Jon and Kate Plus 8, Official Thread--Part 7

I used to fly quite frequently in hot air ballons. A friend of mines family owns a balloon business and often when they had extra room in the basket I would go with them. Yes, it is ususally a early morning flight or a late evening flight. I watched that episode and cringed a little because the girls were standing on stools and it just scared me that they could lean over the edge and fall out. We didn't allow that on our flights, but let the children looks through the foot holes in the basket. It really is a beautiful thing to do, it's warm but I wouldn't say that it is uncomfortable by any means. It's not a constant heat. So I wish that they would have enjoyed it more.

I went for a hot air balloon ride in August (for my 30th bday; woo hoo!) and it was HOT. HOT HOT HOT. It got a little better the higher we got, but overall, we, too, were a little too distracted by how hot it was to completely enjoy the experience. And I'm a native Floridian! I can only imagine how miserable Kate and the little girls were, since they're not used to our humidity nor the hot air from the balloon. I was sad they didn't enjoy it, but I understood it.

Hanging out on TLC's facebook page still -- it's getting pretty heated as we approach Black Monday -- the day the Gosselins go back to court and Kate does her Q&A show (alone). It sounds like that show will be the test for the Kate + 8 series going forward ie. if Kate can't cut it alone, it's going to say a lot.

A lot of new posters have come out of the woodwork since the Vanity Fair article, and although there still remain some who are vehemently pro-Kate, totally anti-Jon, it's not looking good for Kate over there. Here is just a sample of what people are posting:
living in the same town as these idiots, now, and before they moved to E-Town.....I can tell you one thing: Kate is exactly the same person she was before those tups were born. My sister was an RN with her at he hospital...and everyone I speak to says the same thing: Kate is a *****...was, is, and always will be. She is greedy, unapologetic, narcissistic, controlling, and bitter.

Nobody is really pro-Jon, but does that really matter if they aren't intending for him to be on the show anyway?

Interesting reading, especially the comments. I have vaguely heard of Dr Glass but don't know how reliable she is on body language. I'd like to see her take on the "Favourite and Most Embarrassing Moments" show too. I didn't watch the Nancy Grace videos, because I can't stand NG. I'm sure she is/was a great prosecuting attorney but her combativeness and rudeness raises my blood pressure. Ick.

First I think I need to apologize for saying Jon "pretended" not to be at home. I didn't watch the video - had only went by what was posted here. Sorry!!

Next, I had a total Kate moment at the Pumpkin Patch on Saturday morning. DH was telling the kids to keep their hands away from the animals and I just kind of lost it and said in my mommy voice "They can pet them! We were just here two days ago and the people working here told the kids they can pet the animals! That's why it's called a petting zoo!". I'd realized my Kate moment when my friend who was there with another friend and their kiddos said "Yeah [DH's name]!".
Then, I had another J&K moment yesterday. I was at DS5's school for his Halloween party (no school next week) and one of the girls in the hallway was introducing a girl from her class to (I'm assuming) a mom or someone else. The first little girl says "This is Haley" and the mom says "oh what a nice name!". The second little girl says "yeah just like Jon's girlfriend from tv!". Seriously?? This little kindergardner said it so seriously all I could do was smirk and think of you guys!

My other "moment" at school yesterday was when the teacher was releasing the kids to get in line and they were practicing rhyming words. DS5 was "student of the day" so he got to go first. He rhymed his Halloween word and got in line. The teacher went through a couple other kids and got to another student. The teacher says "[student's name] witch". Without hesitation the little girl rhymed back - you can guess the word she used! All of us adults just laughed and the poor teacher just said "get in line". That was my entertainment yesterday at school!
I'm trying to get caught up with my work so I can follow more closely next week during the hearing and the "special" next Monday night!

Back to J&K - I had to smirk this morning when watching GMA and they were talking about the Phillies going to the World Series....Jon was right!

So funny! You are not alone though. I was in a real life conversation last week when we (all women) agreed that we are more courteous and less directive in general, and say "please" and "thank you" to our spouses far more frequently thanks to watching J & K + 8!

And I'm sure the little girl meant a "female dog"

I think she gave the stuff away, which is why Jon did this video. He misses those dogs and he is angry. But I agree with everything else you said, especially the "coming and going of the dogs"

IMO, Jon should just buy a small house that needs some fixing and keep the dogs as his own pets. My brother did that after a big break-up -- he even took a carpentry course and built all new kitchen cabinets himself. It was very therapeutic and he made quite a bit of money when he sold it to settle down with somebody else. Hey -- maybe Jon could start making money flipping properties.

Well, that's your opinion. But I can't see Kate using a hammer at all, and then there would be all the dust, and probably rodents and bugs.

This comment reminded me of the J&K+8 episode New House where Kate went around cleaning the fridge and basement (garage?). She complained about how dirty it all was, hadn't anybody ever cleaned it or it hadn't been touched in 10 years. Talk about embarassing for the previous homeowners. I thought to myself, hello Kate, please use your filter here and stop talking on camera about how dirty your new house is that you purchased from someone else. So yes, redrose, I can't imagine Kate flipping a house because most of those ones are abandoned or sold by the bank. OT but I used to love that show Flip That House!

I love that show -- actually I love all of them, probably because I live in a 100 year old house that we're thinking of finally renovating. But I have to admit I get all of the names of the shows mixed up.

They're the guys from Orange County Choppers. They're show is a huge hit here (which is probably because you can only ride motorcycles half the year here, so guys just daydream about them all winter long)

I used to love their show, but IMO they speak a lot like Jon. Which actually makes all the jokes and pranks even more funny.
