Jon and Kate Plus 8 Official Thread - Part 8

I wish I knew which way it was. That Jon and the marriage was miserable because of her actions, or she was because of his actions. I sometimes wonder, just what was really going on. Did she have to rule the roost, or stop her 9th child from spending what they did have. Was she the boss over him, or trying to control bad behavior. I wonder if we'll ever know which (or maybe it's both) was the real villian. I know which way it appeared to us, but I also thought she wanted the Vowl renewal and I never thought he did..even at the time. Was it really just a year ago that he suddenly had girlfriends, or a year ago that we learned about them? I guess what matters now, is their actions from here on out.

I have a feeling, once the gag order is off Jon from TLC, he will be writing a "tell all" book.

Kate-the "Paps" are having a field day with "Steve" the body guard back in the picture.

Here's a glimpse of Kate in her DWTS outfit. Madge, look away!:goodvibes

I know this sounds picky, but things like this drive me nuts. If I was going to strike a pose on a red carpet (or where ever she is in the pic of her in a black dress), I would make dang sure that my undergarmets were not showing. She has the wrong bra on for that dress, you can see the beige in the armhole. The armhole is too low cut for that bra. Also, when- oh when is she going to spring to get the silly tattoo removed? First, it is a bad example for the kids, if mom has a tatoo, just think how much ink those kids will have by age 18. Second, it really draws attention to her thick calves, cankles, and big feet. She looks great down to the knee, then it all just goes wrong from there. Also, that hair just looks weird. Don't get me wrong, anything is better than the porcupine reverse mullet, but it almost looks painted blond. It looks airbrushed in or something. And it is so '70s.

Okay, Jon is not the best person in the world. But, if Kate is going to be away from the kids for a few more days, why won't she let Jon be there? Any parent is better than no parent.

I'm looking at hte pic and I don't see what you ar ereferring to. I see a possible "strap" on the shoulder--but it more looks like a miscast shadow from the dress strap than a bra revealed.

As for tattoos--I know many with them and while I will never ever get one (needle phobia and a dye phobia--the idea of dying my skin :scared1:). But just b/c a parent has a tattoo, doesn't mean that their child will be well inked by the time they are 18. I also do not believe it has one thing at all to do with the parenting skills of said inked-parent.

(the pic I saw was more a bust shot, not full body)

What reference are you referring too. I'm not being snarky, but I haven't read anything about Jon not being with the kids, or with the kids. I just assumed she would be out in California Tues-Thurs. I can't imagine flying out the same day and trying to dance that same evening.

Is this whole thing live, or do they tape it during the day and show it at night. How do they keep it under an hour, or 2 hours.

There is a comment in that article. I did come across it.

But from what I have learned IRL and on the DIS, the courts cannot modify custody agreements just b/c a parent has things to do during their time.

I can't begrudge what she does--so long as she doesn't try to infringe on his time for her choices.

And of course that works opposite as well.

I think they do the show live with pre-recorded bits and it is kept on schedule just like any newscast or any other live show with a firm ending time. Each segment is timed--there is a producer watching the clock as well as a director and they will cut it if necessary. The only mandatory segments are the dances themselves.

TB will be wearing an IFB so that producers/director can speak directly to him while he is on the air--so that he can stretch or shorten a bit if necessary. Likely why he is the one wrapping everyone up when they go on and on and on.

Most life telecasts are done in the same manner.

Awards shows (like the oscars) try--but they can't control unruly talent. They can cut the mic and cut away and have done so in the past. They very rarely drop a segment though and thus--often go over.

ETA: I forget what "IFB" stands for--but it is the "thingy" that is in the talent's ear. News Reporters doing live shots and news anchors where them. Sometimes you can see the cord that runs from their ear to their back.

Lisa, if you scroll down, you'll see the full shot. I still don't see her strap, or her bra on the side. I do see a shadow on my left and a crease under her armpit on my right. Is that really a bra showing? I can't tell. As for her tattoo, I don't give a fig about it. Her leg size is what it is, I don't think the tat makes it look any different. I don't get the part about getting her tattoo removed at all. I assume she likes her tattoo. I like vegetables and my eating them all the time sure didn't make my kids want to eat them :rotfl2:.

issues here first - tattoo, there is NOTHING wrong with someone that has a tat nor does it affect their parenting just b/c they have one..that is a HUGE judgment on tattoo in general and just plain wrong!!

second - if the court can't modify the custody fine but Kate SHOULD let the father of the kids be a father while she is gone!! Just b/c the court won;t change it doesn't mean Kate can't put the kids first and let him be a dad!!!

I don;t care if she is on DWTS it is what she wants to do even though I can't stand her as a person..don;t get me wrong I think Jon is just as bad!! but hey they are those kids parents and they need to act like and let each other ne a part of their kids lives without all this fighting and drama!! :headache:

Damn, she looks good!

I'm not a fan of her bangs though--so flippy looking, but other than that, she looks great. I think her legs are fine, not perfect, but heck, how many women are perfect everywhere?

I do not see a bra strap either. I see a shadow from her dress strap. there is space between her skin and that strap, imo.

I heard them say she said she has "two left feet", lol. Sounds like the star will have his work cut out for him.

Wow:scared1:...a little judgmental are we;) I'm actually surprised that someone would post such a crazy generalization:confused3

I totally agree with this statement!

I think her legs look great, her tattoo is so small I think it is of Winnie the Pooh.
I give her credit for trying DWTS - I would rather see her then Pamela Anderson

Wow, thanks for all the info.

I agree, just because the court doesn't modify the custody, Kate could be the "bigger parent" and allow Jon custody. That would be putting the kids best interests first.

I must have missed something. Has Jon asked Kate for more time with the kids and she denied it? Has he gotten a place in the area to spend time with them, or does Kate have to leave the house or would he come from NYC and pick them up after school and bring them back to NYC for the rest of the day to his apartment or what? I assume Jon isn't working himself, and so has more time to give? I haven't followed the custody at all. I wonder if Kate could be dragged back into family court if she starts giving him more time, since he could then say she didn't have time for the kids. Sometimes being generous with the kids can come back to bite you.
I just didn't realize that there was no reason for the court to set it up as it is. Man, this lady is still darned if she does and darned if she doesn't (work).
Do we actually know that she would be being the bigger parent by giving him more time with the kids, or was that a decision the courts made for reasons we don't know?

I'm not a big fan of Kate, I think she's made some mistakes she might well regret later on in life. Having said that, I'm a big enough person to acknowledge the fact that she looks good. Well, the hair kinda looks weird still but overall, she looks fabulous.

I've always watched DWTS and having Kate on will not deter me! I think she will bring a LOT of excitement and possible drama to the show. I'm most curious about how she'll accept the judge's criticism. I think it will show whether or not Kate has changed and become more soft. I'm speculating that her divorce was a huge blow to her and has possibly given her cause for some introspection. Sadly she and Jon seemed to bring out the worst in each other. In the beginning I thought it was something that could be worked out. But as the seasons continued, it became obvious that they were extremely unhappy together. So I wonder how she'll be minus Jon. I guess we'll get a glimpse of that March 22nd!

It's a two way street though.

We just harp on Kate--b/c how dare she travel for "work". At least that is the impression I get.

I don't see Jon donating his custody time to make up for the time Kate is away.

Not fair to throw Kate under the bus when Jon hasn't (from what I understand) offered anything in return.

I wasn't trying to throw her under the bus but again I still think he should be allowed to be a parent to them while she is gone. It should be a given that he should get them while she is gone. I think they need to work out some kind of deal on the kids behalf b/c if she is not going to be there than he should...that was all I was trying to say..

I understand totally. I just feel it is easy to jump to that conclusion without contemplating the repercussions.

Custody can get ugly when parents start to make exceptions to the court ordered custody arrangement and it behooves Kate and her kids to really think about the totality of the agreement before making adjustments without judicial intervention. The courts cannot retroactively make Jon do something just b/c Kate was generous . It could hurt her custody in the end...especially if Jon is unwilling to trade his regularly scheduled time to compensate.

And yes, I've seen this occur locally. Of course--never with a tv show ;).

Not that I know of but all I was trying to say is that if one parent is gone then the other SHOULD be there...that is all...they BOTH are those kids parents and when one is away the other should take over plain and simple...I don;t think it will bite her later b/c Jon seems to be doing a great job of hurting himself anyway...

Right but like I said in a PP I don't think it will bite her later as Jon is doing a great job of hurting himself ...
