Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of this day for some reason.
Well, here we go. We woke up at 4 a.m. yes I said 4 a.m. We had to get showers, clean the house, get dressed, pack up Jonah's equipment that we were going to take with us, get Jonah up and dressed, and load the van before 7 a.m. We were only 10 mins behind schedule by the time we left, which when traveling with Kristian is a good. We had to get gas and breakfast on the way to the airport too. One our friends was taking us and picking us up so we wouldn't have to leave the van at the airport for the week.
We got to the airport around 8:15 after we got everything we needed. Now our flight leaves at 10:30 and we still have to get checked in, and get through security with Jonah's equipment and supplies. It took us about 10 minutes to get unloaded. We had Jonah's chair, suction machine (doesn't count as carry on) his book bag with his formula and extra supplies, one other carry on that had cameras and extra clothes. Then we had 3 checked bags that had clothes and more of Jonah's supplies for the week. We get to the check in counter and we were the only ones in line. The airtran crew at this airport was awesome and we were on a mostly empty flight. They had some take our checked bags after they had the tags put on them. They crew chief saw Jonah in the chair and his MAW shirt and went into action. We got upgraded to first class. We were bouncing off the walls at this point because we were going to be flying comfy seats and actually have some leg room. So now it's off to security. Yes this is what i had feared all along with trying to get Jonah and his stuff through. We get to the x-ray machines and of course have to take off everyone's shoes, unpack all the formula, luckily i had put it all in a big zip lock bag so i just pulled that out. If you can recall, Jonah was getting over a nasty cold at this time so I had packed all his OTC meds too and had to pull that out. We had to take his suction machine out and let them inspect that. Kristian went through the machine first while i waited with off to the side. Then I had to go through metal detector OOPS forgot to take off the MAW pin go back through. Then find Jonah and Kristian again and help hold jonah so he could get a pat down. Then the testing of the liquids came that's another 10 mins of my life gone and Jonah still hadn't got his breakfast yet. It ended up taking us about 45 minutes if not longer to get through security at this time. Everything got checked and was o.k. so we pack everything back up and head to the gate. I have enough time to get Jonah's diaper changed and get him fed before loading. We have an uneventful flight to atlanta. I'll tell you about first class later and if we are fortunate enough to get upgraded again for our flight to atlanta to orlando.
