years ago when my youngest was 6, my sis and I took him, my nephew and my niece to WDW (no hubbies, no teenagers :) ). When I got home I made my sister an album (wish I would have kept it) and I did something different I wanted to share here.

I did all layouts in 2 page format. On each 2 page layout I placed four journaling boxes in four colors. Sort of scattered amongst the pics. Since the book was for my sister I only included spaces for her two kids, myself and her. Each of us had our own color journaling box and I kept it constant through the album. Then when I was done, I wrote my memories on my color, my nephew on his, my niece on hers...and then we gave it to her for Mothers day and she wrote in her memories. On the last two pages of the book we each got a spot to write about something that didn't have pictures related to it, like something said in the car or at bedtime etc. It is absolutely one of my favorite albums of all time, and I wish I had the smarts to repeat that journaling technique in other albums....dah. I would love to have things written in my sons handwriting. maybe this years trip to California.....maybe...;)

Just thought I would share since it was a great way to include the family in the scrapbook making. Hope someone can use this tip. :)

VERY cute idea. I'd love to do that with my dh, but all his journal spots would be blank.

Great idea...and Lindababe the ABC books I gave to the three kids and DH 2 years ago for Christmas are still not journaled by them... I keep reminding them... now they are gonna be miffy when they have to journal 2 books after this trip! Teach them to procrastinate... Do what mommy says; when mommy says!:teacher::idea:
