Of course... its a brilliant bit of publicity for the clothing line. They know that the paparazzi will be stalking John while he's wearing their clothes. Which equals a huge amount of free advertising for the relatively low cost of flying John and his girl to France.

Its really no different than what he and Kate were doing all along with the show... going on free trips so companies could get their products plugged on the show.

That is the first thing I thought of!
The financial settlement of this divorce is going to be a doozy.......I can just imagine the legal and accounting bills they will incur
Has it ever been discussed how they are paid by TLC? Was the whole family paid a lump sum or what? I'm sure that is going to have to be renegotiated/reallocated. I really wonder if the kids' financial interests are being protected.

I just remember how much Jon was saying at the end of last season how he didn't really enjoy doing the show, etc. So let's see if he "mans up" and gets a job and works everyday like us regular folks! Hmm, I bet he'd rather continue doing the show sporadically and have the rest of the time free for his great new fun lifestyle!

Today in Marshalls I saw Ed Hardy jeans on clearance for 29.99. They were hideous and had huge glittery tigers on the back pockets. Wonder why they were on clearance

Probably for the same reason other clothes go on clearance--last year's style/model/color.

I've never heard of the designer before but I have to say that some of the shirts jon has worn are pretty cool.

Have to wonder if he stole the clothes idea from Kate (healtex deal) ? Was that what prompted her to pull the trigger / protect her and kids interest ? She found out he had a pending deal ?

I'm sure the designer would have approached Kate either recently or months ago ? Kate might have been tougher / more expensive to deal with and they approach Jon now that he's solo. Jon does the deal instead ?

Sorry to interrupt but I started watching recently (on Season 3 right now) and I'm really curious about something. Does anyone know why Kate didn't like it when Jon called her "my wife"? I heard them mention that a few times but haven't caught an explanation.

If Kate is smart, she will keep her mouth shut and not do anything, except get herself a first rate attorney.

Because with Jon's recent actions, he is burying himself. Wow, will Jon have to finally get a job to support his children? Since we know he hates the show, the media, etc.

As more comes out, I wonder how I would feel as a Mom who is getting a divorce and what my husband's choices are. Whether or not Jon had an affair with Deanna or not, he did "hang" out with her as he is doing with Hailey. Would I want either one of those women around my kids....heck no!

I watched the GMA interview and was surprised to see the People reporter say the same thing I have been thinking....Jon doesn't want his kids to google him (before they announced the split) and then he does what he is doing.

I think it's more than likely that she found out who he was seeing - I imagine that she knew the girl was 'wild' as she was friends with the parents.

I know I've said it before and I'm going to say it again, but WOW!!! I cannot believe this is the same guy from the show!

If they claimed Jon has been kidnapped and replaced by his hitherto unknown 'evil twin' I'd be inclined to believe it! How can one person change attitude so much? Have to say I'm a little bit p'd off at TLC and the editing they've obviously done. There was absolutely no hint of the smoking or anything! It's like he's undergone a personality transplant, when I watched the show I thought he had his moments, but I never thought he would go off the rails this much.....there's celebrating your freedom and there's celebrating.......

If they had shown just a hint of Jon like this, I imagine Kate would not have taken all the heat she did. I doubt he suddenly changed this much. I think in order to keep the show, he had to tone down.
I don't think the earings are new..I think in the earlier shows, you can see that he had pierced ears..he just didn't wear them.

I'm sorry, I just lmao reading this article!!! It is just hilarious how shameless these people are. He had his "people" contact the designer to get free clothes. Can you imagine? Their whole lives are spent trying to get things for free!!! At least Jon and Kate are equal opportunity exploiters. They don't just exploit their kids for money, they exploit themselves as well. Does Jon realize what a tool he looks like? That designer couldn't CARE LESS about him, "his stylist" cough "tart", or his motrocycles OR any "partnership" with him. That designer already got what he wanted out of him, and now he's done, I'm sure. I had never heard the names Ed Hardy or Christian Audinger before 2 days ago. Now I know who and what they are. He totally used Jon (who is more than willing to be used) to get some attention for himself (just as Hailey is using Jon to get attention for herself) It is hilarious! Screenwriters couldn't make this stuff up! Probably because they wouldn't believe there were people out there that cared this much about money, that they weren't at all ashamed at how they got it?

And let me be clear - as ridiculous and shameless as Jon is being - I don't somehow now look at Kate as the "victim" here. I'm not saying "oh, no wonder she has to be so beastly and controlling with him" That is putting the cart before the horse. She is just as , if not more guilty of exploiting herself and her children for "things" and money. I think she started the whole monster and Jon is just too immature to handle it on his own without looking like an idiot. Perhaps she is not in a "relationship" (at least we don't know she is) but her love of attention and money is just as lurid as Jon's. I think she made her bed and is laying it now.

If J& K had held any of the virtues that are complete truths they would not be in this mess. Perhaps if Kate hadn't cut every person out of her life that didn't agree with her...there would have been more people in their lives for Jon to be accountable to. He wasn't worried of losing any of their friends or family, he had already lost all of them because Kate cut hem out of their lives. He wasn't worried about losing the kids, because he is needed for "filming". He had nothing to loose. Certainly he wasn't afraid of losing respect of the public, because who respected the way they were living on freebies anyway? If they hadn't exploited their family so shamelessly, he would have to be acting more grown up, for the simple reason he would need to to hold a job. If she could have shown him any respect, even for ANYTHING he does right (like build him up for being a great dad - ok, he is not great at holding a job, but pat him on the back for how good he was with the babies)maybe he wouldn't have needed to seek respect elsewhere. (And who else is going to respect a man that expoits his family for money, but a young member of the reality TV generation that look up to these types?) This is all just too good. Man, I can not wait until that 45 days is up! Kate's head will probably pop off when the cap is released because she will be spewing stuff so fast!

Wwell, at least they can all look back and say "they did it all for the kids" yeah, right.

Well said! I really used to love the show and it has turned into a circus. It bugs me the most when they say it is all for the kids... at least they could tell the turth because we all can see it.

I asked my DH (who is 2 years older than Jon) if he had heard of Ed Hardy clothes and he said "no, are they expensive?" I said "they look like skater punk clothes" He said, "I wouldn't wear that stuff" to which I replied, "of course not, you're a GROWN UP!!"

It sounds like you haven't liked the show from the begining. Do you still watch it?

I do happen to believe Kate had prob been the victim for longer than we may have thought. I happen to believe that TLC did a lot of fine editing to make Jon look the way they did. That's the stuff that gets us watching, not shows that bore us showing a happy family that has no conflicts.

Who knows just what Jon did when he wasn't being filmed. We have no idea if he earned any respect. We only see for the two of them, what TLC wants us to see. Well, except for now..many of us are seeing Jon in a much different light. The real Jon perhaps?

Kate went on a book promo and got crucified. I find that very interesting. She wasn't caught out in bars in the middle of the night. No incriminating pictures of her were shown. Yet, because of what very well could have been editing, she's a horrible, exploitive mom. You have never made a secret of what you think of her. IMO, we have no idea how many friends or what family members Kate talks with. For all we know, that part of her life she keeps a secret. When the pics of her in her bathing suit in her own driveway were shown, she was chatting to someone in a car. It was never (to the best of my knowledge) revealed who that was. That shows me that someone she knows is able to stay private. Maybe many more are.

Yes, they are trying to get things for free. I assume that most people that have reality shows are. Isn't that part of the reason they do them? Just what did you expect the first day you saw them on TV? Did you think when clothing places and vacation spots came calling, this family and TLC would turn them down? I never did. I always assumed as the show got popular, just like other shows, placements would be part of it. Until, and if and when the kids write the books, I'll hold off my judgement on how they are going to handle this..if they think they were exploited, or if they feel it was worth being on the show and having healthy bank accounts. If they don't, the books will be interesting reads.

What horrible spewed things has Kate said in the past about Jon in the magazines, that we know to not be true? And should we expect her to not stand up for why she acted the way she did towards him? Do we expect her to not talk about his behavior during their marriage? I do wish they would both keep quiet, but they are now public people, and yes, I do think we haven't seen the end of he said, she said.
