I do think you are right, that Kate is to blame for not getting along with so many people. She likes control. She did say she still speaks with her sister (did she say she doesn't judge her?), and emails her mom. Is it a good thing that it's her way or no way? Maybe not. But I have no way of knowing if it's because of the way she treats them, or she just wants control.
I have yet to have any idea of what happened to Beth. At one time it was said on this thread that Beth no longer wanted all the attention the show brought, and that she went back to school. I kept asking the interviewer to ask her about Beth last night, but she didn't seem to hear me.
Tres bien...I think. It looks correct anyway.
I thought Jon's mom remarried and that wasn't so much cut off contact as she was unavailable? Correct me if I am wrong, but I didn't think that was a Kate directed relational cut off. I don't know though.
And who is this person?
I thought I was keeping up--but I guess not.
Although many agree that Kate's attitude could stand some adjusting (and unless everyone from their families come forward with all the past that has gone on, together and they all share with us, including Kate, we'll never know the whole story of why who talks to who, and who doesn't), I happen to agree with the reasons Kate did not take the cribs. They were used cribs from people's attics. Some were quite old. When someone found out that Kate needed cribs, new ones were donated. That was much safer, IMO. The people in the church understood. I do not think that is why her dad and her had a disagreement, if in fact they did.
Well if you missed the Kate" interview, it's on TLC again right now.. Guess they're trying to get as much mileage out of this as they can..

Did anyone think it was weird when they showed the picture/clip of the crew? The crew was the old crew, the one that is now with the Duggars.
I thought that was Carla, not Beth. Carla was also shown babysitting, at the yard sale, and I think also was at the tups 5th birthday party. Carla has been described as a paid employee, but was supposedly a "friend of Kate" from way-back also.
Beth has only released one quite dignified statement to my knowledge (which is not exhaustive). She said something along the lines of "they lived it, I wrote it" on Multiple Blessings. That was after the publication of the book, when Kate was on her book tour and rather pointedly not mentioning Beth's co-authorship. Beth has been out of the picture and off-film since she left the Utah trip early. Jodi flew to Utah to help J&K + 8 home. Remember Jodi? She gave them a lot of time back then, but then it all went bad.
So, Carla, Kate's parents and her sisters have so far said nothing at all to the press. I would hope they are given the benefit of the doubt for respecting her privacy. She can't accuse them of betraying her. Oooh, perhaps Carla is # 6, if the Neilds are 1-4, and Jamie is #5.
Poor Kate. I find it a little strange that her family are not jumping to support her. I can only wonder why.
I think there's a difference between people who do not have a lot of close relationships and somebody like Kate who it appears has had many close relationships eg. her parents -- who she felt comfortable leaving the twins with but IMO she wouldn't do that if she rarely spoke to them then, as well as other friends and nannies who were there all the time but are no longer around.
This is just weird!!
Episode: Nov. 16
Kate shares never before seen footage from the cutting room floor. The family decides to get passports for a big trip, Kate celebrates her 10th wedding anniversary with the kids, Jon tries to train the dogs and Kate hits the road for her book signing.
It's all just garbage from the cutting room floor. TLC is doing their best to scrape together episodes at this point.![]()

Yeah, I get that, but celebrating your 10th wedding anniversary WITH YOUR KIDS when you are going through a divorce? That isn't confusing at all.
I always thought it was strange too that Carla is supposedly this longtime friend yet also a paid employee?
Beth is an artist now I believe. There's a link somewhere to a picture of her from last year I think. She was one of my favorites on the show.
As far as Kate's relationships with people, she does come across as controlling and demanding. I have no idea what really happened between her and her parents but I think it's extremely odd that they used to be in the twins lives and aren't anymore. Kate has said on the show that they they don't know how to help, whatever the heck that means.
I agree with this. It is a very different thing. Kate seems to have lost people in her life and not just friends. Family. It's crazy to me. She and her brother Kevin used to be close but now because of the show they're not. I hope it was all worth it then, doing the show. Now her marriage is crap, her kids will probably be affected by their lack of privacy and her family is estranged from her. I really think Kate is going to regret some of these choices even though they gave her kids all of these 'life experiences'.

Oh my gosh! I read it wrong, I thought that was the vow renewal (which would be tacky to replay anyway). Kate celebrating her 10th anniversary alone? That is very very very bizarre. How is she going to explain that? 'Kids, remember in Hawaii when mommy said she and daddy would always be together? Well, in 2 weeks from our 10th anniversary I'm going to file for divorce and we're going to tape me celebrating it without daddy.' Ya, not confusing for the kids. Geez TLC, do you have any moral compass here? Why televise footage of a soon to be divorced mother of 8 celebrating her 10th anniversary alone? Oh wait, because they want to play the sympathy card and generate more interest in Kate to keep the show going.![]()

ETA: Here's the link to an article about Beth from about a year ago.

It's even weirder when it comes after the Viewer's Choice show -- I had thought that would be the last one. Obviously TLC plans to just keep going.
