Oh, I can think of quite a few mature intelligent and very functional adult sons who have great respect for their mother's opinions. Although I guess it depends a lot on the mother.

I think I saw somewhere that he did have some college experience but didn't graduate. Anyone? IT does seem his most marketable skill right now, but he should explore his options and consider going back to school.

My son is very mature, intelligent and functional. And because of that, when he (or other mature, intelligent and very functional adult sons) does something, he doesn't need mom's opinion. I'm sure if I gave it, he would respect it..then do what he feels is best for himself.

Jon's Mom will be talking to him soon with his brothers. Its called an intervention. IMO

Someone like Jon needs someone like Kate...but maybe nicer. He needs a strong woman because he is a mess alone. Jon & Kate toned down can compliment each other. They put drugs, power & money in the mix & it destroyed them.

I think Kate is on prescribed medication she seems to be a nicer version of her old self & not so OCD.

I really want the best for both of them. I care about this family like I know them

Because I think the woman's a crackpot, I won't post the link, LOL .. but there's another part of the interview with the nanny's mother. Something about Jon leaving the babysitter in charge when he went to NYC to do press. It's all exclusive and a big deal or something... except, I'm sitting here thinking that it's the same thing that's going on this weekend. Jon and Kate are both gone, and the children are at home with someone else. So, I'm not sure what the difference is. LOL

PS. I get tweets from RadarOnline, that's how I knew about the story. LOLOL

the only thing I can figure is that it's just something to stir things up on a slow Sunday. They're doing the same thing with this woman that they did with Kevin and Jodi .. take a 15 minute interview and break it down into 3 or 4 headline grabbers. Admittedly, I didn't listed to the interview, so I don't know if there's anything truly shocking in it and even if there was, I don't think I'd believe it, anyway. LOL.

That was nice of Jon to sign his autograph's for free---gee, if the pumpkin farm calls now, maybe they can take the 8 kids and have them do autographs too!

I don't think it is. there have been at least 6 names kicked around this week as possible co-hosts with Paula. I'm sure there are many people involved with putting the panel together, not just Paula... unless she's a producer or something.

Regardless of who is on the show, I'm not sure how successful it will be. Usually the "copy cat" shows don't do so well. The View has been on the air a long time .. it will be a tough act to replicate.

I hardly think saying Jon has no sense is the same as the kids being abused. I have to say my husband has been an irresponsible parent. 28 years later, I still shudder at the amount of times my husband took my 5 year old to school on a motorcycle. No one thought to mention it to me, until my son was in his 20's and bought his own motorcycle. There are lots of things my husband hasn't done like I would do them, and I'm sure I've been 'Kate' at times (but my husband is one great sweetie and we've been married over 40 years). When she said she had to protect her kids, it never occured to me it was from Jon's abuse, but I did think it had to do with his use of money. But I don't know that for a fact either.

I agree with you, but I responding to somebody saying that Kate has never said that Jon was an abusive or irresponsible parent. I disagreed by saying that I always felt that Kate was saying Jon was an irresponsible parent. Financial irresponsibility would be included in that, too.

ITA! In my family, I'm known as the "strong one" -- need a funeral planned, need to find the ICU in the hospital (including the children's hospital)? I have lots of experience. But I appear as laid back as Jon because I don't sweat the small stuff (because it's just small stuff -- I've had enough of the big stuff to realize the difference). I have a lot of faults, but being strong is my best asset.

I never really saw Kate as being strong -- maybe strong-willed, determined, driven -- because she gets soooo stressed about everything (and a lot of those things are small stuff). Maybe that's why I can't relate to her at all, even though I am also a mother.

Well, I wouldn't put it past him if he was an addict, but you still haven't convinced me.

Having said that, I sometimes wonder whether Jon has done so many fewer TV appearances because he has chosen not to, or because he wasn't invited. It seems to me that the Gosselin brand isn't strong enough for them both to get those types of invitations ie. if they invite Kate to be on a show they don't need to also have an appearance by Jon to basically talk about the same things (there are other celebrities out there, too). And I'm sure their agents are actively seeking these guest appearances, but like Kate's PR team, her agent is obviously better. Even Jon's big TV interview was on Prime Time Live Family Secrets -- not LKL, the Today show, or The View. The TLC gag order can't explain all of this.

Actually, the "intervention" mentioned wasn't for drugs, it was merely an intervention by family to basically get Jon on track for adulthood.
