I have to disagree...I don't think asking your kids to sit quietly while you talk to another adult is work - I expect that of my children. The cameras to the Gosselins is "normal" for them. Now the "denying" of the drink (I will admit I did NOT watch the video so only going by what was posted in regards to that), yes, if you have a commitment or it was already discussed that you'll have to wait, yes I would make my kids wait. I'll put "cuppies" up at my house half an hour or so before I know I have to go somewhere to avoid accidents or multiple potty breaks during the trip (if it's planned - we all know as parents there are many trips unplanned!). Does that make me horrible that either of my DSs will ask for a drink and I tell them no even though I may still have a cup somewhere and might take a drink before I leave? I don't think so. I also put their cups up at 7 so they don't pee the bed. Every night I hear "it's not fair...if I can't have one you can't have one". Do I put my drink up? Nope, I simply say, when you can make it through the night without peeing your bed or wake yourself up to go to the bathroom, you can have a drink whenever you want. I know it's not exactly the same, just trying to find something to compare.
As for the drink, I would think that if she passed it to Mady, another would want a drink, then another and another and on. 1 - I think it's just yucky to share a drink (yes even with my kids) and 2 - passing it around is asking for a mess somewhere IMO. Someone's going to spill it, not going to be happy that it's not their turn, ect.
OT - DS2's foot ISN'T broken

At least they don't think so. If he's still limping in a week, he has to go back for more x-rays to see if they can find the fracture. I guess I have a peg-leg little man for another week!

Not how I wanted to spent $200 and my morning, but he's ok and I got meds for my crazy cold sores that won't go away so it was worth it!
