I'm planning to watch DWTS too. I'm sooo curious how Kate is going to fare. How many others here are planning to?

It's so nice to see some of you 'old' guys back posting! I'm back today from a week in Florida after the back2back 7 day cruises (and I needed the vacation time to get back on my feet). This was our first dis cruise and my first assumed noro experience. Bad news is, I ate wayyy too much on the cruise, good news is, thanks to this virus, I lost 5 pounds!

Do you think you caught the noro on the cruise ship or at WDW. I just saw a RCCL reported one of their ships had the noro down in south america. Hope you are feeling better. Me and my dh ended up with colds. I told him, it was from pushing the elevator button and not walking the one flight of stairs.

My husband started on day 6. I started 3 days later. We only spent a few hours in parks. We ate at Cat's (or I did, even though his only lasted 24 hours, he had no appetite), and that was it for Disney. We then drove to Bradenton, where I spent the rest of our vacation in my friends guest room. She was very gracious. I'm on the mend. Going to my own doc's tomorrow for that as well as xray's from when I slipped on the deck on some spilled food and water and hurt my hand (the medical took xray's, which Disney finally paid for after 4 days, when someone higher on the ship accidentally got involved, but said their machine didn't show the smaller bones and the doc thinks I should have a follow up). I have to say when it rains it pours LOL. But this too shall pass. Tomorrow I also get 4 new foster kittens, so the world will definately be a brighter place!

Dorris - sorry to hear about all of the problems with your trip! You need a "do over" for sure!!

Redrosesix - glad you were able to have a great trip too!

OhMari! - They think they own the world so they'll park wherever they want! We have to kick reporters off the scenes sometimes...it's like would you want someone up there snapping pictures and asking questions for the paper or news if that were your family? Come on now people!

Hopefully our upcoming Disney trip will be quiet. We started out planning on going with friends 11/27 - 12/4. Then I decided (since I hate "wasting" days that we're not working sitting at home waiting to go on vacation) that since we're done with work for the week Wednesday afternoon that we should just check in Wednesday night and add three nights to our trip! So now we have DS3's 4th birthday party on 11/20 (his actual birthday), pack on 11/21, work 11/22-24 and leave for Disney when we're done with work!!!! We're renting a house so adding on the few extra nights didn't increase the amount too much which is nice. Our friends are going to try and come down on Thanksgiving instead of waiting until Saturday so we'll all get some extra time which will be cool!

Ok...back to J&K - sorry I get side tracked easily these days! - I hope the kids are all doing well and looking forward to summer break! I wonder if Kate being on DWTS will interest any of the kids in dancing or do they already go to classes?

It's also nice to see positive reports as to how Kate is behaving at DWTS, as they get it set up. They seem to really like her. I hope her problems (if Jon was the problem) are behind her, and now that she is free of Jon, her life will be easier and she can be a nicer person. I hope she and the other's have fun with this.

Hey newtodis! Sounds like you're going to have a fabulous vacation at Disney this year! I really, really want to go back myself. Gotta sweet talk my DH some more though!

I have a feeling Kate is going to do well. I read an article where her partner (Tony Dolovani) is highly impressed with her drive. Something we've all seen in her before! I'm just waiting to see how she reacts to the judges. They don't pull any punches with their comments so it'll be interesting to see how she handles them.

I also read that Jon is apparently thrilled that Kate is getting this opportunity.

I've watched every DWTS since it first started so I'm still planning to watch with Kate being one of the celebs. Should make for some interesting tv!

Kate's name has been mentioned a lot at the consignment sale this week (I've spent a lot of time volunteering) and the only thing most people talk about is how awful she was when she was here. It's been almost a year, no one has forgotten. LOL. Oddly enough? People seem to LOVE Michelle Duggar. I didn't hear one unkind thing about her (other than the voices in my head )

That's too bad. They must not have must going on in that town to talk about, if her behavior of a year ago is still front and center LOL. Maybe there will be some sort of forgiveness from them for her behavior if she starts to show she has changed. I'm sure a miserable marriage or living with someone without love must play a part in behavior for both of them. Not knowing what their marriage was really like, I can't judge one way or the other, but see how she acts from here on, and hope if she did feel she had to run the whole show before, without Jon, things will be easier for her.

Wow, Kate certainly left quite an impression. Kate and Michelle Duggar are polar opposites IMO. Michelle comes across with a quiet, appreciative spirit whereas Kate is much more, um, bold! Can you believe it's been a year since we all stuck to this thread like glue? It was during this time that scandal after scandal came and Jon looked like a casanova! Time has flown.

I guess we'll have to keep you up to speed then on Kate and DWTS Madge!

Doris, you're always so diplomatic! Although you bring up a good point about Kate. It's obvious from her marriage to Jon that she was used to ruling the roost and getting her way. It's obvious from her marriage to Jon that she was used to ruling the roost and getting her way. Sadly I think they brought out the worst in each other. Now that Kate is solo, I wonder if she's going to be different. I have a feeling (total speculation) that her divorce really punched her in the gut, you know? Maybe she has been doing some introspection.

I wish I knew which way it was. That Jon and the marriage was miserable because of her actions, or she was because of his actions. I sometimes wonder, just what was really going on. Did she have to rule the roost, or stop her 9th child from spending what they did have. Was she the boss over him, or trying to control bad behavior. I wonder if we'll ever know which (or maybe it's both) was the real villian. I know which way it appeared to us, but I also thought she wanted the Vowl renewal and I never thought he did..even at the time. Was it really just a year ago that he suddenly had girlfriends, or a year ago that we learned about them? I guess what matters now, is their actions from here on out.

I used to watch DWTS, but I lost interest the last few seasons. It's still on the tivo, I haven't decided if I will take it off this season.

Why do the kids need a daycare in LA? (per the above link) Aren't they in school? Smells like they will be filmed soon.

miserable marriage does not excuse diva behavior.

and there is plenty of stuff going on here .. if ABC hadn't announced the DWTS cast, I doubt Kate's name would have even come up.

IMO a miserable marriage may not excuse certain behavior, but I know people who have been so depressed over a marriage breakup 9Or what went on in a marriage), that I certainly excused some of the things they would say and their behavior. I never walked in her (or their shoes) so as I've said in the past, I can't judge them. I am anxious to watch the show and see how her behavior is now, sans Jon. That might tell me a lot.

I'm hoping that this will now be a more postive thread. Maybe put the past in the past, and a sort of starting over to see how Kate acts. I really don't want to drag up the old stuff, and start all the garbage over again about the past sins of the parents. We just won't be able to have fun with DWTS otherwise, while she is on (which might be short lived LOL!). Right now the kids aren't on TV, which is what many wanted. Kate has a new start, and she seems to be getting along with people at DWTS. It appears she has made arrangments just like others have done, for her kids when they come to LA, when she is at home practicing, and perhaps she and Jon will work out who has them when also, during this time. Until she actually flubs it again, maybe we can all just live in the moment LOL!

I'm looking forward to see how she is without him. I was firmly team Jon when they were "happily" married, now I can kinda see why she was screaming all the time; Hailey seems to have taken over that role on Twitter only she's meaner So lets hope that Kate can pull this off and at some point Jon gets his stuff together too.

I wonder too how Kate will be without Jon. I know they weren't good for (or to) each other but I still have to think that the divorce must have been painful for them.

Kate is very determined and I'm very curious to see how that will translate to dancing. I don't recall ever seeing her dance on J&K+8.

I don't think we can really fault her for doing the show just because she's a mother. There are many women who've been on the show that have children. From what I read, she's planning to rehearse at home for several days and then in LA for the show.

I think she'll do well. They'll keep her around for several weeks because I think she'll bring the ratings they need for that show. I've watched it since the beginning too and can't wait to see if she'll be able to hold her tounge about the judge's comments - or maybe they'll all be awesome comments. Who knows??

I thought I read in an earlier link that Bruno just said that to be funny - didn't the host Tom "correct" that after the interview because the reporter didn't realize he was being sarcastic??


Does anything think this is the "show" TLC had been talking about that they were working on the for the spring??? I can't see her putting all this time into dancing, putting a new book out and trying to get a new show off the ground...that's just a lot of juggle. I guess it saves on travel to knock it all out at once though.
