Jon and Kate Plus 8 Official Thread - Part 6

Actually, the "intervention" mentioned wasn't for drugs, it was merely an intervention by family to basically get Jon on track for adulthood. ;)

And that type of intervention would be well worth it -- I don't know much about Jon's brothers because they haven't been on the show, but that's all the more reason why they could give him good advice about being a "normal" father, which is IMO what his kids need, especially right now.

After seeing so many articles saying that Kate's talk show future was in doubt due to her poor performance on The View, I was surprised to find this one saying she did well in the taping for the pilot:
http://www.radaronline.com/exclusives/2009/09/exclusive-kate-gosselin-tapes-tv-pilot

That being said, all the hype about Kate being a co-star to Paula Deen looks like it was just that -- Hype. Apparently, Kate will just be a contributor to the show, along with several others.

Well, I wouldn't put it past him if he was an addict, but you still haven't convinced me. :rolleyes1

Having said that, I sometimes wonder whether Jon has done so many fewer TV appearances because he has chosen not to, or because he wasn't invited. It seems to me that the Gosselin brand isn't strong enough for them both to get those types of invitations ie. if they invite Kate to be on a show they don't need to also have an appearance by Jon to basically talk about the same things (there are other celebrities out there, too). And I'm sure their agents are actively seeking these guest appearances, but like Kate's PR team, her agent is obviously better. Even Jon's big TV interview was on Prime Time Live Family Secrets -- not LKL, the Today show, or The View. The TLC gag order can't explain all of this.

Time will tell us if he is or not. He is so out of control if he ever wants to clean up his image he will have to go to rehab so he can be forgiven :rotfl:

It seems in the states if you say your sorry & go to jail or rehab we forgive you. ( I'm bitter about Micheal Vick & venting) Not that I'm saying Jon is anything like Micheal Vick. Jon IMO is a good person doing stupid things. Micheal Vick is EVIL IMO

just for comparison's sake .. there's another guest co-host today on The View .. Alexandra Wentworth. She's been on before. I'd add her to the short list of people I'd love to see replace Elizabeth ..not that she's being replaced, darn it. :upsidedow

I'm not surprised something good "leaked" about the taping. I'd be surprised if it didn't. But just a few hours earlier, Radar was saying they didn't think it would go well, though. :lmao:

Who saw Kate fooling with her ear piece on the View and making that look of aggravation? Then, when Rachel Zoe or Kathy was on (cant remember which) she was not in conversation and the camera caught her looking at audience and rolling her eyes. They quickly moved camera.:rotfl2::rotfl2: She was not happy when the attention was on someone else in my opinion.

Nice catch. :thumbsup2 IMO, it's things like this that will determine her future career, not how many interviews she does about Jon.

Just found it -- it was during the Kathy Griffin interview, when they switched topics from Kate to Whitney Houston:

Maybe she was just getting direction eg. Kate -- ask a question, but didn't cover very well.

OK, I watched it three times. I can't see the eye roll or the agravation. Someone capture it please.
I hadn't watched this view..I thought it was pretty good. I assume this is not the time when people said her legs weren't together?

I saw her make a slight face - but to me it looked more like she was having problems with her earpiece and was frustrated with that more than anything. :confused3

I didn't notice the eyeroll in this clip, either ...

her legs weren't together in this clip, but it wasn't as bad in this one as it was earlier. I know she knows how to sit correctly on a stage, I've seen her do it. LOL.

Ok, I just watched that clip with Kathy Griffin.
That outfit Kate wore for the last day on the View looks like a bathing suit I had about 4 years ago. I think it was about that short too, tank top with a skirted bottom.

I hope you looked as great in your bathing suit as Kate did in the outfit! I don't know if the view dressed her, or if she dressed herself, but I wish I could carry off that look. She looks great!

You should have seen her outfit in Charlotte, NC last Thursday. She was on a raised, bare stage, sitting in a metal "banquet" chair the whole time in a short, tightish skirt! Not a good combination! No desk, no podium, no standing up! :scared1:
Kathy Griffin on The View was hysterical. I thought Kate looked odd. I usually think she is beautiful. Her outfit was way too much, her hair was weird, and her eyes were puffy, imo. I wish she hadn't chimed in with her "Playboy" rumor. Nobody really knew what to say, so Kathy got raunchy.

Wasn't that in response to Kathy saying she was willing to pay $100,000 to be in Playboy?

Yep, that's why I said chimed in. Kathy made a joke, and Kate went to top it with her own "You know what's really funny..." story about herself, which wasn't funny at all to anyone there it seems.

IMO, the skirts Kate wears on these shows are way too short for a 34 yr old woman. I don't care how great she looks. Unless she is built tiny like Rachel Zoe, she should wear a longer length. Why would you want something that is creeping up your thighs as you are sitting facing the camera????
I thought Kate really made a face when Rachel Zoe was talking about herself being a control freak, but being nice. Obviously Kate knows nothing about Rachel Zoe. In fact I think that was the problem, Kate doesn't know anything about anything but Kate!

I didn't see it either. She does tend to bring everything back to herself, but I didn't see any eye rolling or dirty looks.

Yes, I agree with you on the Rachel Zoe issue. It seems like Kate expected answers that she didn't get and then didn't know what to do eg. the control freak issue, how long she spends to get herself ready to go out. IMO, she must have depended on the pre-show briefing to get ready, but really didn't do her own research.

As for the short skirts, I have plenty of pictures of my mother wearing them in the 60's (and she would have been in her 30's too) but it seems like women knew how to sit much prettier then. They definitely knew how to get out of cars better with those short skirts :scared1: I've always felt that a couple months of finishing school wouldn't be a bad idea for today's young ladies -- too bad they don't offer things like that anymore.

Ok -- if I have it right -- she starts playing with her hair or her earpiece almost as soon as the topic switches from her to Whitney Houston. At about 2:23 Sherry says Whitney said she's not taking crack anymore. Then Kate makes some kind of face. It could be a coincidence, maybe not, IDK. :confused3

Really, it just looks like she wasn't paying that much attention at that point because she thought the camera wasn't on her (although the audience was watching) Maybe we have to remember that she really is not used to doing live TV -- I read somewhere that it took a whole day to shoot the tups' last birthday party. They have a lot of retakes. Even her interviews are basically scripted, and the questions are usually known in advance. This is so different from doing a talk show with different guests and topics each day.

but, but, but .. it's the realest reality show on TV .. it's scripted? she knows the questions in advance?

:lmao:

I couldn't resist. :upsidedow
