Jon and Kate Plus 8, Official Thread--Part 7

His friend that died was Joe the Gardener according to ET.
And he says he will make money by continuing on TV or going back to IT.

I am sure Jon has thought it through and I am sure he thinks this is what he wants but when he has to go back to work full time and he is having to work in a office, I am sure he will regret his choices. He comes across as someone who gets by, that is my opinion and so him going back to a office job just does not seem to fit with him.

I agree with you on this. When the kids are no longer famous, Jon will no longer be in demand and he won't be getting paid $15,000 and a free trip to Vegas for hanging out with bikini-clad women for a one weekend.

Fortunately, they should have lots of money left over to pay down the house, take care of the kids through college, etc. if they stop living such an extravagant lifestyle. He now pays $7500 per month towards the household expenses, so even if he was awarded $1 million in the divorce it would only last maybe 5 years given that he has his own expenses to pay as well.

I'm still thinking the NYC apartment has to go, as well as the BMW -- if he bought a small house near the kids he'd have it paid off in less than 5 years rather than paying $5000 per month in rent.

So if for the arbitration yesterday, they each went to seperate rooms with their attorneys, is that what Jon meant in his tweet "the court divided my family?" Maybe he thought they would sit together for the arbitration?

I can't believe anyone thinks Jon still loves Kate....as in "get back together and be a married couple again" love her? I don't see it all.

EXCLUSIVE: Jon & Kate Plus 8 Will End Officially In NovemberEXCLUSIVE:
Posted on Oct 14, 2009 @ 04:13PM

Jon & Kate Plus 8 will officially end in mid to late November, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.

Inside Jon And Kate's Hearing

TLC has not made an announcement but RadarOnline.com has confirmed with sources outside the network that there is just enough unused new footage to take them through about another month.

"They will eek out what they can in terms of more shows," a source close to the situation told RadarOnline.com. "Obviously they are not shooting anymore so they are taking what they have and seeing how many more episodes they can get out of it."

Jon Gosselin has told the network they no longer have his permission to film the children and TLC will not challenge that. If Jon changes, his mind, they will go into production on the new show, Kate Plus 8.

"TLC has no plans to film unless the situation is resolved," the source told RadarOnline.com.

Considering that the Gosselin divorce has turned into all-out war, it doesn't seem like Jon and Kate can resolve anything without a judge present, so prepare to say goodbye to original episodes of the show.

THANK GOD!!!! Finally! Even though it is obvious that Jon is doing this for selfish and spiteful reasons. and if he was a good father, he would have done this years ago......at least it is the right desicison! Even if it is for the wrong reasons...thank goodness! maybe the kis have a shot at a semi-normal life! (well, not with these two selfish losers, but at least it won't be televised!)

Thank goodness TLC has finally seen the light and won't contest it! Finally they realize that they were losing us in their exploitive ways!

Is there a video of Jon on ET (from tonight) anywhere?

Not here yet, because it also airs later -- but the promo on the ET site has the gist of the conversation about the court decision.

That's exactly what Jon said -- so maybe that's what he meant (damn Hailey for teaching him the cryptic tweet thing)

And I think it's more the "I wish I didn't love you -- I wish you didn't hate me" kind of love, if I'm right about that at all.

BTW, just called my DH at work and asked him if he could remember what I was wearing the last time he saw me (about 5 hours ago) -- Nope!

I think it's a 'what the heck happened to us?' kind of thing. I believe him that Kate told him it was over.

jpaxton1118 :flower3: I just get a little crazy if I think someone is suggesting they need the show to continue in order to live their lives. I think Jon overestimates his own staying power on TV, but I do not think he regrets stopping the show and getting away from TLC and their control.

I also saw the old episode and thought the same thing. I don't care if TLC or some other agency paid for them to go to ElSalvador. That was a mission of compassion and a way to show children how lucky they are to live in America. This would never happen with the Gosselin's. Camping in the backyard with the brand new tents and sleeping bags was as close to this kind of thing for them. J & K are all about themselves and what they can get for free. My daughters friend just went on a medical mission to Guatemala and it cost her $2,000 for expenses--and this was staying at an orphanage. She raised some of the money with fundraising, but this was a big thing for a college student.

So the Gosselin's had a garage sale and sold everything that was donated to them in the first place and donated some "donated toys" to St. Jude's hospital, nice gesture, however, nothing special for all that they have been given. That was one thing brought up about Kate over and over--just how ungrateful she really is!!!

Not only that, but was I the only one that thought it was sort of ridiculous to spend all that time SELLING their donated stuff only to donate the money? Why didn't they just donate the stuff? Wouldn't it have been worth more as a full price thing, then as the "used selling price" of a thing? Then ALL the time they spent that day at the sale (with the cameras on them all the while) could have been spent VOLUNTEERING at a place they donated the things to??? Wouldn't that have made ALOT more sense? Not only that, but much of the money made at the sale had to pay for the rented truck to transport the stuff (because apparently only paparazzi are allowed on the property, but not people for a yard sale)they rented tables and table covers (which gave Kate a great opportunity to rip people apart on air) but all that was paid for out of the proceeds. Pretty stupid, huh? Why didn't they just call a Salvation Army truck or a St. VIncent DePaul truck to come and get the STUFF???? would have been a better donation IMO. Oh, but they wouldn't have had all of that "great" footage for yet another episode.

I guess you can. I know there are a lot of people who would like to take their kids to El Salvador for mission work. It's all our church families can do to scrape up enough money to send one missionary family. Maybe when the Gosselin kids are older, TLC will pay for them to do that too, instead of just having garage sales for pediatric cancer and bringing toys to St Jude's. Of course then they would be at fault because people would say they were taking their children to an unsafe area. That was a wonderful opportunity that the Duggar family got, with no small amount of thanks to TLC, I'm sure.

because the Duggars use their powers for good instead of evil, that makes it better? the kids are still the draw for their show, same as the Gosselins. In the end, it's all contrived reality, IMO. It's entirely possible, if not likely, that the Duggars would have taken a trip like this in their lifetime, without the show. I am so anti-TLC right now that I question their (the network's) motives for everything. Maybe there will be a day that I won't.

I didn't see it, but I'm sure that the mission trip was a wonderful opportunity. Jim Bob Duggar is a savvy business man, it wouldn't surprise me if he stipulated that there be some type of evangelical opportunities through the show. and if that's the case, good for him. truly. although I don't agree with their lifestyle, I admire their steadfast faith.

Thanks. I just went to set ET on my DVR though and for some reason the schedule tells me the next time its airing is Saturday.:confused3 Maybe it airs at different times depending on where you live.I will have to wait & watch it when its online.

I'm with you -- I don't much care why he did it. Ready to celebrate (a little).

If you would like to make a contribution to the Gosselin Family’s TAP account, you can do so by making your check payable to “TAP 529,” writing “Gosselin” in the memo portion of the check, and sending your contributions to: Gosselin Sextuplets and Twins Accounts, TAP Bureau, 218 Finance Building, Harrisburg, PA 17120. More information on the Tuition Account Program can be obtained by calling 1-800-440-4000 or by visiting the Treasury website and clicking on Tuition Account Program.

I called the number way back when we discussed it before. I was told I needed the account number to put money in and that I could get that from the Gosselins. This is the site I mentioned when I called..but I was still told I needed to have the account number, not just a name (even though it says you just need a name). Both Kate and Jon said they have an account..and if I remember right, they indicated this account does not have money in it. If you find out otherwise, be sure to let us know.
I don't remember what my point is anymore, excpet people assume that others put money in the account. At one time K & J said they did not. I'm going by memory, of when we went around and around this account in the past.

So the 2and 6 year old should have asked to do a mission project in El Salvador in order for us to like their parents? I thought for their age, they were taught sharing their wealth pretty good. They didn't have to give away the money for their toys, clothes, etc. no matter how they got them. They said on that show they do that yearly. They didn't have to sit there and sell lemonade. How the heck can you compare the kids on the Duggars with the Gosselins for a mission trip. I wonder, would they have gone on that mission trip with so many of them if they were paying for it? What more did you think the little kids should have done? Maybe gone out and dug ditches? They are little kids. Hopefully, by the time they are teens this will all be a memory and they won't be on TV with the world watching them during their most sensative time.
Maybe the Duggars can donate all of their pay from TLC, to the poor in El Salvador since they aren't doing the show for gain.

Apples and oranges.

No, you miss the point. While I agree the Gosselin kids were to young for a mission trip.....Jon and Kate aren't too young. They left their kids for things like tummy tucks, and how could any of us forget how they left 8 kids very sick with the FLU with Aunt Jodi who already has FOUR kids so they could go get Jon hair transplants for free. SO they couldn't leave the kids for a little volunteer work??? uh-huh. They could have at least taken the little guys for a park clean-up day or SOMETHING to bring attention to volunteer work. THAT was the greater good of the Duggar trip, not just what the kids could accomplish while there, but that they used thier show to bring attention to need in the world.

ALso- that hairplug episode was on today, and I thought it was HILARIOUS how instead of singing Jodi's prasies for taking on 8 more in addition to her own 4- Kate said that she thought when Jodi and Kevin had her 8 (in ADDITION TO THEIR OWN 4) that it made Jodi and Kevin AMAZED that Jon and Kate do that every day....then pan to Jodi who says that taking care of the 8 after having 12 was NOTHING!!!! That it was really easy!!!!! :lmao::lmao:I loved that!!! Made Kate look like a selfish idiot (as usual) BTW did Kate ever take on Jodi's 4 in addition to her own 8???? UMMM .. No. Never. In fact I think Jon implied that would be like "illegal" although it was ok for Jodi and Kevin.... Made me wonder.. Did Jon and Kate ever watch thier own show and go "wow. we are ungrateful jerks that never return a favor"

I wouldn't be thanking God yet..John and Kate plus 8 are no more..we all knew that TLC cut Jon out. I hope this is the end, but I wouldn't be too sure yet. Kate plus 8 may still rear it's head. I'm waiting for an announcement from TLC before I consider it dead..

"TLC has no plans to film unless the situation is resolved," the source told RadarOnline.com"...that's a long ways from the end. The article said there is only enough film to go to November. Taping could always start up again.

I have to agree with you mousey. Kate has been called on the carpet before for her less than 'gracious' attitude. Madge, didn't you say when Kate was in your area that the locals weren't too thrilled with her? Or something to that effect?

that's exactly what I said.

I know of someone who didn't go to the church and ran into Kate at Target. She was pleasant enough to those people... they were pleased.

Eyes for lies posted a brief comment regarding the arbitrator's ruling. She calls Jon a ticking time bomb (specifically a time bomb about to implode).

She has a pretty good track record and I must say when I read her latest comment, I'm a bit haunted at the vibes she is getting.

My vibes are not that strong, but I am not a human lie detector.

http://eyesforlies.blogspot.com/2009/10/jon-gosselin-ordered-to-return-180k.html

I don't have an opinion on whether or not she's good at what she does, but IMO using footage from the show wouldn't tell you much -- maybe he didn't believe the things he was scripted to say. I wish she would update her site to include the interviews that Jon and Kate have given.

And yes, he does look like he's about to implode in those photos. But they had just left the courtroom and were walking to the arbitrator's office.

It doesn't matter how they got there. You can't compare it to what J & K might have done..their children are young.

She was there for hours...we saw a short period. Even in the amount of time we saw, at some times she was very happy and smiling. I just saw the show a couple weeks ago, and I remember it well. Yes, she was upset about the sign. That's Kate and many other people.

Does it matter who paid for the toys? They went and picked them out and wrapped them. It was a learning experience for the kids, just as the El Salvador show was for the Duggars. No money out of either pockets. And the books were not given to the little kids. Toys were.

So should I assume that TLC did not pay for the time the Duggars helped with the house and they were taping? They prob gave supplies as well, to tape it. You can't compare what the Duggars do, to the Gosselins, unless the Duggars older 5 or 10 are not in the show and they do these types of things with the little kids. They are two different shows. Both getting paid with a show neither family would have if not for their children.

I wish the Duggars show would show their disciplining when they teach their youngest kids. I wonder what all of you (you general you) would be saying then. I watch the Duggars, I appreciate their Christian work..however, I don't compare it to J & K's show. TLC wants different things for each of these shows and IMO it shows.

Yeah, and Kate doesn't spank???

You quoted me, so I'll answer. I do not think it makes it better. In fact, as I've said before, I think it makes it worse. They should know better than to put their children out there publicly. There are lots of ways to get the Word out. I don't happen to think this is one of them. Yes, they have a nice family, and yes, we don't see them argue..but that doesn't mean they don't. It doesn't mean they don't firmly punish their children. It just means we see what TLC wants us to see, or what the Duggars have agreed to let be shown.

I don't agree with the Duggar's forms of discipline, whether TLC shows it or not.

In fact, I've mentioned on this thread before that TLC edits the Duggars. Whether or not it's as much as the Gosselins, we'll know.

The Gosselins and the Duggars are as different as night and day, IMO. The only similarities are that they each have large families, they've used that for financial gain/TV show, and they're on TLC.
