I think the thing that is starting to bother me about the show is that it no longer seems real to me. It started off being about (what I felt to be) a very real family, with a very real marriage, dealing with real issues that anyone could identify with. While I do not have 8 kids, I related to their sturggles to raise their kids, spend quality time with each of them, juggle work, and pay the bills.
Now they are going to the spa, working out with personal trainers, getting hair plugs, getting their teeth whitened, have a paid nanny, ect. They go on outings every week where they get special tours, private trams, and wait in no lines. They just don't seem real to me anymore. This is no longer a look into an Amercian family's life, but rather a show about a family cashing in on their 15 minutes of fame.
The kids are adorable and there is always something cute and funny that happens in each episode. For now, that is enough to keep me tuning in but I'm not sure how much longer it will hold my attention. I don't begrudge them any of their due, but the show certainly has changed. I highly doubt that I am the only one losing interest.
