I can't BELIEVE that! I had no idea Kate was so greedy!

I'd say it's all a matter of who you ask ... there are at least 2 sides to every story where JK8 are concerned.

I know this has probably been hashed out and re-hashed out here...but I have skimmed through the thread, and even clicked on Jodi's sisters blog, and I still don't understand what happened that caused Jodi to break off....I didn't see the episode with the gum...but read about it...was it over that? was she hurt by how they acted about that on the show?

Can someone link me to the info...or give me the short version? So no Jodi now? The are estranged from the grandparents and families, so are they down to camermen , a nanny (that puts laundry away on the side), and the neighbor that they use and abuse to fold ALL of their laundry? Are their any other people in their lives? Or have they used them all up and spit them out when they couldn't get anything anymore?

I'd say there are too sides two every story. Period. Or, as someone else said, three sides: each party's version and the truth. Love it!

exactly! but I do think, in this case ... that there are so many different stories, there are a lot of extra sides to keep up with

Well, I tend to believe Jodi and Julie's side. Just by the way Kate acts ON AIR I think it is more than believable. I can't even imagine how Kate acts off the air.

I am not generally a Kate-basher, but I could not believe she didn't know that those braids would hurt the girls. Wouldn't the hair stylists have told her that the braiding would be uncomfortable?

Even if I hadn't known, once they started on the first kids and I saw how much it hurt, I never never never would have insisted the others, especially the older girls, get braids.

I loved it when the kids were throwing water balloons over the porch railings.

The older girls didn't get braids. Kate even said that she didn't know they were going to hurt and she didn't want the older girls to get braids either. That she would also never do it again.

Given the accounts of locals who have actually been around Kate, I'd say you're on to something.

With that said, I do think Julie is a bit of a BUT. I also don't know how I'd react if someone treated my sibling so poorly. According to Julie's blog, TruthBreedsHatred was born out of a Facebook group, so her audience didn't start out so big. Same with GosselinsWithoutPity, it was a thread on TWoP that was shut down and the people wanted to continue their dialog. I still can't believe this thread still lives on, because I've read where many of the JK8 threads on other boards have been closed.

They were at the Outer Banks of North Carolina - someone posted the info pages ago. Corolla, maybe?

The older girls didn't get braids. Kate even said that she didn't know they were going to hurt and she didn't want the older girls to get braids either. That she would also never do it again.

The older girls got a braid and a wrap, I think? All I know is whatever one of the girls got didn't suit her at all, she had a meltdown after she was finished.

I don't know if I'd call what they were doing a dialogue. From the little I had read, it was a vicious, nasty continuous attack. IMO, it got really ugly.

Again, I'm all for defending members of my family. But why someone would give two figs about what total strangers think really perplexes me. It's not like Jodi was being condemned by anyone in the media, or general public for that matter. Plain and simple, Jodi's sister is mad as hell at Kate and took the schoolyard approach. All that blog does is make them look silly and childish.

Exactly. I said it earlier. I think Jodi really misread the public. Actions speak volumes. You could easily see that she was a loving aunt to those children. I doubt anyone would think she abandoned them just because she wasn't on the show - if that was her fear. (Since Jon and Kate don't seem to have contact with so many). It was obvious Jodi loved those children. This just seems childish.

Sad all around.

I didn't find them to look silly or childish because of the blog/video. I thought Julie sounded angry and fed up after someone treated her visibly generous sister badly on national tv. Only they know all of the other things that may have lead to this... like the statement in a earlier post about Kate not allowing "anyone to make money off of my kids but me." (no $ for Jodi!). I thought Jodi looked tired, hurt and down trodden. I agree that there is little to gain by what they did. Sometimes though, you just have to do something.

I never read the JK8 thread over at TWoP. Is it even there, I wonder?

The only time I ever read a forum on that site was in the weeks before the series finale of The Sopranos. I will never forget how upset some of the people were on that thread at the ending of the show. Over. The. Top.

I think, aside from a few random posters who make their appearance and leave just as quickly, the majority of the posts and posters here a generally calm, intelligent (no name-calling, etc.) and pretty demure compared to other discussions.

I agree. I would defend my sister to the person attacking her, but I don't see the need to defend her to the public (who I don't imagine is "attacking" her). While I see the anger, I don't quite see the logic (other than perhaps a little attention of her own and/or hoping to tarnish the JK8 image to the "uninformed").

I agree with this. And like I said, I don't know what I would do in Julie or Jodi's position. And I don't know if we (the general public we) know a fraction of what's transpired over the years between Jon & Kate, Kevin & Jodi, and the other family members and friends that have seemingly disappeared from the picture. We don't know what Kevin & Jodi's relationship with Jon & Kate was like before the children, before the TV fame (for all of them, not just JK8) - it obviously got to a point where Julie had enough on behalf of her sister.

Do I think Julie was right in starting the blog? I don't know. She was in a more controlled (? smaller?) environment with the Facebook support group. And compared to where things are now, she was posting and supporting Jodi in relative obscurity. Taking to to a public blog escalated things to a whole new level.

It's absolutely crazy how quickly this has escalated over the summer. I was trying to think how I even discovered there was a backstory with the show. I started mentioning JK8 in my blog about a month ago, and hadn't watched the show very much at that point. JK8 is a popular topic on a Gymboree message board I read - I was reading a thread there, and it must have linked to Aunt Julie's blog. I didn't even know this thread was here on the DIS.

But in the course of about 2 months, this thing has really developed a life of its own. wow.

I don't know, some of the quotes and such put it over the top, but I understand that they feel like they are backed into a wall with out a voice and this gives them a voice. J&K have a voice through the show...they can pretend to be perfect parents (even though they are not good actors) and Jodi didn't have a way to say her side. She on the show ,then off, how else is she ot expalin it to the public that had been watching her? I would want to vent somewhere.
