Jon & Kate Gosselin have reportedly been putting on a united front amidst rumors that both have allegedly cheated on one another, PEOPLE reports. Celebrating the sextuplets' fifth birthday, the couple took the kids and their friends to a local water park and appeared to be as happy as ever. The entire party was filmed and will be shown during the May 25 season premiere of 'Jon and Kate Plus Eight.'
The day before, Kate and all eight children visited Party City in Wyomissing to buy supplies for the party. Bodyguard Steve Neild, who was rumored to be having an affair with Kate, accompanied them.

I saw those also and wondered if that was considered a commercial which would might make the children actors? Then you get into child working labor laws. Just throwing that out there.

The laws of the state in which the person (child) lives is the one that determines which laws pertain to the actors. The Gosselin's live in PA, which has no laws for children in the entertainment industry, therefore, no matter where they did filming, there are no laws that pertain to them. If they were residents of CA, which has stringent child entertainment labor laws, then, yes, laws would cover their work for that 'commmercial' and all of the work they do for their own reality show - but they don't live there - and no laws are on the books to protect them.

I didn't read this up-thread, so if this has already been discussed I apologize for duplicating.

Last night on CNN's Headline News channel's Entertainment news hour (I don't know what it's called as I've never watched it before) they talked about J&K and said they didn't know what was going on with the two of them, but they had heard that J&K were shopping around a book and movie deal. Apparently they are looking for a 'ghost writer' for the book which they plan to immediately turn into a movie of their story/lives.

Yep! Now, that really makes me wonder about all of the rumors of them splitting up. I do believe they've had problems in the past, I don't know about what is going on right now, but I do believe things could be better for everyone in Gosselin-land but one thing for sure is they're definitely working hard to make money while their story is still hot - and it couldn't be much hotter than it has been this past week.

I'm expecting the season opener to be along the same lines of last season's finale Yes, they'll address the subject of problems in their relationship (but not more than what we've already heard), say they're working on them in private, and we'll be let down just as we were in March - wondering what all the excitement in the previews was all about.

I'm having trouble keeping up lately, I admit that .. but there were people (on this thread) who questioned whether the bodyguard was with them while shopping?

He's in a few of the pictures. Not much to question there. LOL.

Someone commented that the bodyguard is around to protect Kate, but not the kids, who they felt needed it more. They commented that there was no picture of the bodyguard when she was out with one of the kids. I commented that maybe he was behind them, or even that Jon was there, but that wouldn't be newsworthy.

I have thought this from the beginning. Maybe Jon was out partying, but I really don't believe he cheated and I really don't believe she is messing with bodyguard.

Same here. I think the media has blown this WAY out of proportion. Funny that almost no one knew about the show beforehand.

All of this cheating garbage aside, I really hope J&K spend more time with their kids. I know, I know, we don't actually know for sure how much time they spend with them but from recent schedules and such, it seems J&K aren't around as much as they used to be.

The tups are 5 and the twins are 8. We all know how quickly our own kids grow up. Just today, I was with my 3 girls and they were running around playing tag, hopscotch and skipping down the driveway. I stopped what I was doing to just watch and enjoy them. They're only 6, 7 and 9 years old but I remember just like it was yesterday when they were babies and toddlers. J&K will miss out on their kids if they're constantly running around to tape their show, promote their books and so on. If they blink, they just might miss it all! Look how big the tups look already. Ok, I'm done rambling and being sentimental!

I did get home at 7:59 and saw the last minute (literally) of Issues with Jane Valez-Mitchell (I don't normally watch her - she bugs me for some reason) but they were talking/comparing J&K to Ocotmom. I'm hoping something hits youtube so I can see what was said. The bottom of the screen said "Secret Contract?" and little blurbs about J&K+8 so I'm interested to see what was discussed and how it was spun.

I totally agree! My boys are only 4 and 2 but those (almost) 5 years have FLOWN by! It's so amazing honestly. I have to say I find myself just stopping and watching sometimes too For some reason, just over the weekend I noticed how much more my DS2 talks about EVERYTHING - like a sports commentator giving play by plays of his every move. Now I'm around the child every day and interacting with him but this weekend it just like smacked me up side the head how much easier it is to understand him and his putting sentences together and stuff!

I really think Kate is 100% about the kids.I know she has an up front ( not sure what to call it) personally but i truly think all the Jon mess really hurts her.


Ive watch table for 12 a few times (what a cute family!) but man J & K's kids seem so much more well behaved and i think that is because Kate is the way she is with them. I will be really sad to see the show go away if it does. I loved watching the kids grow up, there all so cute.

ITA. I'm constantly comparing Table of 12 with J&K (I can't help it) and there are huge differences. Not saying either way is bad, because let's face it, both families have a lot more kids than most, and I'd say both sets are better behaved than some other families I know with only 1,2 or 3 kids, but I agree that J&K's seem more behaved, and the whole family just seems so much more organized and together. I will completely give her props for that, because I highly doubt I'd be able to do such a good job with that many kiddos. I have always and still think Kate's first priority is her kids, whether it turns out all of her decisions end up being for the best or not, we'll have to see I guess, but I think she's always doing what she thinks is best for them.

You know, when the first video came out I thought it was going to be a good thing, if it is true what they claim, because then people would know the truth.

Now I'm not so sure. If they say they're doing it for the kids, how is that so? What are they hoping to accomplish, have the Gosselin kids taken away? I just don't see how it's going to help and actually it seems like it will do more harm now. Imagine the kids when they're older and they can see with their own eyes that their Aunt and Uncle aired their parents dirty laundry. Geez, can't any of them just deal with these accussations privately? It's getting really embarrassing for each of them and is going to be mortifying for the kids particulary when they get older and can understand what's going on. When I watched those videos again, I hate to say this but it came off as more that Kevin and Jodi were mad at Kate and more interested in telling all of us that Kate isn't a great cook or doesn't spend enough time with the kids. If they want to help, go confront Jon and Kate quietly, don't stoop to throwing mud, you know?

Why do I have the feeling that if Kate had said to Kevin & Jodi, waaaay back when, "Go ahead and take a cut of the money -- I'd LOVE for you to have a contract with TLC," that we would be hearing NOTHING from Kevin & Jodi now. They'd be riding the gravy train along with everyone else.

When TLC offered Kevin & Jodi money to film at their house and Kate said "no way," Kevin went over to Kate's house and there was a confrontation about it. (This is according to Kevin himself.) If they were so concerned about the kids being harmed by a reality show, why did he stomp over there all in a huff about Kate standing in the way of them getting paid? Yes, it was a jerky thing for Kate to do -- but I didn't hear Kevin & Jodi complaining about the show harming the kids until they didn't get compensated for it.

I think it's all about money, money, money for EVERYONE. Jon, Kate, Kevin, Jodi, TLC. Otherwise I can't imagine why any of them are doing what they're doing. It's making them all into laughingstocks.

I totally agree!...Iam actually really really shocked by Jodi and Kevin......I can't imagine my relationship with my sister breaking down soooooo much that I would publically try to destroy her.

Although I do actually think what they are saying about Jon and kate being over id most probably true...as I really really can't imagine that Kevin would make up total lies to disgrace his sis publically!?....Its BAD enough what he has done..but he would have to be total scum to make it all up.

I don't think Jodi gives a crap about those kids...i think she is green with envy about the Gosselins money and new mansion...she wanted a peice of the pie and didn't get it....There I've said it!
