I have truly hesitated on commenting on this thread but looking at that picture where Jon brought out the kids made me thing of the infamous case in Canada of the Dionne Quintuplets. They were put on display and their lives ruined. I can't watch the show anymore and am deeply saddened by the recent turn of events. As my dad would say I just pray for them.

Yup, I have always thought that myself -- and so did the Dionne Quintuplets (who wrote an open letter to the Gosselins about maintaining their childrens' privacy)

And now Kate is going to write a book chronicling how the divorce affected the kids? Good grief.

That is possible, they could be pretty far away and just zoom in..never thought of that. I really don't like the whole "staring at the family" thing though. I just can't believe that people go and stand by their fence like that....I think that is crazy.

If you look at the layout of their property it would be almost impossible for them to get that shot from anywhere but right behind the fence.

Jon is too trustworthy, to bring his kids out to the fence with him.
Those people are not looking at Jon, they are looking at the kids.
Maybe Jon is correct when he says he wants to stick up for his kids,
but his actions sure don't prove it today, by letting them come to the fence and meeting strangers.
Yes, Jon is there with the kids,
but why, is he trying to make his kids feel comfortable with strangers?
Hasn't Jon ever learned the lesson,
"Stranger, Danger".
I really think Jon is out there, and the kids are trying to get his attention. It's like Jon has a fixation with the people that come to the fence and gawk at his family, home, etc.

I had to think about this for a while. And I have to agree that this behaviour by Jon is absolutely absurd.

Yes, I could understand why he went to the fence to tell his side of things when TLC had the gag order on him, but that hasn't been necessary since he did the interview last week. That may cut down on the time the paparazzi hang out at the fence but IMO, Kate calling the police a few weeks ago might have upped the ante so that it doesn't really matter how Jon behaves -- they think there's always a chance that something sensational will happen. Same goes for the fans, but I can't imagine going to somebody's house and hanging out at their fence, especially if they have little kids, if it's not something you're getting paid for.

And I absolutely agree with his need to shield the kids from the photographers and fans -- I'm sure they get enough of this attention when they're travelling to public places while taping for the shows (but TLC obviously has security to hold people back to keep them out of the scenes). There is no good reason for this, other than that maybe Jon feels the kids are unnecessarily scared of the people who hang out in front of their house -- too bad we didn't have some video to go with these stills so that we knew what was happening there. IMO, the paparazzi aren't the same as other strangers (like the fans ) since they seem to be there all of the time.

But either way, this is a really weird way for kids to grow up. I'm pretty sure my DD would refuse to play outside if she thought somebody was watching her all of the time. The whole paparazzi at the fence thing goes beyond taping the shows in the weirdness department -- I would definitely avoid the front of the house at all times. And I would probably try to get a restraining order to give the kids some privacy.

Yes, but the G's don't know any different. They've had someone watching them/cameras following them since they were what, 14 months old? Remember Kate's old quote, "It's normal to them".

I stopped watching The View about a year ago. They did a "behind the scenes" type show and I found out that everything is so staged. I thought it was spontaneous and they had a list of Hot Topics and the Moderator would choose a few to discuss on air. They said on that show that they pick them ahead of time and that just turned me off. I also found out Joy has a joke writer, also a turnoff for me.

I saw Multiple Blessings online for 75 cents. You can't even get it that cheap at the Dollar Store. Probably worth less if she autographed it!!! I think maybe Jody & Kevin will write a book telling their side of the story!

I saw it at a Yard Sale for 25 cents or 5 for a dollar.

it is still about $17.00 at walmart here. I noticed it last week. I thought it might be clearanced priced or something.
