's dislike!

)
OH NO, I knew it, I'm late! I was wondering if you started your TR so I went over to your PTR and saw the new link! I am ashamed.
Time to catch up!
No worries! You are here, and you truly haven't missed much at all!!
I cannot believe I missed the start to your TR. I'm so happy I'm only a little late. It looks like a great start so far, minus the fever and junk Brook. I'm taking the three older kiddos alone in December so I admit, I am very nervous about getting through security alone with them. Wish me luck with that. I cannot wait to hear what is up with you quitting your job! I hope it's good news!
Hoo man...3 kids through security! I will be wishing you luck, sending you prayers and pixie dust!

You'll make it though, might take more time, might be a tad more frustrating than normal, but just think what's on the other side...a plane, waiting to whisk you away to Mickey's House...
Wanted to join in and say that I am looking forward to the rest of your Trip Report. I have a son who will be 2 in November and we are starting to toy around with the idea of a WDW vacation in January. Your Henry seems so layed back compared to my little guy. I wish Maclaren (my son) would sleep like that. He rarely falls asleep anywhere other than his crib. He doesn't even fall asleep in the car late at night...crazy kid. That picture of Henry curled up in his stroller was precious!! I absolutely dread the thought of a 12 hour flight though.
Does Henry sit through a whole Disney movie? Maclaren hasn't done that yet. His favorite show is Wow Wow Wubbzy on Noggin(I know... GASP, it isn't Disney!!), and he will watch that until we have to turn it off.
Eagerly awaiting your next installment and your big news.
Dawn
Hi Dawn! Thank you for reading!!!! Henry is a pretty chill kid. He has his nutty moments, but overall-he's always had a relaxed "go with the flow" type attitude. A 12 hour flight would be VERY difficult with a little one that won't fall asleep in his car seat...

Would he be OK sleeping in the pack & plays at the resorts, or would sleeping for the entire trip be an issue? If you think he'll be alright when you are settled in your room-I'd risk the 12 hour flight, just be prepared with a lot of distraction devices and snacks! This trip we bought dollar store items and wrapped them up. I only had to whip out one on the flight (after Cars ended) to distract Henry. He was THRILLED with just ripping the paper off.

Then oooh, a prize inside too! It was a good 15 minutes of distraction.
The only movie Henry will sit through is Cars. And he'll ask for "more" the second its over. We watched "Horton Hears a Hoo" the other night and he did good, but got antsy when we were about 20 minutes from the end. Is the Wow Wow Wubbzy available on DVD? Maybe getting some of that for the 12 hour flight would help too...
congrats on your decision, Brook. I loved being home with my DDs when they were young.
Thank you! I am really excited about it all. I'm a bit nervous at the lack of structure, but I know I can create structure in my days....
I just have to do it....
Well, congrats!!!!
That is truly awesome, it sounds like you guys have thought this out and it sounds like the best thing for you!
I am very glad for you. It is very hard to not be there for you child. I am kinda thinking about a similar thing (I'm the Daddy, and it is slightly different, but the end result is the same...)
But, now what am I going to pick on you about, I was having so much fun....
I'll think of something!
Awesome for you guys!
Oh, and congrats on your hubby's Nerd Cert! I am jealous!!!

You had me laughing at all your comments!!

We have thought about this for a long time, and I even went back and forth myself a few times. But now the "quit" side has been winning for about 2 months solid. I was thrilled when Joe ran all the numbers over and over and each time he came back with the same result!
One of my co-workers was a Stay At Home Dad for 5 years - he said it was a great thing for him and his family.
I'll be sure to pass on the Congrats to Joe...
