Really? Five and eight y/o should be aware their father is being immature? What does this accomplish and how is that good for the child? Huge difference between doing something in person and doing it where everyone in the world (literally) can see/hear it. I think children should be shielded, but I look to be in the minority.
She has to explain something to them, when they see what their dad is up to. I think saying he's immature is the least of what I would be thinking. I guess she could shield them and say that dad has been doing some babysitting for these young chicks :rotfl:.
I'm sure my kids have heard me say their dad is immature more than once when they were little (after all, when we got married, he played in a rock band, and while I generally went to the gigs, some things the band did was immature, even with me there. Luckily, he didn't date the groupies LOL! There are some things I think should be off limits, I just don't happen to think saying Jon acts likes he's 15 (especially if it's true) is that big of a deal, when I think of all that she could be saying. Nope, IMO, I just don't think this is a biggy..but I also understand where some might.

I agree with you kidshop--the kids probably hear enough bashing of their father at home and don't need the whole world to hear it too! I think part of the problem is TLC has no control over Jon. They are letting him go around and make a fool of himself and not letting him do interviews. On the other hand, their is someone definately coaching Kate. She went from 2 interviews of "um's" to a more polished approach. You can tell she would like to say a lot more about Jon, but they are holding her back (as much as they can). You can't tell me she is not bashing him at home in front of her kids!

I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on what consitutes bashing. As for what she says at home, I'd be lying if I didn't say that just like many other about to be divorces, stuff will be said about the oposite spouse by both. Although many say it's going to be a nice divorce, it seldom is. I'm actually surprised at how little has been said about each other in public.

if kate is truly interested in trying to get her own talk show then i can see her appearing on the view as a way for her/her "people" to test the waters and see how she does/how people respond.

BINGO!! I totally think this is what's going on. I watched all of Larry King & think Kate is being heavily coached / tutored in public speaking & image. One of the first things I noticed was that even her voice sounded "softer". Not so harsh, loud & fast. She commented on how she is trying to control herself, that her nature is to freak out but she's trying to not do that. Others have noticed her "ummms" were fewer, etc.

Larry asked about her plans after the show ends & she said something to the effect that there were things in the works but she was not able to talk about them. At the end of the show she misunderstood something he said which led to Larry saying " host the show if you want" & Kate was "OK".

As for format of a possible talk show for Kate, if not a celebrity show, I'm sure a single parent tips & lifestyle type show. Nothing like that out there & she could parade the kids out once in awhile for a ratings boost. OOPS, hope I don't give her any ideas!!:rotfl:

Just watching Kate on Larry King.

Answer the questions already Kate!!!!!!!! She has some great media people keeping that big trap closed.
At this point IMHO she is a media hound (I have another name for her but would I get some Dis points).

My mistake, it was Kate who said it. Yes, it was Jon who told that to People Mag. Regardless, my point was that we have an answer to why the tups are only doing jr. kindergarten. I assume they agree on school issues since both of them were there at the bus stop and Kate said they agree on Larry King Live when it comes to school and the kids. I wasn't putting it on Kate or Jon alone. I guess my wording wasn't great or clear.

Somebody on the thread who I can't recall now, mentioned they thought the tups might not be going to full kindergarten because they were preemies. That made sense to me and then this morning I saw that article in People saying the same. Which is why I posted it. I think J&K must agree on school issues or else we'd be hearing about it in some trashy magazine!

I didn't mean to point you out specifically .. I should have made my comments more general. LOL.

I just go back to the idea that Jon and Kate do enough on their own to comment on ... if they made a parenting decision together, good for them. That's what they should be doing, whether someone agrees with their choice or not. And it still may not make sense... nothing is making sense to me right now. I'm up to my eyeballs in soliciting donations for the school festival.

Hey .. maybe I'll contact Zondervan. I could get a signed copy of Multiple Blessings! :lmao:

Another good reason fror junior kindergarten: only 3 days a week. That leaves 4 days for filming!

Is it just me or does Jon seem to be wearing the SAME clothes everyday? Those shorts with the pockets and the v-neck t-shirt. Oh and the baseball cap and sunglasses.

Mix it up a little Jon, but no more Ed Hardy, please!

Love it.

Regarding K's love of herself on camera... I'm with you. I haaaaaaate seeing pictures of myself, let alone video. I can't even stand to hear my voice when I'm the one recording. Even a lot of famous actors don't like watching themselves on screen. That said, it is a certain breed that is delighted to see themselves on camera. Most are under 12 years old. The rest are in the Big Brother house. :happytv: And Kate.

While I agree there's a group that likes to see themselves, doesn't like to see themselves (I generally fit here) and another group who doesn't mind (I try to be in this group), I don't think there's anything "wrong" with being in any group. I made a concious choice to NEVER be in videos or pictures unless we were specifically taking a family picture. Then I started thinking about if something ever happened to me, would my kids remember me and how would I remember important things I've done (with or without kids) without the pictures?? If it's important to me to remember the things, I need to remember that I did that *with* the kids so now I make a point to ask someone else to take the picture so I can be part of it. Now do I get excited to look at those pictures? Not so much (see I answer my own questions like Kate too - that way I know I'll hear the answer I want! :rotfl:) but I am excited for the things in the picture - opening birthday gifts, picking up shells, whatever may be going on. So maybe that's what Kate was thinking too "wow I put up a tent for the first time" and was happy about that. But really, she looks good so I'd be happy to be in pictures if I was that in shape too!

I can't believe The View is having kate as a guest-host when they have talked about her in the past. Isn't that alittle two-faced? Plus when do the kids start school? As a mom, I would be busy getting my kids ready for school and excited about getting them in a positive school routine instead of running off to be on tv.

No - I think the View talks about current topics and I'm sure they've had people co-host or even be guests on the show that they've talked about during "Hot Topics" or something.

it's an equal opportunity bashfest over there. they bash all. :lmao:

:rotfl2: Very true!

if kate is truly interested in trying to get her own talk show then i can see her appearing on the view as a way for her/her "people" to test the waters and see how she does/how people respond.

for the life of me though-i can't figure out what kind of format/style of talk show anyone who develops these could come up with that realy would suit her/market well.

If they can give Brian Botano (sp?) a cooking show, Kate can get a show if she wants one! :rotfl: She could always do something Samantha Brown-ish regarding travel or something like that as it appears that she likes to travel. She could also have a show that constantly has guests on who do the "work" on the show like making a project or cooking something like the segments on the Rachel Ray show about finding deals or refurbing things - Rachel has no clue (as she's admitted on the show) but those types of segments are on often and appear that the viewers like them. OR - Vanna White might retire soon. I think Kate could flip the letters! :lmao:

I don't know that the kids are hearing bashing at home. I don't think that's a fair assumption to make on either side. If anywhere, I'd have to guess from Jon simply because they would overhear him talking with one of the "babysitters"/girlfriends. You have to answer kid's questions and I think (JMHO) that's one of the "better" ways to answer as there are MANY more worse things that could be said (like my parents did). I also don't know that TLC doesn't have control over Jon - they obviously do to an extent if they're able to cancel his interviews, blur what he's wearing on the show and send him a letter about violating his contract with the network. I think Jon's just rebelling everything at this point, much like a teenager would do.

I think it's been common knowledge for awhile now (at least since they announced the divorce) that both J&K have their own "people" now. Maybe Kate's paying more attention to the coaching and advice if she's trying to get her cookbook deal back and keep herself in the media spotlight to persue other options. Jon's made it clear that he doesn't want to continue being "famous" and on tv all the time so maybe he's not seeking or not paying as much attention to that advice.

The picture on the second page makes her look like a president's wife or someone very fancy - not sure what's up with that???

Holy drama! From new reports of photos of Jon kissing another girl (poor Hailey!) to reports the cops were called twice to more surgery for Kate....it's getting almost unbelievable this week!

Not just you, I was wondering this morning if Jon owns other shorts. :lmao: They are probably just his most comfortable pair, I have done that as well.

I also don't consider Kate saying that Jon has behaved as a 15 year old as bashing either. Pretty mild considering the choices he has made.

ITA! The real measure of what should be considered bad-mouthing is whether the kids should be hearing their mother saying things like that about their father - not quite the same as when she bad-mouthed him during their marriage, since she is now making comments which essentially say Jon doesn't care enough about the kids. I feel the same way about her statement that she had to file for divorce to protect her children.

And whether it is true or not makes no difference. There is a huge difference between a tabloid saying something about their dad and their mother saying it. Sure, in the end she might be able to make her kids hate their father but what will she have gained? JMHO, I know there are a lot of people on this thread with some very strong feelings against Jonn so maybe they don't mind what Kate says about him, but it's not like were talking about a child molestor or a serial killer here.

I think she should have been the better person and not done an article at all....or declined to comment anything on Jon or what he is doing.

I did however completely agree with her saying that him introducing the kids to another woman is too soon. I think that is just as confusing as their mother still wearing her wedding ring.

I think that picture on page 2 looks like her introduction into figure skating! Maybe she's been taking lessons from Tanya Harding.

She also says Jon sold her out and was overtaken by aliens in her People article. My point is Jon has done stupid things and I just don't see how Kate putting herself in magazines and news shows every week to keep bringing it up is BETTER than what Jon has done. Neither of them is bringing their kids peace or privacy. Oh and that little tidbit about how wonderful it would be if she met a real man with integrity so her boys would have a role model (slam!)

This is Kate who was never kind or loving or respectful to Jon (or anyone) all those years on TV.

I don't think the kids have met Hailey yet and all the stuff about the babysitter is just rumors. Jon is an idiot, don't get me wrong. But Kate is no better and she proves it over and over.

I thought she looked beautiful in the picture. In fact I think it's the hair. It looks so nice like that.

maybe the outfit was a bit much though.

Agreed.

Again I think she would have stuck to an article about her and left her feelings about Jon out of it....or not done the article at all.

Re: the bus video.

My God, what a self-serving conceited woman Kate is. If she didn't want papparrazi following her around, how about watching your kids get on the bus and then LEAVING? Why was it necessary to hang around the bus entrance apologizing (Sorry boys that need to board the bus. Kate Gosselin is much more important than you.) Then she makes it an even bigger spectacle by getting on the bus herself! Of course the paps are going to wait for her to get off the bus. I'd be appalled if I was another parent. Everything is not about YOU and your famous, important, inspiring family, Kate. And Jon? Get off the damn phone.

These people really need to get over themselves.

Mady and Cara looked cute.
