PHILADELPHIA - Jon and Kate Gosselin’s money saga continues, as Jon Gosselin shows up in court and pays up, while Kate Gosselin skips a crucial hearing in Montgomery County family court.

Jon Gosselin was at the hearing with Judge Arthur Tilson on Monday and Tilson was satisfied that the reality TV dad put almost $200,000 back into a family bank account.

However, Kate Gosselin skipped the hearing to attend a conference and book signing in Long Beach, Calif.

Jon Gosselin now claims Kate did not account for how she spent $33,000 from the same bank account. Kate’s lawyer said the court didn’t require such an accounting.

The rest of the financial settlement has been put off until a two-day arbitrator session in November.

There were conflicting reports over the weekend if Jon Gosselin had paid back nearly $200,000 to one of two family bank accounts.

The hearing was set to hear complaints over that issue and the couple's joint assets.

However, Kate Gosselin had a previous date to appear at a women's leadership conference run by Maria Shriver in California. Kate Gosselin was also scheduled to do a book signing with Paula Deen and other celebs.

Jon Gosselin is also now allowing Kate Gosselin's estranged brother and sister-in-law visit his children when he has shared custody of their children.

Kevin Kreider and his wife, known to “Jon & Kate Plus 8” fans as Uncle Kevin and Aunt Jodi, were at the Gosselin house in Wernersville, Pa., this weekend.

The web site Radar Online showed images of the Kreiders with Jon Gosselin on Sunday.

The Kreiders publicly criticized Kate Gosselin online and on TV this spring after the couple was cut out of the Gosselins' TV show.

They claimed Kate Gosselin was angered that TLC wanted to compensate the couple for their appearances on TV.

Kate Gosselin said on the “Today Show” in June that the Kreiders lied about the circumstances of their estrangement.

“That’s probably one of the most hurtful things in all of this. When family turns on you and makes up lies and makes allegations and makes tens of thousands of dollars doing it. This is a brother I was very, very close to. And he became jealous and decided that they were going to take their fame and go elsewhere and make money essentially off of my children.”

I didn't notice the jewelry. Did Kate announce her sister made it? I wonder if she made the necklace Kate wears all the time.

Don't be surprised if the tabloids start carrying stories from "unnamed sources".

I guess Kevin and Jodi needed more money.

But, like I pointed out before, Jon said he contacted Jodi the day of the LKL interview. So...

...anybody think there have been new "sources" that are pro-Jon or pro-kids since that date. I don't recall anything that stands out. I have to say, the most anti-Kate info that has come out since that time (other than the money issues) was what she was quoted as saying in the VF article.

Inside the courtroom, the scene was less dramatic -- as Kate Gosselin was not required to attend the proceedings. Her attorney was present.

The two sides met after filing contempt motions against each other because of money missing from a joint bank account. On October 13, the judge ordered them both to put all of the money back into the account and show any other money withdrawn was done according to a divorce arbitrator's guidelines.

Today, both sides say they have complied with the order and court has been adjourned.

Our Diane Dimond was there as Jon Gosselin entered court today, where Jon's lawyer compared the reality show dad's estranged wife Kate to the "lady who lived in the shoe."

While Kate's lawyer would not reveal why Kate did not show up at court, Jon told Diane he was not surprised that Kate was not there. His lawyer also had something to say about the no-show.

"Kate Gosselin reminds me of the lady who lived in a shoe that had so many children she didn't know what to do," Jon's lawyer Mark Heller told Diane as they were entering court. "The difference is that Kate Gosselin doesn't live in a shoe, she lives in a glass house and one thing you should know if you live in a glass house is to not throw stones.

"Jon's here to support a peaceful ending."

Jon's attorney talking smack--he should realize that everyone lives in glass houses and thus take his own advice.

In the article just posted, it was Jon's attorney who spoke about old women in shoes and glass houses.

I thought him talking smack like that to be a bit--unprofessional, but it sounds good for an article.

The Montgomery County judge ordered Jon to put the money into an escrow account by the end of the day Monday. As for Kate, the judge found her in compliance, after her attorney provided receipts for nearly $60,000 that Jon claimed she had taken during the same time frame.

Jon is currently without a lawyer, as his Pennsylvania counsel, Charlie Meyer resigned from Gosselin's employ as of Monday. The rest of the details, authorities said, will be hammered out during a two-day arbitraton session slated for November.

Obviously, this whole J&K demise is being held in the court of public opinion. I'm going to have to make my case for Kate. First, of all, this is not a nomination for "Mother of the Year", but I truly think she is trying to do the best she can with the situation that she has.
1. Hindsight is 20/20....Is there any way in the world that she could have known that beginning the show would lead to all this? If you were a young mom with 8 small children wouldn't you jump at the opportunity to do a docu-show about your babes...after all, they are a phenomena and there will be some sort of news coverage. I think she was wise to try to control the coverage and put the $$$ in their bank account rather than with others.
2. Kate is a GOOD mother...she may be a bit OCD, but aren't we all...and I guarantee you that if you were in her shoes you would be the same way or even worse...when you have that many babies and other responsibilities you just don't have that much time to negotiate...around here it was "my way or the highway" and I only had two...her children are clean, healthy, intelligent, and happy...now I realize that there is a lot being reported that could confuse and sadden the children, but I really think that Kate tried to keep a lid on this for quite a while ( and like it or not, for the sake of the children)...then Mount Vesuvius (a.k.a. Jon) blew sky high and the likes of Kevin, Jodi, Hailey, Kate M., Stephanie S., Michael L., etc. were there to add fuel to the flames for their own grasp at fame and she had a fire she couldn't put out...so what does she do now?
3. Grab the kids and head for higher ground...what can she do now to put food on the table since Jon decided to kill the goose that laid the golden egg? I'm often puzzled at how everyone puts her down for not going back to nursing. How can she? What would she do with the children? Let them be 8 little latch-key kids. That is no mother's first choice. I don't think that any of us knows just how hard she really does work...and I think what breaks my heart is all the really self-indulgent, mean things that Jon is doing to get back at her...and I know...she was the one who told him she wanted a divorce...and he says he wanted to go into counseling...but that does not make it right for him to do all the horrible, public things that he is doing to humiliate her...the fact that she can still walk upright is just a testimony to her strength of charachter...

So, I just want to go on the record to say that I LIKE KATE...I don't think that she is perfect...but I think she trying to do the best she can FOR HER KIDS and what is left of their family...

Now, I've got your back, Kate. Don't let me down.
