I agree - I like the kids, I like Jon but cannot stand Kate.
No doubt her life is tough but she acts like she does everything and gets no help and Jon gets absolutely no credit at all for the things he does.

I also think it's very telling that Jodi had 12 kids in that house while Jon and Kate were away for Jon's hair replacement AND several of the kids were very ill. Life with MORE kids and Jodi seems much calmer.......

I think Kate's anal retentative nature/OCD makes her life harder and she gets no pity of sympathy for that from me.

Wow, that blog was something to read! I just feel so bad for Jodi - that whole gum incident was just horrible, and it has really made me look at Kate in a negative light. Did anyone notice in the episode where Jon took the boys golfing that Kate said, "When are we moving to a warmer climate?" and Jon yelled back, "SOON!" I thought, are they really moving away from all the friends and family support they have? Maybe it would make sense after all.

Money changes people, that is for sure. It ruins friendships and families, and if that blog is true, it's ruining the Gosselins.

I've been a loyal watcher of the show but I have to say in the past season I found myself shaking my head and wondering what else they were going to sell their family out for. They get clothes, teeth whitening, plastic surgery, trips to Disney, now hair replacement?? It's a bit disgusting actually.

Now this thing with Aunt Jodi is very interesting and I can totally see it happening. I hope they saved up the money they have made so far. I think I'm done watching the show. :guilty:

I am very picky about who watches my kids, and I must say, I would leave them with Jody in a heartbeat. (ok, maybe not b/c I dont know her). That poor lady! I really feel badly for her.

I'm not sure what I think about that blog. I'm not really sure what the blogger's true motives are. And because I have a younger sister I know I would stick up for them and probably believe what they say versus someone else. We don't know that Jodi told her sister the absolute truth and didn't try to spin it a bit. I hope the kids will still be able to see Jodi and Kevin. There are two sides, or more, to every story and this is just one person's view.

I still like the show and still like Jon and Kate.

All I got to say is OF COURSE they are being paid (well) for the show. That is a given, not sure who would do such a show and NOT get paid?

Did it bother anyone else that Kate painted (I think it was Leah's) bowl? Instead of letting her paint it ? I mean WHO CARES if it isn't painted "right" or whatever. I would much rather have the not so "right" painted bowl that my 4yo made for me then to have a "nice" bowl that I painted.

I agree. As I was reading the blog I had to wonder how Jodi feels about her sister airing their dirty laundry all over the internet. I understand the sister's motivation is to protect her little sister. But I have to wonder what other agenda she has. Reading that blog, it's like she is directing her comments to one person in particular. Who that person is, I have no idea. Although she alludes to them being a minion of sorts of Jon's.

I don't know. I found the whole blog to be rather strange. Who knows if this person is who they say they are. But, honestly, why do I even care. I am a fan of the show. Period. I watch the show to see the kids. I don't watch it because of Jon or Kate and certainly not Jodi(although she seems like a very nice person).

I'm suprised that someone who appears on camera and onscreen as much as Jody wasn't paid. That's crazy. She'll be on the Dvd's and everyone else will get paid. Hopefully as is with child actors the money that the kids would get is going in to an account for when they turn 18. I don't know how it works with reality tv however.

I do think that the kids are now a business for them. I remember Kate saying, we could do this show forever (or something like that). Who wouldn't want to get paid for doing what they are supposed to do anyway? I love the kids, but I don't like Kate.

unfortunatly the laws are very weak on kids in reality shows and they vary state to state (driven by the child labor laws). in some states if the kiddos are'nt 'performing' they are'nt considered employed so they have no protection regarding working hours or compensation (they get deemed as 'participants' with no legal protections:sad2: ). given the number of hours in a single day that those kids are filmed (even if the footage is'nt used), and how restrictive child labor laws in almost every state are for kids that young-i gotta think that the financial arrangement is written very specificly to keep the kids out of the loop.

on a positive note-since the disaster of 'kid nation' and the way those kids were filmed 24/7 with next to no compensation more states are re-visiting their child labor laws as they pertain to reality shows and taking steps to protect children whose parents opt into these. kudos to those child performer protection and watchdog organizations that are pushing for this:thumbsup2

I think that was for the sake of time because at the rate that child was painting it would have taken 4 days for her to finish.

Can I ask how we do we know for sure that this blogger is really Jodi's sister. What proof is there?

ITA!!

With all the negativity that was seen on the other thread on the DIS for J&K, I'm not surprised someone started that blog. They can control everything they say on it. I have been on the TLC Forum boards, and threads have been locked and shut down concerning Jon & Kate. It wouldn't surprise that a poser has started this kind of blog.

Once again, Kycha, I totally agree with you!:thumbsup2 I enjoy watching the show. None of us can truly know what goes on behind the scenes - it's none of my business and I don't care. The show is enjoyable.

I'm still looking for the proof that this blogger is really Jodi's sister. Once again, anyone can pretend to be anybody on the internet. Alot of people here and on other message boards continue to post things as if they were fact, when it's actually just opinions and rumors. Again, don't believe everything you read on the internet. If you want to believe it, then I suggest you stop watching the show.

i.m.h.o.-something that i'm sure the gosselins knew was a means to keep medicaid from considering it as income so they could stay eligible:mad: )-only to find out after the fact that a 'wealthy couple' (not named but i'm wondering if this is beth and her hubby?) had been financialy supporting them for months prior to the email and were continuing to do so without knowledge of the email and the additional funds generated. the 'icing on the cake' was jon and kate's later admission to family that all along they had a substantial savings account that they chose not to use because (the same mantra she used in her medicaid appeal:sad2: ) 'we should'nt have to, it's society's obligation-we have 8 kids':scared:

i dunno what will happen with these kiddos-i have to wonder what impact such a life has on them (does anyone else watch this show, and as i do-am reminded of the movie 'the truman show'?).

Again, I know you're just stating your opinion, but I want to point out that Beth has stated on the show that she didn't meet Kate until after the babies were born and home from the hospital - she had volunteered to be a "feeder" to help out. So if she had just met them, I highly doubt she would have been immediately financially supporting them. Makes no sense.

I bet it came from Jon's father. I'm sure when he passed (which I think was when the tups were babies) he left quite a bit to his kids and grandkids.

I have always been a Kate supporter, and I have ignored the negative comments about her, but this Jodi thing really has me thinking. If it is true (and how can we really know?) it would be enough to make me stop watching the show. That would be beyond greedy and self-serving. The way Jodi has been treated by Kate on the show, with the camera running, has been bothersome. I've also wondered why Kate doesn't watch Jodi's kids ever (at least, not that we are shown). If Jodi can watch 12 kids, why can't Kate? The greed and materialism that this show has become is turning me off. I still love watching the kids though.

I am sure we are shown maybe 1% of their lives. I mean they show a "day in the life" and we get to see 30 mins - 1hour. Yes they show Jon & Kate arguing. Kate flipping out over gum. But would you really watch a show that had not "drama?" Drama is what sells, why people tune in. How boring it would be to watch otherwise.

makes sense to me. people were being solicited for monetary donations long before the birth of the children. i can easily see someone who appears to be as generous as beth and her husband stepping up to the plate quickly if they perceived the family was in need.

btw-it appears that the book they have coming out has been delayed, and changed to some extent. originaly it was being promoted as being co-written by kate and beth, now the credits (and the cover) have been changed to include john as an author.

Jon should be listed as a co-author of the book. I'm sure he had input into the stories/memories/etc. that make up the book.
