It just occured to me that I wonder if there has been any change with Kate and her contact with her parents? In the link above to the rare video interview JG talks about his in-laws and it is 'weird' how they just want to be drop in grandparents, and that they have 19 grandchildren.

Because if two adult cats were surrendered to an Animal Control shelter, they have a better chance of being euthanized than re-homed. Jon and Kate need no one's help making themselves look bad! The poster said possibly, not probably. Unfortunately this is a legitimate scenario for cats given up. I hope they are/were loved by someone else. Why do people give up cats when they have babies? Cats are so easy in my opinion. I have lots of pets, and several kids! It's all about choices.

And of course we have no idea if they were surrendered or if they found them homes. In any case, I would never want people to think most of the time bringing an animal to a shelter was a death sentence. We've tried to come a long way from when people drowned them, or just opened their doors and let them roam. Shelters do the best they can and now have a lot of help with the rescue groups. When you see the amount of groups on Petfinder, it's easy to see that many people are trying to preven unnecessary euthanizing.

I'll always assume the best of people unless I know for sure the worst.

But in any case we have no idea what Kate and Jon did with their cat/s. I'd rather assume the good..that they found a home.

Interesting link I tend to agree more with the less pro-Kate side, but that's probably because I don't think either of them has handled this period at all well.

As for assumptions, I've always preferred to assume the good, not the bad, unless we had proof to the contrary.

There are some really big issues with the show, the divorce, etc. that are right out there in the open to be debated. For example, I'm still having a hard time accepting that the kids will have enough time to do 40 shows this season without it cutting into things like homework time, extracurricular activities, and the necessary downtime that these kids probably need more than ever right now. Could they not have renegotiated the TLC contract to make the production schedule less grueling right now? Shouldn't there be some type of hardship clause where kids are concerned?

I agree that 40 shows is a lot..I have no trouble debating something like that. I wonder if that's still on the agenda. There is a lot that can be debated when we know things..not so much when we think we know them (yes, I'm guilty of that too). For me, what bothers me the most, is when people type with venom in their post (in many places,not just this thread). I would have a hard time hating (and yes, at least to me, it's obvious some hate them) someone I really don't know. I can't think of anyone I do know (truthful stuff) that I could hate, unless it's a murderer, or someone that does a heinous crime. We may not agree with what all these people do, but they are still people with feelings. Perhaps on the times we aren't seeing them, they really are being good parents (and surely even when we see them, it can't all be bad). Then the kids see and hear what is being said about their parents, and true or not, it has to hurt. If someone that doesn't even know Kate says she's a big liar, the kids, who love her have to feel bad for her.

I did see the Roloff's are also doing 40 shows this year..I don't think they have in the past. Of course their kids are older. I don't know if that's a plus or a minus. I always said I hope J & K weren't on when the kids were teens, that I felt their privacy should remain intact, and yet here we have a show with kids in their teens (as well as the Duggars). Even if it's the sweetest show there is, being a teen is tough, and I think they should be allowed to be teens without camera's.

Hasn't Jon said in the past that he didn't have a romantic relationship until Kate told him SHE wanted a divorce?

Where has it been confirmed that Jon is getting high?

Stephanie said in her interview he smokes pot at the house when he has the kids. I think he is on more than pot which would explain why he is acting insane right now

Now, a lot of people would disagree with you and say that they are not actually divorced yet so they are still legally married. WE don't all agree with you that the marriage was over in June -- I am, and always have been, of the opinion that once one of the spouses decides the marriage is over, then it is.

You also have no evidence that Jon was coming home drunk and high -- the only person in that marriage who has been accused of getting drunk regularly is Kate, and the accusastions were made by former babysitters.

As for the timeline, Jon told Kate that he wanted to go out with his friends (not to go out drinking, as you stated) in Jan and claims that in their 10 years of marriage he had never been allowed to do that. When she told him he couldn't, he said "what are you going to do? Divorce me?" According to everybody but Kate (who can't remember when the marriage ended) they had been basically separated for 3 months by that time, and Jon had already been going to counseling.

I will hold on to the end that the kids are being harmed by the filming, but it not just the filming. They are being hurt b/c "the show is their life". That's what makes J&K different than the Duggars and the Roloffs. The Gosselins have nothing else, and now not even their parents.

I do think all the kids filmed for profit should have legal protection of their earnings and regulation of filming hours. I don't think a parent's sole income should be what their kids earn for them. There is no other family like J&K, no one else has such an intrusion into their kids' lives, and given them over in such totality to a cable channel. They are a whole new level of exploitive. Why is she or her mother credible, but nothing reported about Kate in the tabloids is ever true? Only stuff about Jon is considered gospel. Kate said Jodi and Kevin only came forward for money. Maybe Steph's mom just wanted money too.

Intrusion..so it's just an intrusion with the Gosselins, but not the others. I happen to not see a lot of difference from one family reality show to the other as far as the kids are concerned, having their private lives shown. I like it with teens less so than with younger children, so I happen to not be as disturbed by the Gosselins as I am by the others with teens. Sure the parents (from what we see, act different (again, only from what we see). But still we are only seeing what TLC is letting us see. The Roloff's, the Duggars. Sure it's different, but it's also the same.

Is this "former babysitter" your referring to Stephanie? If so, I don't believe a word out of her mouth. Wasn't it her mom that was giving interviews to Radaronline for money? Yeah, Stephanie is a great source .

I didn't read much of the hoopla about that, because I assume it didn't put the kids in danger, since he still is allowed to have them and Kate and Jon are divorcing, but I thought someone said that here. If so, and Steve has the same type of texts from his phone to Kate's, I'll believe that Kate and Steve are having an affair.

Well see I don't believe the stories about her drinking either. None of us knows if Jon or Kate is a drunk or a drug user. We read what the tabloids want us to read, and if it isn't sensational we wouldn't be talking about it. I don't click on the links here and don't believe things from "sources".

I hope Kate gets a talk show picked up and ends the TLC show.

Even if there was no money paid to anybody to has leaked or told a story about the Gosselins, IMO there are plenty of other reasons that somebody might have to lie to the tabloids. So I have to look at all such stories with some amount of suspicion. Like you said, we don't even know these people. Until we have unrefutable evidence like a video or photograph or one of them admitting to something, I think it's pretty hard to take what the tabloids say as gospel.

So...I'm choosing not to believe in the alleged affair between Steve and Kate, or that Jon was dating anybody but Hailey (and only during the time that they both say the relationship was happening). Same goes for other sensational stories that might be printed in the tabloids.

Re the texts: her mother said there were texts that she saw, but nobody else has. I believe that about as much as the affair between Steve and Kate.

I have to agree with you -- if Jon was actually putting the kids in danger by trying to commit suicide or getting high in the house, I'm certain that he would no longer have custody days. Kate has already gone to court to get control of the finances pending the divorce proceedings -- no way she would let this slide if there were any truth to it.

Jon backed up what Kevin and Jodi said in their video. You can't deny that if there is a negative about Kate, it's is summarily dismissed as '15 minutes' and 'they were paid'. If it's about Jon, it's probably true. Part of that is his fault and part is careful spinning of the media machine.

There have been several reports that the food was catered on filming days, including Jon saying so in the Utah interview (I think). I've always wondered whether they actually ate the food that she was cooking during the show, or that was just for the kids and they ate the catered food. Maybe they do it like a cooking show -- with the finished product all ready in the oven.
