If we only talked about facts, this thread would quickly die, since we have so few LOL.

the facts ebb and flow, I think. it was pretty quiet around here back when JK8 was off the air and before Kate was announced for DWTS.

I hadn't heard that yet. Interesting. I wonder how in the heck that was worked out? Have they been showing reruns already? Do J&K get paid for the reruns?

It looks like they are running the last 2 episodes of the J&K series, the 5th birthday party and the announcement about the divorce/separation etc. Then it will swing in to the new series which highlights the tups 6th birthday. Most networks do this to remind audiences of cliffhanger storylines and such, sadly no one who follows them needs a reminder. It may also be a way to show the drastic difference in the atmosphere from 5th to the 6th birthdays although that is subjective.

Whether or not they are getting paid, all I can say is if they are not then they learned nothing from being in the entertainment world all these years.

Good lord, please tell me you're kidding. They're airing the b-day/divorce episode? That makes me ill. Nobody needs to see that again, it was so painful and private that I actually cried when I watched. I sincerely hope it's not true. If it is, shame on Jon, Kate and TLC.

You saw the same footage as the rest of us with the edited shows and yet you can't say one way or the other who is more to blame? Even though you write numerous posts, on a daily basis, that are pro-Kate??? You saw what you wanted to and there are many of us who saw things differently,.

I'm not sure I understand how many posts I have, on a daily basis has to do with anything. Some people post many posts a day all over the dis, and some people post more than me, some less. I respond to the posts as they are posted. I stay on one thread..your point? I have this thread open while working at home..I don't have much interest in other threads.

I happen to think they are both to blame. And really, it makes no difference to me, which is to blame..the marriage is over, and neither of them seemed to want to make it work. The marriage failed, and it might have even sooner, even without the show if you added in money arguments after the kids were born. But I don't really know that..I just saw a lack of respect for each other, and that was my first clue.

Honestly, I don't understand how Jon has had 4 girlfriends over the last year. They're all young, that's for sure but I just don't get the appeal. Is it because he's some sort of pseudo celebrity? I don't get it, he seems un-dateable to me. Instead of hopping from gf to gf, he should stay single for awhile and focus on his kids and try to have some sort of workable relationship with Kate. I think his 15 minutes of fame were up about 14 minutes and 55 seconds ago.

I often wonder how the nannies feel about the circus of J&K+8. Now there would be a great tell all book but I'm sure they had to sign a 1,000 page application promising to never divulge the details of what went on.

cha-ching. it's alllll about the money. you've said it many times -- sponsors and ad space. if you didn't know who she was before DWTS and got sucked in, you need to know how she got here. and what better way than to show the 2 ugliest JK8 episodes?

My guess is that Kate will spend the first 30 minutes of the 2 hour show explaining how alone the aloneness is, so people can get caught up, too.

That first show is one I hoped to never see again, but you are right, that will for sure suck in new people, since that prob is true for someone newly divorced with children. She may find a whole new batch of people to watch. Although I think that will be in the second hour. I will be skipping the reruns.

I thought someone said once that reality shows were cheap and one of the reasons was because they didn't get paid for reruns. Who posted that here? I wonder if they do get paid for reruns. I'd like to know if K & J have any say on what reruns get played.

LOL..you read more into this than I said. I don't have a vested interest, just an interest, but I do have an interest in someone that so many love to hate, yet here she goes with two shows on TV. I assume you too have an interest, since you have been here a lot. I find it very interesting that so many are so sure than she is the most hated person on TV, and yet, they respond over and over on a board of strangers (yes I post, but I don't post saying I wish she would go away..which she won't if people keep posting LOL). I have never seen anything like this, and yep, this is what keeps my interest.

This is the only thread (well, and a few kitten ones) that I generally read and post on, on the dis since I don't have a trip planned right now. Is there a rule on this board that we have to post in several threads, or can we post on just what we are interested in?

By the way, I also keep two business boards open, so it's not just this thread I read and post on..but by far, this one is the most interesting to me, during some really boring parts of my job, just because of the talk about someone, most on this board want to go away. Which she won't, as long as there is this interest LOL! Am I the only one who sees that too? That as long as there is interest in her, she is here to stay? Madge, what do you think?

the point that I want to make is that no I am not jealous, and great for her kids if they get to see all of this stuff. But to say that they deserve it is wrong, and they don't "need" all of this stuff. I can't belive that she said they need a b-day party, No they don't, sure it is very nice, but they won't die if they don't have a party. And if they do have one, what happened to a few games or swimming and cake and ice cream at their house?

Kind of OT - I've been watching the new show Nine By Design - did anyone see the birthday episode? The mom was talking about another mom who didn't understand how she could throw so many birthday parties and the 9's mom (don't remember names) was like "What's the big deal? You bake a cake, you have some friends over." And that was exactly what she did. Of course, if Kate did that, she would probably be attacked for not spending more money on the kids since they are the reason they have so much money. So I guess there's no win-win situation.

Agreed, we will agree to disagree. Although I can say that if proof is needed for one of my 'outsider looking inside' opinions, I don't think I will be able to provide that. Although if Kate +8 decides to do a field trip to Orange County NY I may take a stroll and of course bring my camera phone. Hmm now what is worthy enough in my area to get them to come here, no water parks, no characters, no kid museums, hmmm I'm going to sleep on it and see if I can think of something in the morning.
