What is your take on Aunt Jodi's sister's blog? I just got up to speed with this mess and Aunt Jodi and Kevin's CBS interview. I have mixed feelings.

I was annoyed they (meaning Kevin and Jodi) sold out. I mean they said they were concerned for the kids. Okay then handle it another way instead of talking to the press. What they're saying may be true, but because of the way they did it, it makes them less credible in my eyes.
As for the sisters blog, I guess she has a right to voice her opinion and although I didn't like some of it, she's defending her sister, so I guess I understand.
What did you think?

No. Remember, he didn't want a large family. He said this world is made for groups of 4.

I still like Jon. I think he is being made to look bad, and he's okay with it. Has he made mistakes, sure. Plenty of them. There is way more to this story than we know, and may ever know. His mom seemed to want so badly to defend him. It of course was his mom!

Jodi and Kevin- I think they love the kids and Jon and Kate. I think they tried to be part of their lives as they saw stability deteriorating. I think they tried to be the kids' advocate in other ways than in the public eye. I think they didn't know what else to do but go public. I don't think it's been very effective for anyone. I don't know what I'd do. I do know I'd defend my sister to the bitter end if she'd been treated badly or taken advantage of.

I think they are BOTH sick sick people to go on tv and tell the WORLD about their divorce!! Those poor kids will see this one day and think our stupid their parents look! The only word that comes to mind is MORONS

If it turns out that they used the announcement of a divorce as a means to try and draw a larger TV audience, then we'll have witnessed a new low in the less-than-stellar world of Television History. If it's true, this program has in one hour moved from circling the porcelain to shooting straight past the goose neck.

I've tried to not be calloused and had hoped that the "life changing" decision was that they'd decided that this would be their last season.

Jon and Kate have the new big house so it could fit all of them and they (J&K) could have separate bedrooms but the kids would have one place to call home. The apartment will be for the parent that is not with the kids "that day".

I could not agree more. Whatever decision they have made I assume they have told the kids first. I hope so. I won't be watching so I will have to find out here what they say.

1. I've read that many people do one of two things when the marriage is going down hill. Have a baby, or renew the vows.

2. Kate said in one of the interviews, she thought that would make Jon happy, to get a bigger house. Maybe it was a last ditch effort to please him.

what I keep going back to are two things:

(and I'd like your opinions!)

1. WHY have the wedding vow renwal?

2. WHY move to a huge house if you knew you were going to split up? (and I think they knew long before that move)

Makes you wonder if Kate got her "ducks in a row."
I don't know if anyone remembers the lady that posted about 2 months ago.
She found out her dh was having an affair.
Members on this board came out in droves to tell her how to everything in order before she made a decision to divorce her dh, or try to make the marriage work.
If Jon did not know where kate was the last 4 days, I'm betting she was with lawyers and she filed today. Last week Thursday she bought a new SUV.

Anyway, the new house is held in a Trust. Maybe all the kids own the house, and the house doesn't have to be sold, since the kids own it.

I really can not believe that people are surprised by them getting divorced. Did everyone not see this coming? It seems that some people are in shock over this. Come on now. These people are very selfish and maybe this show started out to help them support their kids but it did not take long before the focus changed. I don't care who you are, you put yourself in that kind of situation it is bound to go to your head and that is what has happen. I just laugh everytime someone writes that they thought it was just them announcing they were separating and getting help or they were going to stop the show. No, they are too selfish for therapy and to stop the show so of course they are getting divorced.

One last thing. That radar video of Jon saying he does not know where Kate is could mean a lot of things. Maybe she does not want the P to know where she is so that is what they are telling people. I did not hear any complaining in that clip. Once again it is something blown way up.

The same could be said about Kate though. She wants what she wants on her terms.

This seems to be the case with most everything..

I suspect the house is going to be the "children's house" and Jon and Kate will escape when the other one is home. IE Kate will go on her tours and trips and Jon will be at the house doing the 24/7 duty. When Kate is back and he's off duty he will go to NYC.

This is what I think will happen as well - and in all reality, it would probably be the best scenario for the kids rather than shuffling them back and forth between two houses..

I am done watching this show.

I know I am not watching tonight. Those of you who are equally as disgusted, I suggest that you not tune in tonight. The lack of viewers will send a strong message. This show needs to be cancelled. I really have no respect for either of them for selling their family to they highest bidder.

I'll be right here on the DIS - until I decide to go to bed.. Viewing isn't even an option in my book..

I would not be one bit surprised if your prediction is correct.. Anything to rake in the $$$$..

Exactly. What did they ever have going for them?
Mutual respect?
Family support?
Similar interests?
Similar parenting philosophy?
Similar goals?
Financial stability? (rags to riches is not stability!)
They were so young when they had eight kids. What was Jon, 27 with eight kids? They are like lottery winners in a way.

Kate was also the person who said that she couldn't wait for the lights(camera lights) come down out of this house, (old house) because that meant that they were getting out of this house. She maid several comments about not likeing the old house.

Thank you. The one I originally read said divorce in the title but legal separation in the story.

I have to agree with Kate on the Crooked Houses.
Why would you want them soo far away in the woods? You can't see the kids to keep an eye on them. And if one of your reasons is because there are somany paparrazzi around, then wouldn't you want your kids even closer?

Well all I have to say is I grew up with woods behind our house. I would have loved to have had a crocked house back there. That's were we spent all of our time!
