Joovy Caboose Ultralight as a Wheelchair

I think I asked this question, but somehow it dropped off and I can't remember the answer (nor find it in another thread!). Anyway, my 2 year old son has various developmental delays, including physical. He's unable to stand or walk, so we need to use his stroller as a wheelchair, which I know I can get a GAC for. However, we're planning on bringing our Joovy Caboose Ultralight stroller, which is a sit and stand. We have a 5 year old daughter and would like to have an easy place for her to perch if she gets tired, which she's very likely to.

According to the website, the stroller measures about 21.5" wide, 38" long. Is that going to be small enough to take through the queues? I know there's an ADA limit. I feel like it has to be smaller than an ECV, but doing a 3 point turn in a store in the mall today made me realize that I should confirm it before we get there. :lmao: Any help or advice is appreciated!

Of course, my little guy is a bit spoiled, so I'm concerned that the whole thing will be moot when he refuses to ride in the stroller all day, preferring rather to be in the baby carrier!

Yours will be fine.
A wheelchair needs to be no more than 30 inches wide and 48 inches long. So, your stroller is well within the size.

In fact, most of the queues are actually wider than 32 inches (more like 36) and since an ‘average’ wheelchair is considered to need 5 feet to turn, you won’t have any problems.

We have found some stores to be a little tight with DD’s wheelchair, but have no problems taking it thru lines (it is 24 inches wide and about 48 inches including the backpack on the back.

Excellent, thank you! I'm relieved that it should fit. I'm sure we'll get some looks for bringing it in line since it has room for our daughter too, but it really works best for our family. DS tends to get a bit anxious too if we're stopped for too long in a stroller (he likes to keep MOVING), so I'm hoping I can keep him distracted in lines, are things like Cheerios or sippy cups allowed in line?

You will be fine with both the stroller and the cheerios etc. I have a sit n stand (the fisher price one) and it works great in the ques. I think it is bigger than the Joovy. Have a great trip!
