I'm not sure I agree 100% with what you're saying, but I do agree that there should be Jon's money, Kate's money and the children's money.

I also think it would have been a good idea for a neutral party be assigned to managing the family finances.
I do agree with you that there should have been a good portion carved out for the children and put in the hands of a neutral trustee to protect the children's interests. I would hope this is some sort of rule that comes out in the future for kids in reality television, similar to what happened for child actors.

more about Jon's show .. RadarOnline claims it's exclusive, but I'm not sure about that since it was on TMZ, LOL

Did you see some of the comments after this article. OMG! :rotfl: That was more fun reading than the actual article. :goodvibes

I hope it wasn't just for the cameras, but even so, it's better than another freebie or trip.

Just adding in more gossip. I hadn't heard this before but on another blog (I did not follow last year) validates it was Kate. They posted about it when it happened (last year):

Cover Up of Reality Star’s Hit and Run
Even though cameras seem to follow reality stars constantly, there are still many incidents that never make it to your small screen. For example, it wasn’t until recently that you learned that this reality couple split up last year, but continued to act like a couple for the cameras for at least eight months after the breakup. With the encouragement of the show’s producers, they covered up the truth for the sake of ratings and dollars.

Here’s another example: It seems that one star of the same show was involved in a hit and run last year, but managed to completely skirt any legal ramifications. She hit a parked car, causing substantial damage, but continued on her way without stopping. Well, witnesses wrote down the license number - which was not difficult to remember as it was a vanity plate - and the police soon came knocking at her door. According to two different neighbors, the reality star began yelling “I did not stop because I’m a public figure! You can’t charge me, I’m a public figure!” Despite this admission of guilt, she was never charged with a crime, nor was it ever mentioned on the reality show. Fast payouts to the municipality and to the car’s owner may have had the effect of soothing ruffled feathers and rumpled fenders.

Ed Hardy designer Christian Audigier knew Michael Jackson. He partied with Michael Jackson. And Jon Gosselin is no Michael Jackson.

At least not when it comes to people he had plans to collaborate with on potential clothing lines. (Among any number of other distinctions.)

Despite reports to the contrary, spurred on by an Audigier-funded trip to St.-Tropez for Gosselin and girlfriend Hailey Glassman, the T-shirt purveyor tells E! News that the only celebrity he ever discussed going into business with was the King of Pop.

"I invited him to my birthday," Audigier says of Jackson. "And he showed up. It was his last public appearance. He was testing [the public mood about him] at my party. So we became friends. He told me one day he would like to collaborate with me on a collection."

A binding contract if ever there was one. Too bad no such deal ever existed with The Lying Channel's No. 1 dad.

"I never said I was going to do a line with Jon Gosselin. I don't want to do a line with Jon Gosselin."

Well, not this week, anyway...

"Jon is going to give me a visit in Las Vegas because there is a trade show, Magic," Audigier says, adding that he was open to the idea of a collaboration, but not on a much-rumored children's line, as he doesn't "want to use their kids to wear my clothes."

"He is going to come...a week from today, and he is going to become more familiar with the product."

And, we presume, pose for a photo or two along the way.

But their frequent conversations have never quite crossed over from personal to professional.

"He calls me every two days to see what is going on. He is talking about his kids a lot."

As for other jobs Gosselin doesn't have but seems to think he does: Audigier says that, despite appearances, the reality dad is not a paid spokesman for his clothing brand. (Though he has been the recipient of a seemingly endless gift box and is, like it or not, the brand's unofficial ambassador.)

He may soon go pro with his shilling, however, and become a spokesman for another Ed Hardy offshoot. We think.

"He is really into bikes, so he want to do something around bikes so he can be the spokesperson for one of my brands on bikes."

Now that that's all cleared up...

About the photo op that started it all, Audigier says he originally flew Gosselin and Glassman to France earlier this summer simply because "he was wearing a lot of Christian Audigier every day, so I said, 'I want to meet this guy.'"

"I just invite him because I see him on the Jon & Kate show asking for job. So I was curious to see what he was asking people for which kind of job."

Apparently, Audigier's viewing of Jon & Kate Plus 8 was a one-time-only deal, as evidenced by his bafflement over Gosselin's plus-one for the trip.

Upon accepting Audigier's invitation, the reality dad took it upon himself to request a second ticket.

"He told me he was coming with his stylist. It appeared his stylist was Hailey. A week after, I discovered those two guys were together. I didn't even know that Jon and Kate were not together."

Well, we knew there had to be someone.

I wasn't the Gosselin follower I am now a year ago so I googled and this is part of the article I came up with:

I'd love to hear Kate fans' defense for the time Kate accidentally hit a parked car, but then drove off without leaving a note. Witnesses took her license plate and later, cops showed up at her door. Is raising eight kids a valid excuse for a hit-and-run, too? The "stress" of raising all those kids might have caused her to hit the car, but what caused her to drive off without leaving a note? What kind of person pulls a stunt like this? I'm sure if it were YOUR car, you'd make no excuses for the driver!

I think the link is being blurred because it's from "Associated Content"....sorry!!

In regards to the letter from TLC, why did they wait this long to send the letter??? He's been out for MONTHS and they just now decided to ask him to stop?? That doesn't make sense to me at all!

I also find it hard to believe that more of these court proceedings aren't "leaking" out either - wouldn't the paps see that neither are home or someone spot them at the court house? I'd think they know the vehicles pretty well by now and I'm sure people know them by sight (at least some people).

Tonight's the octomom special....should be interesting to see how that goes - I don't think I can watch her for 15 minutes let alone two hours!

I thought when that happened, Kate called it in, and said she was afraid to stop? I don't remember why. I thought this was a couple of years ago and at the time, no one thought it was a big deal. I also thought the car was empty and the damage was repaired.
Did we not discuss that here at the time? Or am I mixing up my celebrities/boards LOL?

There might be someone managing it and the kids may have a healthy portion. I doubt (IMO) the only one putting money in the kids accounts is Kate. Jon has said the kids have nice bank accounts. If the house is in their names, that's a nice investment.

I hope it wasn't just for the cameras, but even so, it's better than another freebie or trip.

I've read more than one report that Jon is traveling with his own paparazzo these days .. so anything he's doing (good or bad) doesn't seem terribly genuine. Making a trip to a hospital seems like an attempt to change his image to me.

you know, I think I read about that .. can't remember it if it was at blindgossip or the blogs, though. I love blindgossip, not just about JK8, about celebs in general. LOL.

I agree, completely. Until someone produces actual financial records (which, I'm not suggesting anyone do), we can speculate all day long about the money. It will always remain one of the, if not the biggest missing piece to the JK8 puzzle.

I'm more than a little skeptical about the article about the finances, anyway. LOL...

Jon Gosselin might have multiple kids – but the newly divorced dad won’t have multiple reality shows.

On Wednesday, TMZ reported the Octo-dad is in talks to join Endemol’s new reality show, tentatively titled “Divorced Dad’s Club.” However, a rep from the production company told Access Hollywood that report is false.

“No, we are not in talks with him as he is under contract with TLC,” the Endemol rep told Access. “But, our show is currently in development although casting is not finalized yet.”

Though Jon is not in talks to join the series, his camp did reportedly contact the production company.

I might have found this article more credible if they hadn't asked that Lohan man for a quote.

I agree about the Michael Lohan credibility gap. :goodvibes Why oh why would Jon hang around with someone like him? Yuck. ML always makes me think of Joey Buttafuco for some reason, maybe because they have similiar sleeze factors.

But according to what he said in the Utah interview, he had already been doing things like that -- just wasn't publicized since he was doing it on his own.

I hope it wasn't just for the cameras, but even so, it's better than another freebie or trip.

:scared1::scared1:

What a team.

Interesting response 'At least someone is asking'...If it turns out Jon had all the dirt but never let on, he will improve in my eyes a few points.

Or it could have just been part of a quote, as in "At least someone is asking me if it is true, because I've already said it didn't happen" And even if it did, it would have been after the actual separation so I don't think he'd consider it cheating either.

Jon & Kate are going to be like these lottery winners who have nothing and win a big jackpot and end up with nothing. For the kids sake I hope that trust funds were set up from the beginning and this money wasn't blown on dumb stuff. Oh wait, they never pay for anything, its all donated or sponsored, or freebie.
Seriously, these kids are going to end up with nothing. There parents don't have the sense to support them without TLC paying for stuff.
It won't be long before this show is done. Word on the net is that it is overly boring. I agree!

Back when the Star Magazine story came out about Kate buying a condo across from Steve N's (which she denies, and other people in the building say she did, and it's a tabloid so who knows who is telling the truth :cutie:), in the message board section about that story there was a interesting comment about Kate being seen with Steve N in Austin while she was on a speaking engagement:

she is loving on him right now at Eddie V's in Austin. Lots of PDA, obviously thinks we don't have TVs in Texas.
-- Traci, 31

Now IF that was true and someone took a pic of that PDA, I would sure like to see that picture! That picture would be worth a lot of $$$$$, almost like winning the lottery (which reminds me to check my Powerball ticket because I'm sure I won tonight :rotfl:)

:surfweb:

Why do you think that? I've not seen anything that points to either Jn or Kate not saving money for the future. While I'm more inclined to think that Kate is the bigger saver over Jon (because I seldom see her with anything expensive), I also have not seen anything that points to them not loving their children and wanting to save for their futres.
If I was on a show, and people wanted to pay for things like a trip to Disney, or the beach, and that was going to be part of the show, anyway, why would I be expected to pay? Why is it a bad thing to accept it? Same with the clothes that Kate and the kids wear..why is it a bad thing that that is included with their pay?
Not being snarky..I honestly don't get why anyone would think that was bad.

Also curious as to where on the net that people think the show is boring. The people who say they are watching it on this thread have been saying it has been good, myself included. Tension seems to be gone and Kate and the kids seem to be having a lot of fun.

ratings for last night's episode: 3 million viewers, down from 3.4 million a week ago.

We had a major storm in the Philly area & the power was out for hours maybe that counts for the .4;)
:welcome:

I don't believe we ever found out the event that forced Kate to file, as she said. Of course, Jon has been acting like a rebellious teenager of late, so there are many things to chose from that may have angered Kate so she filed for divorce.

I've wondered many a time what the reasons were for the old crew to have switched to the Duggar's show instead. It does seem realistic to think they moved because J&K's fighting, etc. However, we just don't know for sure. I kind of always thought Jon and Kate clashed in the clips where we see them interacting so perhaps Kate asked for a new crew. All of that info. about the crew leaving and why came from Kevin & Jodi's confession. But I take that with a grain of salt...they'd been off the show for awhile before the old crew left so I'm wondering how they'd (Kevin & Jodi) even know that.:confused3 Ah, so much drama, so much drama!

Could they have gone to the Duggars because they were more experienced with this type of show with the Duggars being new?

I think Kate will hold on to her part of the money & everyone of these kids will have college & beyond funds.

If the rumors of Johns crazy spending is true maybe that was the straw that made Kate file.

Why would he buy a 2 door car with 8 kids:confused3
