Pop sensations and teen heartthrobs the Jonas Brothers are returning to Nashville on Jan. 4 to play a surprisingly small venue: the Ryman Auditorium.
Joe and Nick Jonas told The Tennessean that the band is aiming for a casual, "unplugged" kind of show at the Ryman, similar to its recent last-minute concert in Los Angeles after the American Music Awards.
"The show was amazing," Joe Jonas said. "It had a really cool, loose vibe, with us playing covers of some of our favorite songs, and inviting our friends to come up and play with us. We were just having a good time with our fans, and thanking them for what an amazing year this has been. We didn't get to hit Nashville on our tour this summer, so we decided to come and play there."
"We like to play shows when it's just solely about the music," Nick Jonas said. "Being able to get up there and just have fun with our band that means the world to us. Touring with big productions is always so much fun, but when we get to break it down to a real intimate vibe with the people that are there, that's always a great time."
To Joe, intimate shows like this offer a "nice change from the big rock thing."
Guests planned
The brothers last visited Nashville in 2007, opening for Miley Cyrus at Sommet Center. They headlined previous concerts in Nashville, but that was before smash successes like Camp Rock and their third album, A Little Bit Longer, made them one of the biggest pop acts in the world.
"I remember there was one time we played at the Ryman, and we didn't sell it out," Nick said. "Hopefully, this'll be a little different this time."
The brothers hope to have some special guests join them at the show, but won't divulge any more.
"We like to keep surprises surprises, if you will," Nick said, "but I think some people might be joining us."
The brothers say Nashville's an ideal fit for a concert that's all about the music.
"Nashville's such a great music city, and we haven't been there in a long time," Joe said. "We wanted to do something special for all our Nashville fans that have been waiting for us to come back. Any chance we get to play our music and have a good time with friends and fans is something we always want to do."

Hm...well I've heard rumors on oceanUP. Like something about Nick being Selena's rebound guy? Not that oceanUP is reliable 100% all the time...

But maybe you can find them somewhere else? I just looked at the official website.
Because that's just the way we roll.
] and the music playing was just like classic rock songs, and then all of a sudden Burnin' Up came on! I was like yes! xD
