I'm sure this will illicit all manner of answers from everyone but how has Kate changed?

Well, her attitude is still about the same as it always was (Kate is Kate, she is who she is), but her physical appearance has changed quite a bit. Hair, nails, toenails, tan, tummy tuck, augmentation???, clothes, shoes, hats (LOL), bathing suits, cell phone attached to her hand (surgically??? just joking). But really, I think her attitude is pretty much the same as before. I do think Jon has changed some, too. The earrings are a bit hard for me to swallow, but hey, to each their own, I guess.

I'm sure there will be blame throwing going around and I would hope they would try not to do that in front of the kids. I agree though, that if Kate did not have an affair and Jon did that would be a reason for a lot of anger/bitterness on Kate's end that I'd hope she could control to some degree. You know, maybe J&K will surprise all of us and come out of this thing respectable and amiable so they can keep the peace for their kids sake. Stranger things have happened...

I hope they don't do anything in front of the kids and from the sounds of things, they most likely aren't. I just hurt for those children...

My husband laughs at me because I can pretty much talk to a brick wall. I always make friends at Disney, I am usually the single rider so that lends itself to meeting folks
It is frustrating on the web many things I have posted I am saying them with a giggle and it is hard to get across. I had been pretty much a TR reader prior to this thread and now I pop up on the CB a little bit. Budget bards has taught me a few things, especially about codes.

Really? I guess we all have to draw our own conclusions. In any case, I think we'll see a lot of each of them placing blame on the other. Isn't that what happens in most divorces when there is money and kids? Wouldn't they both think the other is wrong?
Of course if Kate didn't have an affair and Jon did, and the only thing that Kate did wrong, was, well, being Kate, then I guess Jon would be a big part of the blame. But it will be a while to see how this will happen..if they will try to keep it quiet and just divorce.

I've been thinking either financial because he's been looking at real estate in NYC or maybe he had one of his girlfriends spend the night in the house.

I was thinking the exact same thing. When she used the word "activities" I thought it was an odd word and wondered if he had a "friend" come stay at the house. I imagine one of the kids telling her on Monday, her freaking out (and I wouldn't blame her) and going and filing immediately.

I also thought about the financial stuff, was he moving money around? Taking money out of accounts? Maybe that is why she said she had to "protect herself and her children."

Then again, in Kate's world "activies" could mean he fed the kid's Jif peanut butter instead of organic.

DH and I had a long-distance relationship while I was in college, and during summers I would come up and stay with my future in-laws. I loved my MIL, but almost passed out one day when I came downstairs to see my undies soaking in a glass of bleach and water on her kitchen windowsill.

You should win a prize for that story, you must have just, I can't even imagine, speechless. Bless her heart!

Well, she did used to be the primary caregiver and has since last fall gone out on book tours for weeks at a time. She dresses differently (high heels with the kids) as does Jon. She is on that pink phone all the time (Jon is on his as well). They have a bodyguard that went on vacation with them. She doesn't hang out with Kevin/Jodi or Beth it appears anymore. How has she NOT changed in the last year or so?

All of the dirty laundry throwing will be in public via People it looks like! Stay tuned!

Not sure why the eye roll was necessary as it's very clear to many that she is not the same person she was just a few years ago.

She used to be a "frumpy" stay at home mom that was more focused on her children then on her appearance. Sweats, manageable hair do, little make up and no sense of style as she admitted herself.

Now she is completely aware of how she is dressed, is styled to the nines most times(think dog "shopping"), goes to the spa, gets her nails done, tans, has begun working out and has lost weight and is now a career woman that travels for days on end.

I am not saying that in any sort of a negative way but she has definitely changed as well and is definitely MUCH different then she was 2 years ago.

Sorry, the eyeroll wasn't meant to be atagonistic. I always use that one incorrectly! I meant it to be more of "I'm sure this question will cause problems" icon. See, I shouldn't be allowed to use it.

Yes, Kate's style has changed. Although I think it has something partly to do with the fact that she was doing all those speaking engagements/book tours. Heck, I'd want to look good if people were coming to see me speak. Plus, wasn't it Jon who prodded her to dress better and one of his Christmas gifts to her was a shopping spree where he picked out all her outfits? I think she looks great, nothing wrong with a Mom trying to look good. If I had freebies from Ann Taylor, you can bet I'd be making good use of it! She'd lost all that baby weight and well, don't most people when they lose weight and feel they are looking better want to dress nicer? I do at least. I know lots of Moms my age who look put together and dressed well even though they're stay at home Moms or homeschoolers.

ETA: My Dad is a real estate agent and he goes tanning regulary because he thinks people will think he looks better and more put together. I'm seriously not making that up!

I had a handyman come to my house to do some work. I'm not making this up: he was the CLEANEST, most WELL-GROOMED workman I've ever seen. I figured he was just the supervisor, but no, he was a really clean worker. I call him all the time because he "does good work" and he leaves the jobsite clean as well. I'm really impressed by him, so I think your Dad's not far off the base.

His name was Beaux about 65, and he ballroom dances. My MIL came by to check on the progress she was weak at the knees for him. Next month she had him putting in an outdoor jacuzzi tub.

Uh...like it's been said before....(but this post is just too mean for me not to comment), there IS a pool on the property, so big freaking deal if she is in a bathing suit AT HER OWN HOUSE.

I'm so glad to see they're actually using the pool and yard that they (or someone) paid for instead of running all over the place. It's their house and I hope they're able to enjoy it.

I had to respond to this, too. Sometimes I feel like between DH and I, he is "fun Daddy" and I am "mean Mommy" because I am the one who is always telling the kids what to do and he is the one who wants to have fun all the time. Maybe that's what she means.

Agree 100%. DS4 refers to me as "mean AND evil" - he puts extra emphasis on the "and" so people know I'm both! When you ask him why, he usual answer is "because you wouldn't let me do what I wanted like Dad". That's why I'm the mommy

I can read and to post the DIS on my CrackBerry. I am sure she can read on hers too. Not sure if she has a CrackBerry or iPhone. But you can access the DIS with no problems on either.

Although...based on what we've seen from the show, seems more likely that it was a publicist or agent or lawyer or something that texted her. Oh, well.
