Jon and Kate Plus 8. Official Thread!!

Anyway, like I said in my first post, I was watching something else first and it came on. I enjoy TLC, HGTV, Home, and other channels that provide entertainment in the form of self-help and educational material that is interesting and relevant to alot of our lifestyles. I did not mean to sound like a snob, but she offends me as a mother. Maybe I notice her facial expressions towards John more than others do, and maybe I notice the lack of attention except pottytime towards the kids more than some. In any case, the show is not for me and I am moving on from the subject immediately to help prevent further agitation to myself from those people who insist on liking a "mother" of eight babies whose lives revolve around their "mother's" incapabilties. I hope you other moms of eight or more are more capable, it truly must be hard for all of you to have the camera crews hanging around, or wait, DOES childbirth come with camera crews for EVERYONE, or just Kate? I am so confused now. Oh, and a question, where can I find one of those great cages for my 5? Here I've been playing, reading, even going to the park with them, totally unaware that they would be better off rounded up until potty time. Oops, gotta go, Get the camera, honey! NOW!! Quit playing with those toys, what good are you? Somebody just pooped and we have to get it to editing!! Want to be a great mommy!

You obviously watched the ONE show where she was potty training. If you bothered to watch any other shows you would see the kids playing in the yard, playing games and puzzles with Kate, going to the pumpkin farm, going shopping etc. They are not penned up in a cage 24/7. I think you have issues with the one episode you watched. It also sounds like you might be a tad jealous of the attention Kate is getting.

If you are talking about the playards--they are sold at Babies R Us and are available through One Step Ahead.

I think they are great as a baby proofing tool and was considering one due to the configuration of my home making traditional gates difficult to use.

I wasn't aware that babyproofing was a sign of a horrible parent.

I also welcome you to the DIS. Are your 5 quintuplets? If not, then I can file your opinion with the rest of the folks who aren't able to walk a mile in the shoes of whom they are bashing.

You would have equally hated last night's show. Daddy and the family made her breakfast in bed and she had a day at the spa.

Exactly. They've shown Kate playing games and with the kids in several of the other episodes. Each 30 minute episode tends to focus on one topic or issue. Its clear that the other poster doesn't like the show, so why they are posting here I don't know other than to pick apart Kate. I'm sure the other poster wouldn't across as the perfect mother either in an edited 20 minute show. I think Kate does a great job dealing with all that stress and commotion that goes on in the house. Her home is clean and her children seem happy, healthy and well loved by both parents.

I watch from time to time and really think that Jon and Kate seem like real people. They seem to do the best the can and that's what we all try to do. Goodness knows, I get cranky and overwhelmed with life sometimes--and that's with one nine-year-old!

I also really like this show! I am amazed at what life is like with all those little kiddos! And certainly I think both jon and kate are doing a terrific job! But I also try to keep in mind that on any reality show there is always "heavy" editing and things can be made to seem a certain way for entertainment value. I think that TLC is running with the whole "clean and organized" thing (even though I admire how clean and organized she is!) and might be making it seem more compulsive than it really is. The same with the fighting b/w jon and kate and even the older twins behavior. So I take it with a grain of salt!

But I can't WAIT for the episode when they go to disney! Did anyone see Kate's countdown calendar for the kids! Wonder if she is a dis'r!:lmao:

I wonder too! ;) Does anyone know what month they were in Disney?

Me too. I hope they took someone along with them to help them with the kids. It was quite the challenge for them at Dutch Wonderland and WDW is a lot worse. I wonder if they stayed on site and at which resort. I really can't wait to see that episode, but it probably won't be until the start of the next season. TLC likes to keep us in suspense.

I bet that had some sort of Tour Guide or something?

It was July 29th that I saw them in MK and yes, they did have help with them as well as the camera crew.

They had a private meet and greet at the top of the Rose Garden and there were a bunch of suits with them

When I saw her count down calendar, I wondered too if she is a DIS'er, but I can't imagine that she finds time to sit down at a computer. Her husband, now he just might be, since he is a IT specialist.

Did I miss the Disney show. We've been watching Antiques Road show since they are in Milwaukee. I can't believe I forgot about this show.

nah...if they were Diser's they would have planned the trip for a low attendance period and before the babies turned 3 so they could get in for free and all squeeze into a value resort:laughing:

OK, we get it, honeygirl. Kate is an abuser and you are Mother of the Year. Still, I know which one I'd rather have my kids around, and I haven't met either of you in person....

I love the show and think she and Jon do a great job.

When is the WDW trip going to air? Did I miss it?

From looking at the schedule of episodes the Disney one probably won't be until the next season.

I've enjoyed the last couple of new episodes. I thought the one where they went to the farm was cute though I had to close my eyes during the chicken part because I *HATE* chickens. ewww. I liked the one where they went to Chocolate World. I love the part in the episode where they were playing in the Cottage when Collin tried to put the baby in washing machine. :lmao: I also liked in last night's episode when Mady was whining about the babies and Hannah (I think) said "We're not babies."

Oh wow! I was thinking that some Dis'er must have saw them!! Cool!
