After the ice cream I kept thinking to myself "Oh honey, you are so close to your hotel - take those kids back for a nap and a swim!!!" - otherwise I loved watching this episode. I think Kate is great!

We watched it on our DVR last night - this was my sentiment to my DH. I turned to him and said why didn't they take the kids back to the hotel for a nap and a swim. Going commando with 8 little ones is a sure way to have multiple meltdowns.

I am usually a Kate supporter being a mom of multiples myself. I did struggle with the ice cream incident and especially with the fact that the producers asked her if she thought she over-reacted and she said No. No? Seriously? That bothered me a lot. Kate really isn't in tune with how she behaves sometimes.

Watching Maddy be fresh and bratty was difficult.

I love when Hannah was helping fold laundry. She kept looking up at the camera with a little proud look, like she knew she was doing something great. And then when Kate talked about it with such reverence, and said, "What a dear baby."

That was so sweet! I wish my kids would want to help out like that and they are 7 and 9! :rolleyes1

I wonder if the crew could only stay one day, but then they had to be driving with them for the crew to help them at the first hotel.

I didn't understand the logic of leaving at 5:00 p.m. Stopping at 2:30 to sleep. I know they broke the day up so they were only in the car 9 hours at a time. It just seemed strange to pay for a room at 2:30 - 6;30. Plus I don't understand why the little one's just didn't go to the bathroom at the hotel. They are 3, they should be able to use a large toilet.

Kate doesn't want them using "public" restrooms. :rolleyes1

How nice of her SIL to help out!! I loved the part when they were talking about her scaling to the way back of the van. He loves her butt :lmao:

Yeah, 'cause putting the cooler in the front of the van would have been too easy. :rotfl2:

That was so sweet and adorable! She was so proud of herself!

What a sweetie she is! :goodvibes

I find the show pretty interesting. Those kids seem really behaved to me. I would love it if my DD4 would just go sit in time-out when I ask her, instead I must drag her. Kate needs to come out with a parenting book because I would love to know how she get her kids to be so disciplined.

I don't know if anyone else watched tonight's episode. It was never before seen footage. Which included more Disney footage. Jon and Kate took the older girls to see Cirque du Soleil. And it is obvious they stopped at Bibbidy Bobbidy Boutique. The girls are totally decked out with their hair all done. So, there was more to their trip than just MK.

I watched it last night, wish they'd done more WDW and less travel stuff.

That woman is nuts.

The one kid was crying because she had to wear her Mickey ears. Not fun for the kid, not fun for the mom, not fun for anyone who has to witness it. So, why exactly does she HAVE to wear the stupid ears? Because the mom decided they were all doing that. Why not just let her not wear the dumb things?

Then the little one spills ice cream on her shirt and the mom is saying, "She's ruined! She's ruined!" Seriously? Ice cream has ruined the kid? She's all upset that the kid might be sticky for the rest of the day. BIG WHUP! Kids are washable.

These kids are LITTLE! I know she really has her hands full...but what is she going to do when they are older? If she thinks a little ice cream ruins the kid...well, she's really going to be in for it later.

IMO, the woman, the husband and the kids would be a LOT happier if she'd just calm down and put things in perspective. Things happen. Kids get sticky. Relax, mom!

I watched it, I noticed that the girls did go to Bibbidy Bobbidy Boutique. I think they looked really cute.

My DD was one of the FGMiT that worked on them at the Boutique. It wasn't all peaches and cream... :rolleyes1

Let's just say that Kate was her less-than-magical self and there wasn't quite the level of production planning needed for filming in the space they had. DD said that the show didn't do Kate justice...:scared:

I really hope you choose not to "spill the beans". I can't imagine that it would be that hard for management to track which FGMit's worked on these children and I think it is quite unfair to tell tales out of work on someone who can be identified like this. JMHO

I do love this family and as I have stated before, heaven help any parent who has a camera follow them around filming their parenting skills for all to judge without seeing the whole thing.:rolleyes1

What I really like about this show is they show this couple being themselves. They don't try and hide it when either dad or mom get crabby or irritable with the kids or each other. This is real life stuff in a home with that many little ones and my gosh, if Kate gets a little up tight every once in a while....say over ice cream being spilled on a shirt and that's the worse frustration that she exhibits then in my opinion she doesn't need to lighten up. In fact, she could teach parents with one or two kids a thing or two about patience and coping.

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 ITA. My DH and I did a baby story and a follow-up "where are they now" episode and I made the HUGE mistake of checking out the web board on TLC. I was brought to tears when I read that people thought that we weren't loving enough toward our children. It was awful.
All of these shows are edited and it isn't a walk in the park being a parent to multiples. DH and I were honest about some of the difficulties and that apparently made us terrible, unappreciative parents to some. Kate is a little ;) type A and could stand a lesson in how to loosen up but I cut her a break because she has a ton on her plate and all in all I think she and Jon handle it well.
