Jon and Kate Plus 8. Official Thread!!

I just found out that our church is going to have J&K there in May. My dd and I are planning on going to hear what they have to say and to see what they are like in person. I like the show but my DH does not.

Cara and Mady are taking music lessons. Cara on piano and Mady on violin. The commercial was funny with one of the sextuplets running out of the room holding his ears.

Any thoughts on the episodes about the Utah trip?

I felt so bad for Kate and the kids on the plane ride out there. I thought it was great to see Jon happy and having fun snowboarding. It was fun watching the kids try skiing. The skating was fun too.

Tonight's episode with the music lessons looks good.

Yes, there is still a J & K thread floating around! It's Monday again! Time to watch!! Hope this stays friendly enough to not get locked.
Anyone know what the show is about tonight?

Since I started this thread-I am going to keep a close eye on it. You can disagree with respect-but no way is it going to be a bashing/debate thread. Debate board is gone. Has been for 5 years now.

I was so happy that Cara was able to shine on that episode. She seems like such a good little girl, but the camera is always on Mady because of her outbursts. Cara was awesome with the skiing. I'm glad Kate made it out to the mountain to see her.

does anyone know when the episodes re-run?

I fell asleep last week and already took Tylenol PM tonight so I'm not gonna make it!

I had this thread on my subscription list; thought of bumping it up after the other was closed but was afraid of starting another WW!

I don't mind people voicing opposing opinions, but hopefully it won't get crazy like the other one did.

BTW - My daughter and I love the show. Yes, Kate can be a psycho sometimes, but I think she's a hoot; Jon and the kids are adorable. Think there's alot of love in that family.

On the show tonight I saw in the corner of the living room to the right of the piano what looked like a small dog crate...does anyone know if this is a new pet, has it been mentioned on the show at all? I saw John once lean over the fencing that was around it...or so I thought?

I know they use fencing around their Christmas tree and I think this episode took place around that time. Cause when they were bringing the piano in the Christmas tree was in the kitchen. But it does look like they have a humidifier or something in that corner. Maybe they were using that since everyone was sick.

i should know better then to watch the show when dh is in the room:rolleyes:

when kate kept complaining that jon was breathing too loud and he finaly held his breath dh was like 'keep holding it guy, go towards the light!":rotfl2:

then when kate said she realy does'nt mind 'doing the laundry' but then followed up with how she has to get it 'done' by a certain day because the one woman comes over to fold it, another comes over to do all the ironing and a 3rd puts it all away for her, dh just:rolleyes:   :rotfl2:

DD13 and I were dying when she told Jon that he was breathing too loud. :lmao: I love both of them, but couldn't help but wonder how controlling you would have to be to complain about how loud someone is breathing! LOL DH had a few choice words for her too, but I can't say them here. :)

I hope that Maddie isn't as horrid as they make her out to be on the show. I just cringe every time that child opens her mouth. I know she is just a child but I just can't stand how she acts. I think I would be in jail if she were mine.

The little ones were so adorable. I could just squeeze them in two!

I thought Maddie came across better in this one (in the cooking class part anyway) where she was introducing the camera person, chatting with the other kids (and didn't even blink about what team she was on etc).

The laundry thing is different but we all know she likes to cook so she's not going to ask friends for cassaroles (plus lets face it that would cost those ladies money) folding/ironing/putting in drawers are all chores that are time consuming but "free" for someone to do for her (ie cost time but no money for the person doing it). What would it take each on of those three ladies an hour an hour and half? so that would be 4.5 hours for Kate (plus of course time for interruptions from the kiddo's if there's no other grown ups handy).

I for one would let my friends help me and I think she's smart to have thought of a job that helps so much but doesn't cost them anything and yet manages not to have anyone touching anything "dirty". (Like say cleaning a bathroom would be or washing floors etc at least clean laundry is just that clean!)

Thought Jon was pretty "loose" and funny last nite. He had us cracking up throughout most of the shows.

I really felt for them though when those kids got sick with the flu!:scared1: Can you imagine?

maybe i'm not skilled at it but i can't imagine folding 7-8 overflowing large laundry baskets in as little as an hour and a half:scared1: my lord, just dealing with sorting and bundling all those little socks would take me forever:sick:

hey-did anyone else catch it when jon got home in time to take the girls to the cooking class and he said that now that he has his 'own' buisness he can make his own hours or just work from home? i thought it was only recently he left a job to go to work for beth's husband:confused3 :confused3

I heard that too. Thought he said something like he got to "create" his own business. I think he was able to do that "through" Beth's husband.

BTW - does anyone know what Beth's husband does? They have got ONE BIG house.

I noticed that also about jon saying he was in his own business....very strange..

My DD8 was sent home from school yesterday with the stomach flu. I can't imagine having 8 kids all sick with it! :scared1:

I did feel sorry for Joel having the lay on the laundry room floor. :sad2: There are other ways to contain the mess and still be able to keep him comfortable. I wanted to scoop him up! I was glad to see Jon move him.

DH repeats over and over when we watch that he could never live with Kate. The more I watch, the more I see that it's the way they interact with one another. I don't think either of them take it too seriously. And while I might not have said anything on camera, I have been in meetings with people sitting next to me who were breathing heavily, and it is VERY annoying.

Oh my goodness! I just kept thinking about how horrible it is when I just have my older DS puking. Six of them? I just can't imagine dealing with that all at once.

Very cool! You will have to report back to us how it was :)

Thanks! Great idea :)
I had to watch the later aired shows last night and fell asleep during the 2nd episode :( So were both of them new episodes???
