She has to explain something to them, when they see what their dad is up to. I think saying he's immature is the least of what I would be thinking. I guess she could shield them and say that dad has been doing some babysitting for these young chicksReally? Five and eight y/o should be aware their father is being immature? What does this accomplish and how is that good for the child? Huge difference between doing something in person and doing it where everyone in the world (literally) can see/hear it. I think children should be shielded, but I look to be in the minority.

I'm sure my kids have heard me say their dad is immature more than once when they were little (after all, when we got married, he played in a rock band, and while I generally went to the gigs, some things the band did was immature, even with me there. Luckily, he didn't date the groupies LOL! There are some things I think should be off limits, I just don't happen to think saying Jon acts likes he's 15 (especially if it's true) is that big of a deal, when I think of all that she could be saying. Nope, IMO, I just don't think this is a biggy..but I also understand where some might.
