I think they'll be nice to her. I stopped watching a year ago because I couldn't stand Elisabeth anymore and Joy's jokes were getting stale, IMO. I'm sure they will throw her softballs and pick topics that are relevant to her.

Didn't she say before she wants her own talk show? Maybe this is a "trial run" of sorts.

I'd rather listen to Kate Gosselin (or Jon Gosselin, or Shooka Gosselin for that matter) talk than Elisabeth Hasselbeck any day.

I enjoy the View. I can't stand Elisabeth though, I will be enjoying her maternity leave :thumbsup2.

“Sometimes I feel like its a 15-year-old I'm getting divorced from,” Kate said.

---Totally agree.

Gosselin told the magazine she is mortified at the idea of Jon's beer-drinking, pot-smoking gal pal Hailey Glassman spending time around the children.

"I don't care if she were the most upstanding, marvelous, full-of-integrity person in the world, it is just too soon," Kate said.

---Exactly, it is far too soon for the kids.

Kate Gosselin to sub as a co-host on `The View'

NEW YORK – ABC is adding Kate Gosselin (GAHS'-lihn) to the list of guest co-hosts for "The View."

Celebrity mom Gosselin will be subbing for regular "View" co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck on Sept. 14 and 15. Hasselbeck is on maternity leave after giving birth to her third child, Isaiah, earlier this month.

That should be interesting!

Here's the link to the Larry King Live transcript from last night with Kate:

Thank you for sharing! :goodvibes

I thought that as well actually! I think Kate might do a better job on a "talk show" with a group instead of just her.

VIDEO: Jon Gosselin Unimpressed By Kate's Latest Media Blitz

Jon Gosselin, speaking outside his Wernersville, Pennsylvania home Wednesday morning, said his wife Kate danced around questions during her Larry King Live appearance Tuesday night. Despite that shot at the mother of his eight children, Jon reserved his words toward a People Magazine feature in which Kate compared his behavior to that of a horny teenager.

"She didn't say anything," the 32-year-old reality TV dad said of Kate's appearance on Larry King Live. "She just kept on redirecting and avoiding the questions -- so when Larry's ready for me, I can answer questions"

When asked about the new article in People, titled "Kate Strikes Back," Jon laughed and said, "Strikes back at what?"

In regards to the article, which Kate takes jabs at a pair of Jon's lady friends (Hailey Glassman, Stephanie Santoro), Jon said, "We'll see ... I can't really comment on that but I'm sure in the future, I'll have plenty to say."

Jon & Kate Plus 8 airs Mondays at 9/8c on TLC.

I may be looking too much into this but for some reason that comment plus the LKL interview makes me think he won't be on the show anymore.

EXCLUSIVE: Real Reason Kate Called Cops On Jon - What She’s Not Telling

Kate Gosselin has been candid in her many recent national TV interviews – but she has held back from revealing all of the details about some of her family’s recent headline-making moments.

VIDEO: Kate Gosselin All Smiles As She Preps For Larry King

One of Jon and Kate’s more infamous moments came recently when she showed up at their Wernersville, PA home and Jon refused to let her in, saying it wasn’t her turn with the kids. Kate called the police and ultimately had to leave the property and stayed in a local hotel.

Kate briefly touched on the subject during her Larry King Live interview Tuesday night, but she didn’t divulge the key details, RadarOnline.com has learned.

The real reason Kate showed up at the house that night – knowing it wasn’t her turn to be with the kids – was because she heard Jon was going out drinking and leaving the kids with babysitter Stephanie Santoro, a source told RadarOnline.com exclusively.

Jon and Santoro spent a previous night together and RadarOnline.com obtained exclusive photos of Stephanie leaving the Gosselin house hours after going home with Jon, who “hired” her as a babysitter after his split with Kate. (And Stephanie did the ”Walk of Shame,” wearing the same clothes as the night before.)

Kate believed it would be better for the children to spend the night with their mom rather than Stephanie when she heard Jon was going out. That’s why she showed up at the house the night police were called. But, even though she has been questioned heavily about the incident, Kate has refused to divulge why she was at the house that night.

And Jon, who insists his relationship with Stephanie follows the Professional Babysitting Code, has not mentioned Kate’s real reason for being at the house and calling the police.

Last night on Larry King she said it was because she had a bad day and wanted to be with the kids. She also mentioned that the kids weren't around when the argument/police thing happened.

I thought Kate wasn't going to talk about Jon at all and certainly not bad-mouth him? Ok, then.

I despise the View, and add me to the list that doesn't think Kate has anything to offer. Although, none of them really do which is why I don't watch!

Maybe it is too soon for the kids for Kate to make the media rounds every week to trash their father.

Kate has been candid in her interviews? I didn't watch but the consensus was pretty much what Jon said...she didn't really answer anything (it's private for the kids, you know...don't mind me while I'm on national TV). This sounds to me like more PR for Kate. Jon has to take the fall for her and TLC so the show can go on. I'm not buying, but they're still selling!

I absolutely cannot stand Kathie Lee Gifford, they way she speaks and moves her hands just drives me nutso, but I watched her for the first five minutes because Larry asked her about Kate and she didn't seem too friendly or supportive. She said she thought Kate's life would be easier away from the cameras and she never had cameras in her home except for a Christmas special.

I do not like her either. And for her to say anything about Gosselin's and cameras and sharing their kids lives is just crazy to me. How long did we hear Cody's every move. Cody this and Cody that...

She did say something I liked though.

She said that Paul Newman (who I adored) taught her that "if you have a pulse, you have a purpose."
I absolutely will try to take that with me every day. :)

What did Jon want her to say at this point?

I agree about the "striking back" - it's a childish game but he's said some pretty rude comments about Kate that I've read.

So is Jon saying when he's out of contract he's going to spill his guts about everything?? I would think TLC has some kind of clause/confidentiality agreement that they can't talk about what happened while filming the show or at least not until they're done taping the show (if it goes on without him). I don't think Jon's got enough money to fight TLC and has to play by their rules right now.

I didn't watch the interview but read the transcript this morning/afternoon and I thought between that and the previous articles, she'd said that she wanted to spend time with the kids instead of the sitter because Jon was going out? Maybe I misread that but that's what's in my brain right now.

Jon was also the one standing at the fence the next morning telling people she (Kate) didn't agree with his choice of a babysitter. Maybe TLC should make it an electric fence and he'd learn to stay back???

I agree (for the first time I think! :flower3:) that I don't know that she was "candid" although I didn't watch either - just read today. She opened up a bit more but if TLC's contract is so tight that Jon can't do interviews and stuff, maybe they're really not able to say anymore. Kate did mention something about the contract last night and following those rules or something? I'm sure TLC has a darned good contract and neither J or K have the money to fight them unless TLC does something totally crazy to put someone in danger or something like that I would think.

Electric fence. :lmao: The Radar article was the first I heard about Jon going out so maybe I missed previous articles or misheard Kate. My initial impression after reading the article was that Kate was "taking the blame" for the incident by saying she was having a bad day and just wanted to see the kids. Like she didn't want to bring up Jon going out when it was his turn with the kids. If that article is true and their custody arrangement is as peaceful as they claim, why can't the other parent have first crack to be with the kids if the other needs to be gone for a few hours? Seems silly to have a babysitter around when a parent is available and willing.

I think she was bad mouthing Hailey, not Jon in this sentence that you posted:

********
Gosselin told the magazine she is mortified at the idea of Jon's beer-drinking, pot-smoking gal pal Hailey Glassman spending time around the children.

"I don't care if she were the most upstanding, marvelous, full-of-integrity person in the world, it is just too soon," Kate said.
********

If calling Jon a 15 year old is the worse she has to say right now, I'd say she's doing a good job of stepping on her mouth. I always thought bad mouthing was when you said something bad (and often incorrect). If it's the truth, is it still bad mouthing LOL?

I agree with Jon..she didn't say much of anything last night on LK. I can't wait for the view. I seldom watch the view because I can't stand Whoopi or Elizabeth (who's only claim to fame is Survivor and her husband), but I'll watch this because I want to see what they ask her.

Thanks for the link. No earth shattering news, but hey. Kate has this stupid habit that I hate. It seems like it's the thing to do these days... ask yourself questions and then answer them, rather than just making a point. For example:

And do I have my opinions?

Absolutely.

Do I need to discuss them?

Probably not.

God that drives me nuts. I'd rather hear her ummmm her way through an interview than use this useless speech trend.

:lmao: This drives my sister crazy too. She even made it her Facebook status once. She wrote, "Deos Kate Gosselin ask herself questions and then answer them? Yes she does. Do I hate that? Absolutely."

I thought Kate was much less "umm"-y on LKL than on any other interview I've ever seen of her.

Just a random observation- I thought it was interesting to watch Kate watch footage of herself when they showed clips from the show. Do you ever watch yourself on camera and cringe? No? Maybe it's just me. Kate seemed to be absolutely delighted with herself saying "da da DA!" about putting a tent up and whatnot. Not that there's anything wrong with that. She just really seems to enjoy herself. Good for her.

:rotfl2: That is hilarious!

Love it.

Regarding K's love of herself on camera... I'm with you. I haaaaaaate seeing pictures of myself, let alone video. I can't even stand to hear my voice when I'm the one recording. Even a lot of famous actors don't like watching themselves on screen. That said, it is a certain breed that is delighted to see themselves on camera. Most are under 12 years old. The rest are in the Big Brother house. :happytv: And Kate.

I don't know, what would the kids think? I don't think most people would carry on about their divorce in such a public manner. If you think Kate is taking the high road and her calling Jon a 15 y/o won't harm the kids, more power to you. But, IMO she is equal to Jon when it comes to things the kids will cringe about both now and later. True or not, a mother concerned for her children and their privacy(or one concerned about their relationship with their father) does not go on a media blitz. Period.

I might have misheard but I think Larry mentioned that Jon declined to give a statement and decline to appear on the show (Larry King Live). I wonder why? I thought he wanted to do he E! interview to tell his side..

TLC has not released Jon to do any TV media. I'm several pages behind, so I'm sure you all know by now he's spoken to People today, backpedaling on what he said yesterday. IMO, that means, someone told him to retract his statements, especially about the children not wanting to film.

Kate is also scheduled to be a co-host on The View next month. Not a surprise. The 45 days are over, and her agent is likely making several bookings to test how she'd do in the talk show market. I'll be VERY curious to see how she holds her own on that show... especially without fellow young mom Elizabeth Hasselbeck there.

Off to catch up on my reading .. and actually watch LKL tonight about Ted Kennedy.

I only watched a clip of the Larry King interview. Kate still said "um" but she seemed more in control of her speech. As a side note, I thought she sure looked good. Even with the crazy hairdo.

I saw the end, and one other clip of the interview. She's still not answering a lot of questions, reverting back to the rehearsed speech. That's likely to continue. The ums were better last night. She seemed tense about what he was asking, like she was gripping the chair out of sight. So far, it's been the better of the 3 interviews in how she answered things (not necessarily what she said), I think.
