Jon and Kate Plus 8. Official Thread!!

I think Kate takes A LOT of flak for stuff that most of us do at one time or another with fewer kids to chase around. I like to think I'm a darn good mom, but I have moments where I look back and think...wow, ok, that was NOT such a good mom moment. And as far as one of the kids getting ice cream all over them? I would be annoyed too. I HATE when my kids get stuff all over them when we are out in public or going somewhere. I just hate seeing messy kids so I don't want my kids to be one of them. It's just one of my things. And if I had 8 kids to take care of and keep track of, I'm pretty sure I would come off as uptight too!!

What about that beach day? That had to be the most horrible beach day ever! :rotfl2:
I felt so bad for the parents torn between the twins wanting to stay and the babies flipping out. ;)

My DD was one of the FGMiT that worked on them at the Boutique. It wasn't all peaches and cream... :rolleyes1

Wow, I don't know what FGMiT is :confused3 :rotfl: BUT, one of the twins always seems to be having issues, so I can imagine ;) I thought the "lady" at the casting place they went to was quite interesting

I could really relate to that! We live about 10 hours drive to the beach and when we went with our kids that were 3, 8, and 10, our youngest had the same reaction as the twins. It was horrible because our oldest 2 loved it.

I could not imagine how it felt to have 6 crying like that when just our 1 crying at the beach and wanting to go home was terrible

I thought that casting lady was a piece of work. LOL I just wanted to get them out of there...in a hurry!

Does anyone know if there are more new shows coming? I noticed that Little People Big World mentioned the show last night being their last show for the season.

I know Little People Big World is coming back, because they are going to address Matt's "suspicion of drunk driving."

Maybe the web site will have something.

Oh! I just love this show!

I don't know how they do it. After watching them for an hour I was tired.

The kids are just too cute. I love it when they look at the camera and talk. I just fall apart.

I really hope you choose not to "spill the beans". I can't imagine that it would be that hard for management to track which FGMit's worked on these children and I think it is quite unfair to tell tales out of work on someone who can be identified like this. JMHO

I do love this family and as I have stated before, heaven help any parent who has a camera follow them around filming their parenting skills for all to judge without seeing the whole thing.:rolleyes1

Oh please, without that camera following them around there wouldn't be a trip to WDW or a lot of other things the family has gotten. They're allowing the camera to be there so they'll have to live with the criticism. Kate needs to lighten up so badly. She's the one that sets off so many of the issues we all see on the show. I give John a lot of credit for putting up with her.

BTW, I love the show as well.

Has anyone gone to Discoveryhealth.com and voted for their favorite episode, (the winner to be aired Dec. 29th)? The Disney episode is not in the running. I voted for the 4th of July episode and it is in 2nd place. The potty episode was in 1st place. Is this the one where she takes pics of the poop?!

I love Jon and Kate. Yes, Kate has her issues, but she would probably have those types of issues whether she had 2 kids or 8 kids. I liked her comment when Nana was watching the kids. She said that Nana tries to break up every little thing with the kids and said if they tried to do that, that would be all they were doing every day.

I was looking at another messageboard about their show and there is such downright hatred for Kate. One poster even mentioned that they could not believe Child Protective Services hasn't gotten involved :scared1:

I don't understand why people that hate a show so much would spend so much time watching and then talking about it on a messageboard :confused3

Iv'e never met a parent that I have agreed with their parenting style 100%! Heck, I even question my own style at times and wonder what the heck I am doing wrong when my kids mouth back at me and what not :headache: ;) I enjoy the show and there must be enough others that do since it is still on the air. Now and go and vote for your favorite episode!! :cheer2: :rotfl:

I love Kate and her family. And anyone who critizes her parenting should spend just one day in her shoes.

The only thing that really, really bugs me is when she said her kids won't always have everything and they sacrifice other things so they can eat organic.

They do have everything! From what I can see, they live in a massive house with a huge yard . A house, that I will never own in my life. They have 2 cars. They go on tons of trips. Their kids receive free haircuts. She got a free tummy tuck. Her kids get tons of other freebies like Gap clothes and the Petal Rose cottage.
I really don't see any sacrifice.:confused3 ?

Just a reminder that the new season starts tonight on TLC. :yay:

Yay! I can't wait! I keep laughing of the preview where Kate says "What's your problem?" and Jon says "You." :) :)

I had hubby watch an episode with me and he posed an interesting question...How is their household any different than someone who runs a home daycare or a preschool teacher? A lot of daycare/preschools have the kids for up to 10 hours a day, but aside from getting ready in the morning and getting ready for bed, there isn't much difference. How often is Kate on her own with the kids, anyway? It always seems like there is someone there (either Jon or a friend, relative, or sitter) I don't know, I thought he brought up a valid point...
