Read more carefully, I don't care if they pee in the sand. I said, why carry a nasty potty as an intermediary? Just let them pee (10 times) in the sand.

I don't care if Kate didn't go up in the light house, but don't stand around the bottom making smarmy comments about the information they are trying to provide about the lighthouse. She just doesn't appear that bright. What was up with the jellyfish? You'd have thought there was a beached whale.

The Crayola and Day out with Thomas episodes really did it for me. She is abrasive and rude to the "general population" trying to participate in the same activities she is. "Coming through, eight kids here." And that poor conductor...what must have he and his family thought when they excitedly watched the episode he appeared in, then she made those awful remarks in the interview chair.

You guys may have missed the episode of Jon scrubbing dried pee out of the floor of the van. I don't know what's up with them and "buckets". Pee, poop and throw up in the toilet...indoor plumbing is great.:woohoo: I wish nothing but the best for the family, but I'm not supporting them by watching any more.

I grew up on the coast.

Ever tried to pee on the beach? It's a tad windy... I think the potty was the best idea. What if it was one of the girls that had to go?

Hey Everyone:flower3:

Im a new addict to the show (a serious guilty pleasure).

I just noticed on a site that I go to--popsugar.com that the Jon and Kate clan are in Hawaii filming. They have a shot of everyone--they are renewing their vows. Cant wait to see that episode!!!

Is there anyone on television that you could say you relate too?

JMO - but I think it's an unreasonable expectation to think you can relate to someone who appears regularly on tv. It may start out that way - and that's the "hook" to get you to watch. But I don't think anyone who appears in the spotlight is relatable these days.

I agree, which is why I do not watch a lot of those shows. They are like circus sideshows, not normal lives. Jon and Kate Plus 8 was different. They used to be an ordinary family and seing how "regular folks" deal with having so many kids was interesting to me. They were so real and so down to earth. That's why I liked them. Not anymore.

I guess that was the hook, but I'm not so hooked anymore.

I use to love the show, but now it's like watching a train wreck. Potty chairs (for 4 yr olds) being dumped in dunes...why didn't they pee in the dunes? Quit giving the kids all that juice and maybe they'll quit peeing so much.

Bibs, sippy cups and high chairs for 4 yr olds? Why do they need a bigger house? All the kids will end up in one room anyway; kids don't "spread out." I thought WDW and crayola were bad, but the beach trip took the (sugar-free, organic) cake.

They "love" horses but the kids say "00h"and won't get near them at the house they looked at. I love how bored Kate was in the bottom of the lighthouse reading about (imagine this) lighthouses. Just like the day out with Thomas, they really wanted to make this educational.

And don't forget "the sun sets everyday...let's move along." Does she not look at the episodes and see how neurotic she is? Jon is a Saint, and she seriously needs help (not a "family helper" to boss around, but medical help) or the kids are going to join the circus.

I usually lurk on this thread but this comment really got to me. Would you rather watch the kids cry because they are thirsty? I don't understand why you wouldn't want the kids to stay hydrated :confused3 Do you tell your children that they cannot have anything to drink because it may result in an extra bathroom stop that you hadn't planned :confused3

People who want to complain will find SOMETHING to complain about. The kids have to pee stop giving them so much to drink. You limit their drinking because of lack of potty, you are accused of abuse. You put a bib on a 4yo and you are treating them like a baby. You let them eat a messy food and it gets all over their clothes, you are now "letting them" get all messy. Their is nothing this family can do that is not nitpicked.

I watch the show and enjoy it. I laugh at how neurotic kate can be. I certainly wouldn't want my life taped and condensed to a 30 min show.

Thanks for the info. I went to the site and checked out the pic. I can't wait to see that episode!!!

I am not upset, but I am totally jealous (sort of kidding)!!! They have made quite a life for themselves. Jon can now stay home and they get to do all of this traveling, and now they get a huge house built for them. They will have their college education for the kids paid for, etc. I would say they are very very lucky. I think this is almost entirely due to Kate's personality. She is the woman many people love to hate and rip on. That makes for a popular show. Look at the Duggars. Those parents weren't nearly as interesting and they are probably still scraping by financially.

I'd like to add that even when these kids are older, people may stay tuned just to watch Kate.

I guess that is one big thing I don't understand. Why are people so upset with what they are getting either in money or other means of compensation. Of course the network isn't taking a loss on it. the Money comes from advertising.
Would those that keep complaining be happier if the network kept a larger percentage? Somehow i really doubt it. they would find something else to ***** about.

Jon and Kate the early years (she has mostly dark hair, they're showing the tummy tuck stuff) is on right now.

Watch and discuss.

Wow - how far back did you go to dig up that hateful post?

We get it - you don't like the show. Turn if off then.

I got to watch the girls day out show yesterday for the first time (doing the ceramics). What a good show. Kate really enjoyed herself, wasn't stressing over messes and the girls all lokked like they were having so much fun painting.

Jon at the gym was funny too with his comments about Kate and how she was probably freaking out over messes! I enjoyed this episode a lot.

:thumbsup2

That's the great thing about cable/dish and remotes, all it takes is a click and bam you've got lots and lots of other shows to watch.

I also don't know anyone with a nanny, or anyone who gets any (let alone all)of these things for free.

Yeah, I don't know anyone who has all this stuff either...but do you know anyone who has agreed to put their life on TV for the rest of us to look at and talk about.

I don't get over here much anymore and just started reading this thread. My dds and I LOVE this show and it has become a guilty pleasure. At first I thought Kate was abrasive and then I began to watch and really think about her life. I'd be barking if I had 6-4 year olds and 2-8 year olds, too! Yes, they are afforded nice things - good for them! We watched the first episode today (recorded from Monday.) Kate was still working as a nurse doing doubles on Saturdays to make ends meet. If I had 8 kids and someone found my life interesting enough to tape I'd do it, too!

Anyway, I agree completely with the above poster.

You are so right....IMO, jon and kate getting freebies is no different than the freebies offered on any other reality show, celebrity or otherwise. Like, on the real world on mtv...they always went on a great trip or (trying to think of the bazillion reality shows out there...). Or big brother guests winning tickets to movie premieres, shopping sprees, etc. I'm sure there are more but I can't think of it. Hopefully you get my point.:)

I also don't get the Jon is a Saint thing either. I mean he seems like a nice guy...lots of the same qualities as my husband. But the thing that drives me crazy about my DH seems to be one of Jon's faults also. He doesnt move fast enough to deal with three kids. I end up snapping at him becuase I ask for help. You know something like--"can you make the kids a sippy of milk." By the time he does it I could have milked a cow.

IMO Kate is blunt. I don't think people like blunt women.

I almost wet my pants!!! Maybe it's all men??? :confused3
