Jordyn's Journey to Disney-(MAW) Make a Wish Trip - Starting October 4th, 2013!!!

We received some exciting news today! We officially have our dates for Disney World! Yay!!! I am sooo excited! We will be leaving for DW on October 4th, 2013!!! I am so happy and ready to start getting our plans together! I have never been to Disney and so this will be quite the incredible trip for our little family, since only my husband has been to Disney Land before and he was a little kid then. I am excited for my kiddos to actually do something fun that we would never be able to do without Make a Wish and the people who support them and their help!

Jordyn went to clinic last week and here are some pictures from that.

Notice her fun curls in this last one! I am so happy that her curls came back! I think her hair might even be more curly than it was before it fell out because of the chemo!

Hi,

I found your trip report!! :surfweb: YEAH!! :goodvibes

I love what you have posted so far. Your story is very inspirational!!! I also love the pictures of your little ones. I especially like the ones with the flower arrangements, the dance recital, the Wishing Place and of course the clinic pictures with the sweet curls coming back. Hurray for curls!! :cheer2: What a beautiful family you have. Thanks for sharing!!

I'm glad I was able to help you with editing posts. Please feel free to ask any other questions you have... I am happy to help. I am so glad that I found the DIS boards before our trip as the great people here really helped us make the most out of trip!! Keep posting and reading as you have time I'm sure it will be a great experience for you as well!!! :grouphug:

My husband is from Utah so we plan a trip a couple times of year. In fact my wish child, Mallory was baptized up there in June. He is from Logan, so I'm not sure how far away that is from where you guys are, but I do love it up there.

I can't wait to hear more about your plans. I saw that you were going to take a look at my thread. In the 1st post is a table of contents that spells out what each post is about. You might want to take a look at the over planned trip plans and the Disney family movie nights if you get a chance.

Happy Planning!! :yay::banana::banana::banana::yay: I can't wait to hear more!! popcorn:::surfweb:popcorn::

Thank you for your help with my thread! I am glad you found it too! I am trying out this quote thing right now just to see if I am even doing it right or not...

Logan is kind of far from here. It is way further north. We live south of Salt Lake. That is awesome you guys came all the way to Utah for Mallory's baptism! You probably have more family in your church here than you do at home? Logan is very nice, I agree.

I read your trip report. I didn't read all of it, but everything about your actual trip. I liked how you posted everyone's favorite parts of each day, that is super fun and also helpful to those of us who are planning our trip so we know what other people thought were can't miss things to do. Your family is very cute, and I am impressed with your son and how willing he was to go along with the fun on the trip seeing as he was a teenager. He seems like a good kid. Your crafts for your movie nights were super cute. It makes me want to plan all kinds of fun nights. Hopefully I have enough motivation to do it, because I think the kids would love it and it would be a good memory for them. Your report was fun, and I think I may have actually laughed a few times from your humor.

Thank you for welcoming us to the disboards!

I am also excited because last night we made reservations for a character meal! We will be eating lunch one of the days with the princesses at Aukershus (not sure if I spelled it right...) It is so exciting to have such a fun experience through MAW to look forward to! I just know Disney World and Give Kids the World will be incredible! :goodvibesIt feels good knowing my kids can experience something like this. They have missed out on so much because of Jordyn's low immune system and her nasty chemo treatments. My heart is so full! :) :yay: :love::love::love:

Hi again,

I'm glad to hear that our Trip Report was helpful. :thumbsup2 You know I did the neatest thing... Once the Trip Report was finished I turned it into a book. I used the table of contents from my 1st post and published each of those posts to a company I found online that binds them in a book. It is such a nice keepsake.

The movie nights were fun I wish we would have done more. What I did try to do was show her each of the Disney movies she had not seen. We went to Goodwill and bought the old VHS tapes that we didn't have. I even tried to find the Three Caballeros because I had read about the ride at Epcot that it was based off of. But I did not have any lucky with that. We still totally loved the ride!!! :cheer2:

Thanks for the sweet comments about our Trip Report I'm glad you liked it. I'm glad that it gave you a chance to laugh. We feel very blessed to have a son that is so easy going especially with all the medical issues. You picked up on it... He is an awesome big brother.

We drive up to Logan so we must pass you guys on are way up there!! :rotfl2: Yes are right we had her baptism up there because of family.

I'm so excited that you get to do a character dining. Akershus sounds a lot like Cinderella's Royal Table which is where we went. Maybe you saw that before we took Mallory to Cinderella's Royal Table she got a Princess Makeover at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. princess: Mallory is a girly girl and was a little older, so I'm not sure if Jordyn would like that or not, but it is something you can think about.

I know what you mean about your heart being full!!:cloud9: I can relate. I remember everything was so GREAT it seemed surreal!! Enjoy!!! :dance3:

I'm excited to hear more of your plans!! :woohoo::yay: I'll check back in soon!! popcorn:::surfweb:

The book idea is a great one! What a fun way to be able to remember such an amazing experience! :)

We actually just went to the DI the other day and bought a bunch of vhs Disney movies we didn't already have, including some movies that are sequels to the originals. Now I just have to plan out some fun activities and snacks and such to go with the movies. :goodvibes

Jordyn would LOVE doing Bippity Boppidy Boutique. She is a super girly girl and loves dressing up and LOVES makeup. She is almost always in costume around our house. princess: The only thing that makes me nervous about doing it is that my son might feel left out... He won't quite be 3 when we go, so he wouldn't get to do the boy version, and he is very much a little follower when it comes to his big sister. He adores her and everything she does and wants to be just like her. I feel like he has already missed out on a ton of fun things, plus he is always in Jordyn's shadow because everyone is always so concerned about her and her cancer that sometimes he gets forgotten. :scratchin I don't want him to feel bad that he doesn't get to do something fun that his sister gets to do, but I don't want her to miss out on a once in a lifetime experience, you know? I am kind of in a very thoughtful place trying to decide what the ultimate decision will be.

Thank you for being so sweet and helpful! We really appreciate it! :wave2:

I have an idea for you. The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique that is in Magic Kingdom is in Fantasy land... so your husband could take your son on some rides while your daughter gets her makeover. This way he is not just standing around watching her get pampered. princess: Or if he is still taking naps maybe you could wait until he falls asleep and do it then.

Good luck with the movie nights. I can't wait to hear how they go!! :surfweb:popcorn::

Thanks! Our plans haven't been doing much this last week, but we had a good week! :thumbsup2 We went on a little trip because someone let us use their timeshare, so the kids and I, and my sibling and my parents all stayed there. Jacob couldn't come, but we still had fun and got some good swimming and other fun things in. It was good to relax a bit, and I got some breaks from the kids which doesn't happen often, so it was nice to have some me time also. :goodvibes

I am getting excited to get back to trip planning now that we are home and have better internet access. :cool1: Now I can start planning some movie nights and such! :woohoo:

Here is a question... How do I quote multiple people in one post?

Oh, and here are pictures of the kids on our little trip. These are some of the only ones I got, lol! :rotfl2: We really tuckered them out!

I love my little ones, and they are especially sweet when they are sleeping! :rotfl:

Tonight we had our first Disney movie/craft night! I wish I could find my camera... I know I have it somewhere, I just have to find it. These two pictures are still cute though. We watched The Little Mermaid, and we ate sea foam (otherwise known as cotton candy), and the kids colored pictures of Flounder.

The funnest part was making crowns. We made an Ariel crown for Jordyn and a King Tritan crown for Jeremy.

I will try to take more pictures on our next movie night...

Adorable!! I just love the crowns!! What a cute Disney movie night!! The sea foam idea is very creative and fun!!

I'm glad you guys got to get away for a bit!! I love going to timeshares (my mom gives us weeks when she can't go). We stay by the beach, go to Legoland, do the great kids activities with the kids and relax!! A nice low key vacation!!

Can't wait to read more!!

We did a Lion King movie night tonight. :happytv:I have decided our movie nights will most likely all be fairly simple, but I think the kids will love them anyway. :) Jordyn is already excited for the next movie night!:thumbsup2

The kids made stamped animal pictures with animals from the Lion King.

Dinner was supposed to look like lions. I suppose I will never be a food designer... :rotfl2:

We had "grubs" for dessert. I think that was the favorite part of the night. I thought about doing it in pudding, but didn't quite get to that part...

It didn't quite turn out how I had hoped, but I am very happy the kids had fun and loved it anyway! :cool1: I think they are really enjoying a little out of the ordinary fun. pixiedust:

Love the pictures of your children enjoying movie night. I think simple is better, the highlight is the movie. :goodvibes

Love your movie nights! Looks like fun! I think the dinner looks like lions! Better then I could do!
