Journal to use at Disney

I did have it printed and bound by Staples. They were reluctant to print it. When I mentioned that I got all of the clip arts on the internet from sites that said they were OK to use in any form, but not OK to "sell" them. I told the mgr that I was just printing 2 for my children. He was OK with that explaination and had the print center print it for me. Now, this is not to say they will for you. However, my plan was to go to Staples, then Office Max, then a local printing if one did not print it.:rotfl: Prehaps start at your local printer (they won't have a problem at all not being as large of company as Staples)

Kinkos probably will not print them. They are very strict (a friend of mine is a manage there). They will bind the pages if you already have them printed though!

Krista- I just started printing and wandered what your final journal dimensions were after they cut it? Mine is not printing out covering the entire 8.5x11.

thanks-
Heather

They do have a margin in Photoshop and don't print to the edges. I think mine turned out something like 7 1/2 x 10 1/2? I had them trim them at Staples (they only charged me $2 total) Otherwise I would have just trimmed them at home on my scrapbooking trimmer. I really liked this size, because it was easier to handle and seemed more professional at this size than the reg 8.5 x 11.

I Love It!!!!!!
May I Borrow Some Of Your Ideas????
how did you design it?

Yes go ahead, these are for everyone to use. I'm glad you like it, that makes my day!! I used Powerpoint (because I have really no Idea how to do layers on Photoshop).

Ok after trying on my own and really sucks at it! I decide to "borrow" yours and translate it for my DD and changing a bit of stuff for her (like drawing instead of pictures...) I hopyno't mind. I really  it a lot. Have a great day

Go right ahead... It took me forever! to get it just right!:thumbsup2 That is why Power Point is perfect for everyone to be able to personalise themselves for whatever there trip and ages they have.

WOW!!!!

Unbelievable!!! GORGEOUS!!!

It looks like I'm going back to Staples - I just had two autograph books cut and bound there last week. lol

I am going to use it for my DD and DN. My parents own a printing business so they are going to help me bind and cut it.
Thank you so much for letting us use your talent!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the kind words. That is nice to hear.:goodvibes

sahlink,

I believe you said you had these done at Staples. I looked into Staples & Office Depot and the price doubled compared to what you got them done for! Yikes! Please let me know where you got them done! Can you try to help me break it down price wise?

Anyone else, how are you or have you put them together?
Thanks!

OK, no problem. :goodvibes

First make sure you sign up for the Staples Rewards card, this will save you 10% on any printing/etc. Staples charges 49 cents per page to print colored paper. I brought in my own 28lb paper for them to use (Otherwise they charge loads more) I bought the paper at Staples a couple months ago and it worked perfect for this project. So I didn't count purchasing this paper in the project. I think that are about 23 pages to print (you do need to tell them exactly where the "pockets" will be if you are doing pockets because some of these pages are not printed back to back.

Secondly it was $2 per cut, for the edges (this is where it may get spendy?) He charged me 2 cuts. Now I couldn't figure out why he charged only two cuts seeing there were more. My luck!! Otherwise, if it was going to be alot for them to do this I was planning on taking them home and trimming them myself. Either using a paper trimmer or a sissors. Ask them how much if would be before you have them do it.

Lastly, binding and covers. This is where it gets fuzzy. (I don't have my receipt and don't rememebr exactly) I think maybe $2 to bind, and $1 for cover $1back??

23 pages x ......$0.49 = $11.27 x 2books=$22.54
Cuts (2) x$2= $4
Binding(2) x $2 = $4
Covers(4) x $1 = $4

minus - 10% off a portion

Should be around $30, plus tax for 2 books to print.

What kind of cost are you getting??:confused3

:surfweb: I love this, it is so pretty and well done. My dgs wants to do a journal when we go to WDW in Sept., and this is perfect. I am having a problem downloading it, I get it downloaded but I can't get it to do anything except be a slideshow. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance for your help.

This is a PowerPoint document, so there is a capability to have a slideshow view. But there should be many options to view. Do you have PowerPoint on your computer? Is so, find the square-ish button on the lowerleft hand side, click that and select end show. Then it should take you back to the main PowerPoint program (simialr to MS Word and so on). Perhaps that is worth a try.

I really love your book and think that I am just going to have to borrow the idea. It could probably help at school with me taking her out for vacation. Perhaps she can get some credit for doing "homework" on vacation.
Anyway, we'll be going to Mickey's BarBQue. The picture will work, but how can I change the wording? I don't have powerpoint.

Also, can you explain how you did the pockets a little more? I'm just not very clear on that.

does anyoen have one that includes the cruise and disneyland?

I'm working on a book, using power point. it is unbelievable simple. I'll be doing some Disneyland pages, but it's a slow process for me.. as work gets in the way. :)

Mine will cover the entire trip.. several national parks, ect.. I'll post it later, probably a week or two away, before book #1 (of three) will be done.

How great!!! I would love to see when you're through! Feel free to post here...

I love it! We'll definitely use it for our trip this September. You are unbelievably generous to share this with us!!!! THANKS!!!

What would you like the wording to say? I will see if I can find a different clip art to go.
