I am sick of the term hater also. Just because someone does not agree with Kate that means we are haters. But if we agreed with everything Kate did and bashed Jon then we would not be haters. I don't think that there is any hate going on. Just a discussion about how we disagree with the way things are being handled. I think Kate is not a nice person, but I did feel sorry for her Monday night and just because I don't agree with her mothering does not mean I hate her. People need to get some kind of life if they are getting so upset about what is being said.

I agree. :thumbsup2

But what you are, is different. You have never said you intensely disklike or hate Kate. Some people have said that they either intensely dislike her (which is, like it or not, what the word means) or hate her (although I think I have only seen two people use the actual word hate in 5 threads..but again, there are other words that mean the same). It sure doesn't mean that everyone who disagrees with her feels the same. I think most on this board have liked her and not liked her over the 5 threads. But there are very few who 'intensely dislike' her.
I too, do not like the term, 'Kate hater' or 'Jon hater' given to someone who just disagrees with the way she may do and say things.

Also keep in mind that when Jon was interviewed it was before the airing of Monday's show. He was probably not allowed to talk to the press about it until the show aired. Maybe we'll see his side of the story in People next week.

Didn't he say he has hardly talked to her? So I assume he has talked to her some. No idea if that is in person or not.
I'd like to think that by now she has run far far away.

He was asked if he had talked to Deanna Hummel at his gate on Father's Day to which he replied, "not as much given what went down". Which makes it sound as if they still have contact.

Good point. That is what happened last time.

I have to admit, I was pretty surprised Kate was doing talk shows. I guess you could say I'm on Team Kate too, but really take a week off. I don't think either of them should be out talking at the moment.

I really do hope that Jon does talk and soon. I would love to know what he did over the weekend that made Kate feel like she needed to file. The way she is making it sound, he did something horrible to her and the kids over the weekend. If he did nothing then I hope he defends himself. If he did do something then I hope she tells. With her vague comment about the situation it just means to me that she is hoping for more sympathy. JMO

I wonder when Kate talked to People. They sure got that article and cover shoot done quickly... which is totally possible, given the digital age. The cover story broke today, could they have written the story and shot the cover yesterday?

The writer for People said she did the interview with Kate last Thursday.

"He does not want to be married to me anymore," Kate told People. "No questions asked, he went and hired a lawyer and said you better get one. So I did. I never would have made that step; I never would have done it."

I realize that every story has 2 sides and this is Kate's side. However, given Jon's attitude Monday night and his rebel behavior lately...it makes sense to me.

"Over the course of this weekend, Jon's activities have left me no choice but to file legal procedures in order to protect myself and our children," Kate said in a statement Monday night.

I think she meant protecting her and the children financially not physically or anything. At least that is how I took it.

Do you think it's a picture from last time she did a story with them and they just used what they had? I wouldn't think the cover would take all that much time - just picking a picture and dropping it into the space and putting the text in (I make it sound like it takes 5 minutes but understand it's more than that). As for the article, I guess if you're a journalist and under a deadline, you'll be up all night writing if you need to. Maybe she's got a deal with People and if they were going to file in July and moved up the date, she'd already been talking with them about doing the story at that point?? Who knows. Is that the article that the person came to her house? Maybe they had the basics already written (most of the articles are the same with different quotes or arranged in a different way) and just needed the "exclusive" quotes from Kate to finish it.... :confused3

I just wish they would both shut up. He'll say something to the press, she'll feel she has to correct it. She'll say something while correcting it, and he'll have to correct it. Back and forth and back and forth. And now the lawyers are involved. Yech!

so they both gave their interviews before the show aired Monday? Jon spoke to Radar Online Sunday, and Kate last week? I've read that CBS link 3 times and I'm totally missing where it says the writer spoke to Kate. Major blonde moment on my part. :rotfl:

my whole (new) reason for wondering is if Kate talked to People late last week, I think that could dispell the theory that TLC was scrambling at the last minute with Monday's show because they didn't realize Kate was filing that day. That TLC was going for the separation angle and they had to put in that black screen at the last minute.

I'd think they could use something they already have, if it conveys the look the magazine wants it to. absolutely.

this bears repeating. very well said.

I wonder if that's the same day they filmed the interviews for the show - the day it all went down??? Kate must have had a darned good agreement with People to keep it quiet for that long!

Sorry Madge. Here is the link to the People writer saying it was last Thursday that Kate gave her the interview.

When Kate said something had happened in the last week that made her want to file to protect her and the kids (im sorry if protect wasnt the word-- something to that effect)-- she may have been talking about when Jon came to her and said he had a lawyer and suggest she get one too. She may have felt threatened at that point as though she needed to take action just in case he were to try and go after her for the kids, take the kids and run (he has been acting weird lately. Not that I think he would want all of them to himself, but sometimes people will do anything to get at the other), etc.

I also read that they aren't agreeing on how to split their assetts (sorry if this has already been mentioned. I was about 30pages behind).

thanks!! that makes a whole lot more sense now. sometimes I read things quickly and miss a detail or two, but I honestly wasn't seeing it in that CBS article and was about to do this :badpc:

ok. you all know how I love my timelines. :rotfl:

Kate spoke to People on Thursday, and it was after the filmed the episode for Monday night. The pictures taken seen here were from Wednesday
http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/b129898_jon_kate_8_play_outside_familybut_how.html

Based on Kate's statement, she decided to file Monday. So it is possible TLC had the episode in the can, and had to go back and edit for the show. And since People had the interview done, it wouldn't take much at all to add wording about the divorce, etc. Just thinking out loud, mostly.

When to the magazines actually go to print, anyone know?

We do love your timelines! :goodvibes

The outfit in the pictures is the same outfit she did "the" interview in if I remember right. Maybe it all went down that day??? People were commenting about her dirty feet and it's possible she wasn't wearing shoes outside with the kids. It would explain why both of them were at the house together for sure. She took the kids out to play while waiting for Jon (he said he was two hours late during the show) then went in to film the interview??

No idea when things go to print...sorry!
