I like Gold Star way better than Skyline!

I miss Cincinnati food!

I'm weird about the chili .. if I'm eating it from the restaurant, I prefer Gold Star. But if I'm bringing home some from Kroger's, I want Skyline. Right now, I'd settle for either one. LOLOL

Other than our friends, I think the food is the thing we miss the most about living in Northern Kentucky. I saw a sign for a goetta festival this weekend, which made me laugh .. because it's such a Cincinnati thing. I don't like goetta, not even a little bit, but I don't know that any of my friends 3 hours south of Cincinnati even know what goetta is!

I was born in Lexington and have lived in L-ville area for the last 10 years, I bet I've been to Cincy tons of times. I've never heard of goetta. I have been to both the Cincy and Newport Octoberfests.

Ewwww! Yuck! Sounds awful! I'm only 4 hours from Cincinatti and I'm even half German and I've still never heard of it. I think we'll be passing on the Goetta while were in Cinci. Thanks for the warning.

Sacrilege!!! Nothing tops a Skyline 5-Way!!!

Ed Hardy clothing is by a French designer named Chrisitian Audigier. The line is based on the tattoo artist named Don Ed Hardy. Christian also designs for Affliction, another biggie here in SoCal. AND Christian started with the Von Dutch line of clothing of which Ashton Kutcher wears most of the time.

I guess I'm just not seeing the whole "trailer park trash chic" thing. Anyone else?

No, I think Ed Hardy is just tacky. I guess it falls into the urban chic...but that doesn't really fit Jon and Reading, PA.

I will be completely honest I did not watch allot of the J&K8 shows...but one show I did watch was the time Jon bought the new shower head for the new house and failed to use a coupon and Kate went BALLISITIC on him..."you did not use a coupon, take it down, you know you are always suppose to use a coupon, take it down and return it and you are not to shop again"....off she walks in a rage.

NOW NOW NOW look at this....

Jon strolled into Madison Avenue men’s shop Pravda Abbigliamento last week and bought a $950 pair of limited-edition, navy, patent-leather, wingtip shoes from Prada.

So Jon has gone from shower heads w/coupons to $950.00 Prada shoes w/o a coupon.

J&K did not make all these HUGE purchases when they were doing the show...DID THEY???

Not that was filmed. I do know that Kate talked about worrying how they would send the kids to college in Sept 08 at a church appearance. That was just before they moved into the 1.3 million dollar house.

when was her Oprah appearance? My dh had it on last week and I heard in passing that Kate said there was never enough money.

there seems to be plenty of money now and they are still doing the show, btw.

Just from what we (the general public) has seen, I'd say no. they weren't. But with that said, pretty much everything we've seen has been provided to them in one way or another through their work on the show. Interest in what Jon and Kate do wasn't an issue until this Spring, so who knows?

One of the things that's surprised me in recent months is that they've never gotten a newer van. It seems like everything else in their lives has been upgraded, just not that blue van. LOL.

early March. a couple of days before she was here. IIRC, it was in the midst of when the first reports of Jon's trip to the college surfaced.

For some reason, I find it so funny that Jon isn't wearing his Ed Hardy stuff anymore. Is this guy fickle or what? Can't imagine those Prada shoes would go with any of his Hardy stuff. Then again, I can't imagine Jon really having anything to go with wing tips.

Can't imagine those Prada shoes would go with any of his Hardy stuff. Then again, I can't imagine Jon really having anything to go with wing tips.

Kind of reminds me of the saying I was reminded of when I walked past NASCAR owner Bill France Jr. in 1997 and noticed his rather interesting looking brown polyester suit... "Money can't buy taste." That's for sure!

I always find it odd that people post on this thread that don't watch the show. But okay, maybe a few more people will get hooked and join our fun! I agree...I found the coupon incident more annoying than gum-gate. Both are totally over the top Kate moments. The reason I found the coupon incident more annoying was because I felt like Kate may have been under a great deal of pressure...1) moving is ranks as one of the top stressful events in a person's lives 2) Kate was probably trying to justify the move into such an elaborate house and 3) we have no idea how many times she gave Jon the coupon and wasted money is still just wasted money no matter how much you have.

Now, gum-gate, on the other hand, was just unbelievable. Jon should have smacked Kate and said--throw away the da*mn socks and thank god someone will watch our 8 kids.

Maryland is an interesting choice no doubt. It also looks like her new pad looks like it is just as far away from the kids as Jon's home is.
