I've said this before, but TLC underpays the Gosselin Family. If Jon and Kate are only making $30,000 - $70,000 an episode each, I wonder what the kids are getting. They have the same advertisements and any regular network show. Disney advertises with the show, Johnson/Johnson. TLC is making a ton of money off this family, especially if they are not even paying the kids, which is really sad.

According to TV Guide, Charlie Sheen is TV's highest paid actor, taking home an estimated $825,000 an episode for his work on TV's top sitcom, CBS' Two and a Half Men.

He has the reputation of any bad boy that ever existed.

I too wonder how much they get paid. I can't see them getting as much money as TV actors because they are not formally trained actors in a union. Reality show personalities never get paid as much as a Drama or Comedy. That is why we are seeing so many reality shows in the last 5-8 years. They are very cheap to make because you don't have to follow union rules/regulations for filming and you don't have to pay the "stars" a lot of money.

The kids don't get paid diddly. To get paid would mean they were working. They are just "playing" and are being filmed doing it (the parents are paid for the "inconvience of the cameras in the home) yeah right. I'm sure the 9 hour photo shoot under hot lights (and probably limited water to drink was a ball.

Oh I agree with you. When I said "they" I meant J&K. The kids are just living their life and a camera just happens to be there...

the kids get to play and go on about their lives, just like they would every day and the cameras just record what they're doing... it's perfectly normal to have a microphone hanging over your head and a camera in your face when you're out riding your bikes (WITH NO HELMET )

That is horrible. I wonder how many more years it will take for reality series industry to stop doing this or getting away from this. I'm surprised there isn't a pack of lawyers going after this industry.

That is horrible. I wonder how many more years it will take for reality series industry to stop doing this or getting away from this. I'm surprised there isn't a pack of lawyers going after this industry.

My friend is an agent in LA. He represents people who do voice over work. So, I get the inside scoop on how some things work. Over Christmas last year he was telling me all about how the reality show programming has really hurt all of Hollywood w/the pay scale and filming regulations.

Second thing--Don't the sextuplets all have respiratory issues? If he is back into smoking, isn't that going to be bad for the kiddos? Will he ever be able to take them anywhere alone, if he will need to step away to smoke? I wonder if he even thinks about these things?

It was my understanding that he has smoked this entire time, it just hasn't been shown on camera. I don't understand how an OCD germaphobe can live with a smoker. I'm neither OCD or a germaphobe and I could never live with a smoker, esp. after I had kids.

Wasn't it Aaden who said something about a boom mic once? How many kids know what that is? Ya, those pictures don't look natural to me either. It's like, ok kids go and play but occassionally look at the camera and say something cute! BTW, who is that little blond boy in the pics? It looks like the same boy from the other day with Kate's friend on the stoop. It looks like they were filming him too from the pictures at least.

Come on Madge, you know you can't stay away! I have the J&K thread sickness too...my in-laws were here for days and really curtailed my time to read and post on this thread! Sad, isn't it?

As for the People Mag. article, lovely. So Jon and his new gal pal Kate2 needed to get away? Going to the Hamptons is such a LOW profile place! Nobody would know them there! Poor Jon, he's been running ragged...vacationing in St. Tropez, filming for a couple of days, playing on the swings in NY and now getting away to the Hamptons for days. He really needs some 'just Jon' time! That was a bit snarky I know.
