I still think this was about money, Jon plans on having a very successful future doing a reality tv show with Michael Lohan about divorced dads. And the little blurb his lawyer gave about Jon wanting to be a role model for other divorced dads fits right in with the show he wants to do.

Yeah, I heard that too and I had to roll my eyes at that one. Good luck with that Jon.

Just curious ~ Does anyone know what network they're aiming for with this Divorced Dads show?

Jon! You are saying everything I have always wanted you to say! I don't care why or why now. He is saying it!!

I do, I believe him! I'm laughing about the motorcycle thing.(I'm watching tivo) That's why I believe him though. He said the part that WAS true. When he speaks he tells the truth I just feel it.

He talked to Jodi!!
:goodvibes

I haven't heard other than it will be a cable based reality show. I don't think a network has even picked it up yet but I don't know for sure.

Also from this interview, Larry asked Jon if he plans on marrying Hailey and Jon replied that he doesn't know yet. He went on to talk about how she hasn't been around the kids.

I hope that Jon has enough sense once the time is right, to have Hailey spend plenty of time around the children, so she can get a sense of what having 8 kids around half the time would be like. I would hate to see him marry again only to find that his new wife prefer the children not be around. 22 is awfully young for such responsibility.

What a load of crap that Jon and his lawyer threw out tonight! I do not believe a single word that came out of Jon's mouth. He jumped on the end the show brandwagon because TLC was going to cut him out and not let him do the other show he wanted to do for another network. THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE KIDS or his "concern" for the kids. He is a jerk. I hate him now more than ever.

His lawyer was a complete idiot!

I really feel for Kate for putting up with Jon for 10 years! He is something else!

He said they have the proof that they wanted this a few weeks ago. What will you say when (if) this proof comes out?

We know Mady hasn't enjoyed it in the past. Someone today posted her 'no filming' sign on the thread. I agree though, I wish he'd have said why. Although he did say that he wants them to work on this as a family and I suppose that would be difficult to do with the kids filming with Kate and then with him. I'm sure his reasons are partly (ok mostly) selfish but I do think he believes the kids need space to deal with all this. It will be interesting to see what Kate says next or what proceedings take place regarding the kids.

Except for during the show, Jon has rarely talked about his kids the way Kate has. The one example he gave of TLC expecting the kids to film when it was 96 degrees was more his style.

I think Kate's lawyer is a TLC lawyer. The TLC statement also seemed like it was saying something similar. DUH, he's the father, that's what gives him the right. I thought Kate's lawyer seemed really arrogant.

It was interesting that Jon's lawyer asked for clarification of who the guy was, since they hadn't heard of him. I agree -- he was pretty arrogant.

Why doesn't Jon's attorney want to go to court? He said more than once that he guarantees TLC will not shoot another episode and yet it was quite obvious he does not want to go to court. They wanted to do this on tv in the "court of public opinion"...good grief.

A very good divorce attorney once told me that the best divorce agreements were written on a paper napkin by the parents in a coffee shop -- a lot of lawyers believe this. They think it's better for the parents to start learning how to communicate about the kids and stop fighting the battles that got them divorced when there are no serious issues re the safety of the children.

Plus, all of the motions that Jon's lawyer filed this week would be a matter of public record, so it would become public either way. And I think that since TLC considers Jon to be in breach of contract that going to the court of public opinion was a wise move -- they'll be less likely to go ahead with a law suit IMO based on what Jon said tonight. Also, his lawyer brought up the point that TLC agreed to stop taping following the divorce announcement if either parent felt that taping was detrimental to the children -- however, TLC has failed to honour that.

22,500, huh? that's not so much. I LOVE how the lawyer said the show was a scripted production. IT WAS! Many of us have been saying that forever. No judge would disagree with that or the fact that continuing the show is harmful to the kids.

I just feel so bad for their kids. They are BOTH at fault for this.

I can't imagine having the entire country chomping at the bit for the personal details of my parent's collapsing marriage. And it's Jon and Kate's fault for putting it out there.

I mean it has to be so embarrassing especially for the older two.

He said it again. Kate came to him in October and said it was over. That's true folks. since kate can't 'remember', what else is to be believed?

yes their life is the show and the show is their life. and Jon wants it to stop. I think this may do it!

I think TLC should pick it up - with a clause that they don't want Jon on it. K-Fed & Lohan would drop him like a hot potato & take the $$$$ :lmao:

Hilarious!! And you are so right! :lmao:

ETA: With Jon's reputation in the toilet, do you think anyone will watch this show? (The Divorced Dads...) Do you think this is a show that has any chance at longevity?

I agree with both of these posts.

I would both love and hate to be a fly on the wall during the custody hearing. I can just imagine it -- Jon saying the first thing that comes into his head, and Kate repeating the scripted and well-rehearsed phrases. It's all going to come down to whether or not the kids should be doing the show.

I knew Jon's lawyer looked familiar...

Looks like Jon met this guy through Michael Lohan....and it's all about the kids.:sad2:

Yes, his attorney for the divorce is Mark Heller (also represented Son of Sam killer, David Berkowitz and some Manhatten madam) and his son is Mike Heller a high-power entertainment lawyer that is friends with Michael Lohan. Jon seems to trust the wrong type of people these days.

I feel the exact same way, I am glad I am not alone! He has wanted the end of the show since the end of last season. He has made the fact he was not happy with it known for a long time now.

The saying you can not fire me I quit comes from some where.:) TLC of course is going to stand behind Kate she wants to continue the show which makes TLC money. Jon has made the fact that he is unhappy with the whole situation known for a while so they pick the side that would help them continue on with their most popular show. It makes sense from a business stand point, they want money. That's my thoughts on their sudden impact.

I feel bad for those kids. They are stuck in the middle of a really bad situation and no matter if they stop the show or not they kids are still in the middle of two parents who just can not seem to get a long.

The PR teams of TLC and Kate are so entangled at this point that it's pretty hard to tell who is doing the talking. IMO, Kate may truly believe the show is ok for the kids but she also believes her own hype a bit too much (as she did at the charity function over the weekend).

I feel bad for the kids too, but they're going to have so much more free time now -- they need that. It will be like a (real) vacation for them. Now at least they have the space they need to have real feelings about what they're going through, without everybody watching them. But I'm sure Kate will give us detailed updates, including quotes, about how much they miss the camera crews.

I actually believe Jon that this in the works a few weeks ago. I do not believe it was due to Jon's "epiphany" though. I believe Jon (and his lawyer) are mad that TLC won't release him to do other shows...i.e. Divorced Dads. Seeing the picture of the lawyer on the beach with Jon and Micheal Lohan confirms it even more to me. Jon is a pretty big "draw" right now...who the heck cares about sleazy Michael Lohan? Nobody would watch a show just about him. His kids don't even speak to him. So, Jon says "I can't do the show, TLC won't let me." Michael Lohan directs him to this lawyer, the lawyer says "I can get you out of that contract." and here we are.

In watching Larry King again, seriously the kids are mentioned very little. I mean they are talked about, but in no way did I get the impression of true concern for them due to the filming of the show. It sounded good, Jon wanted to drop a bombshell, TLC stole his thunder and it seemed like an afterthought after everything else that happened on Tuesday and Wednesday.

I’m watching the Larry King repeat right now and while I want to believe that Jon has changed and is doing this with his kids’ best interest at heart, it’s a little hard. He said that as soon as he hired Heller to be his lawyer, they worked on stopping the show. Well, the lawyer change was announced by Radar on Sept 15 (http://www.radaronline.com/exclusives/2009/09/exclusive-jon-gosselin-changes-divorce-lawyers).. I don’t know how long he changed lawyers before it was announced but on Sept 16 (http://www.radaronline.com/exclusives/2009/09/exclusive-jon-gets-rid-his-dogs-blames-kate), Jon had no problem letting paps film him taking his kids’ dogs away and their reactions. :confused3 I find it weird that he'll allow that when he said the reason why filming is unhealthy for the kids is because of the divorce because the dogs leaving is related to the divorce.

I noticed that Jon likes to say "moving forward" too (I counted at least 4 times!). It made me laugh cause everyone gives Kate such a hard time about it.

Anyways, back to the show.
