I do agree with you that there should have been a good portion carved out for the children and put in the hands of a neutral trustee to protect the children's interests. I would hope this is some sort of rule that comes out in the future for kids in reality television, similar to what happened for child actors.I'm not sure I agree 100% with what you're saying, but I do agree that there should be Jon's money, Kate's money and the children's money.
I also think it would have been a good idea for a neutral party be assigned to managing the family finances.
Did you see some of the comments after this article. OMG!more about Jon's show .. RadarOnline claims it's exclusive, but I'm not sure about that since it was on TMZ, LOL

I hope it wasn't just for the cameras, but even so, it's better than another freebie or trip.
Just adding in more gossip. I hadn't heard this before but on another blog (I did not follow last year) validates it was Kate. They posted about it when it happened (last year):

Cover Up of Reality Star’s Hit and Run
Even though cameras seem to follow reality stars constantly, there are still many incidents that never make it to your small screen. For example, it wasn’t until recently that you learned that this reality couple split up last year, but continued to act like a couple for the cameras for at least eight months after the breakup. With the encouragement of the show’s producers, they covered up the truth for the sake of ratings and dollars.
Here’s another example: It seems that one star of the same show was involved in a hit and run last year, but managed to completely skirt any legal ramifications. She hit a parked car, causing substantial damage, but continued on her way without stopping. Well, witnesses wrote down the license number - which was not difficult to remember as it was a vanity plate - and the police soon came knocking at her door. According to two different neighbors, the reality star began yelling “I did not stop because I’m a public figure! You can’t charge me, I’m a public figure!” Despite this admission of guilt, she was never charged with a crime, nor was it ever mentioned on the reality show. Fast payouts to the municipality and to the car’s owner may have had the effect of soothing ruffled feathers and rumpled fenders.
I thought when that happened, Kate called it in, and said she was afraid to stop? I don't remember why. I thought this was a couple of years ago and at the time, no one thought it was a big deal. I also thought the car was empty and the damage was repaired.Heres another example: It seems that one star of the same show was involved in a hit and run last year, but managed to completely skirt any legal ramifications. There might be someone managing it and the kids may have a healthy portion. I doubt (IMO) the only one putting money in the kids accounts is Kate. Jon has said the kids have nice bank accounts. If the house is in their names, that's a nice investment.
I might have found this article more credible if they hadn't asked that Lohan man for a quote.

What a team.
Interesting response 'At least someone is asking'...If it turns out Jon had all the dirt but never let on, he will improve in my eyes a few points.

Jon & Kate are going to be like these lottery winners who have nothing and win a big jackpot and end up with nothing. For the kids sake I hope that trust funds were set up from the beginning and this money wasn't blown on dumb stuff. Oh wait, they never pay for anything, its all donated or sponsored, or freebie.
Seriously, these kids are going to end up with nothing. There parents don't have the sense to support them without TLC paying for stuff.
It won't be long before this show is done. Word on the net is that it is overly boring. I agree!
ratings for last night's episode: 3 million viewers, down from 3.4 million a week ago.

I don't believe we ever found out the event that forced Kate to file, as she said. Of course, Jon has been acting like a rebellious teenager of late, so there are many things to chose from that may have angered Kate so she filed for divorce.
I've wondered many a time what the reasons were for the old crew to have switched to the Duggar's show instead. It does seem realistic to think they moved because J&K's fighting, etc. However, we just don't know for sure. I kind of always thought Jon and Kate clashed in the clips where we see them interacting so perhaps Kate asked for a new crew. All of that info. about the crew leaving and why came from Kevin & Jodi's confession. But I take that with a grain of salt...they'd been off the show for awhile before the old crew left so I'm wondering how they'd (Kevin & Jodi) even know that.Ah, so much drama, so much drama!
