I'm sure you can come up with other words, than filtering out the sweat word.

Maybe me? I posted a little in the beginning (I think it was this thread, but definitely and J&K+8 thread) but haven't in quite some time. Sorry if you all think I'm here trolling, simply to stir the pot.

I absolutely agree with you madge! So thankful they're staying away from the kids! And maybe Kate's staying away from the kids because she needs time to process everything that's happening. We don't/won't know. It's probably better for her to be gone for a couple of weeks then to be at home with her and Jon fighting all the time.

I wondered why all the old crew left, I guess now we know. I think a lot of them went to the Duggar show.

Wow, that really is sad. So if it's true, and it sounded believable, it's been over for months..at least 6. I wonder why TLC still invests so much in them. The crew must have said something when the house negotiations were going on. Well, that does sound like the end.

We've carried on (mostly) intelligent and thoughtful conversation (save a few drive-by posters every now and then) for two and a half threads. Lately, this thread has gotten downright mean. A lot of posts contribute nothing other than digs at the Gosselins, snarky remarks about other posters and blatantly rude statements. I know there are a lot of new posters, so let's all please carry on this JK8 discussion in the spirit in which it started. I like to read all sides of the story, but having to filter through some of this stuff is just irritating. I'd hate to see this thread get shut down because some people can't control their keyboards.

Ya it is changing. It's funny it's not the tabloid stuff that turned me. It was the last season and their body language, they clearly can't stand each other. And the thing that finally put me over the edge was this clip:

Just the fact that he was agreeing with her and backing her up and she just jumped down his freaking throat...the "Now would you like to speak"...omg I can't imagine talking to ANYONE like that let alone my husband.

So I sort of stopped being a Kate supporter this year. Up until now I could get that she needed to really be on top of everything, was a neat freak, that Jon and her bickered to communicate. But it's just too much to watch now. It's almost tense to watch a lot of the episodes. That and I got irritated at the BLATENT product placement they were doing, like watching somebody look up auto insurance...that's what I do when I'm bored, I don't want to watch somebody else do it. Then when you see lists coming out that almost every episode, even when they were good, was actually based around the product they had been given instead of what it was like to raise kids you sort of feel like Ralphie in Christmas Story getting the message to drink more Ovaltine...aka duped.

Aparently they were fighting so much that they'd film all day and have almost no usable tape and were uncomfortable being in the house. This is all third hand though.

As for the placements, until I saw the insurance thing (and how stupid was that), I didn't even realize it was placements. I thought they used that stuff LOL.
It wasn't until another reality show and the spaghettis sauce placement that I caught on. And then it was posted here, and I started to realize they were actually showing the brand names, and covering up those that weren't 'giving'.

I didn't even realize that they lost their crew. I thought Scott and the other's were still with them. I just wonder, why didn't TLC shut this down earlier, if even the crew didn't want to be around them.

This family is pathetic. Why on EARTH would the kids' aunt and uncle release this kind of talk to the internet??? I suspect someone is trying to get their 15 minutes of fame before everything crashes and burns.

Kick the media out of this stuff, shut down TLC's show and put your kids first. Unbelievable. If mys siblings did this kind of thing...that would be an interesting Christmas dinner!!!

Ya I thought they used all the stuff too. I never even clued in that Gymboree was a placement thing when they WENT there because it's just such a normal thing to go do. For some reason I assumed that if it was a placement the companies would have their names in the credits. I guess my issue is on some level I could relate to Kate and even liked some of the ideas 'they came up with' for stuff to do with small kids. They seemed like they were setting all this stuff up so their kids would be having a good experience. Now it appears (could be totally wrong) that they are actually setting up all this stuff for freebies...it just puts a different slant on EVERYTHING they do on that show when I watch now. I generally don't watch reality shows, for some reason this one seemed more authentic but aparently it isn't.

Oh I agree 100%. I've never felt Jodi's motivation was great. I would bet she did do some complaining to her sister that led to the blog...but the timing! It was only after she was offered money that was blocked by Kate that she had all these problems with the family. If it was me and I was really worried about the welfare of the kids and wanted to be in their life to have a positive effect I would have told TLC no on the money if I thought Kate would respond like that. And then would have tried damn hard to patch it up so I could get back in there. But instead she's just been airing all the dirty laundry, and now they've been talking to all the sites who PAY for stories. Again if you just wanted the info out there you wouldn't be taking money for talking...and there is no way I would ever let DH talk about his sister's marriage like that on the internet, not cool.

I tend to disagree. Ever since Jodi's sister Julie came out with her blog (which has been updated with some of her older posts. Very enlightening to re-read them all these months later), there has been pressure/expectation/hope that Kevin and Jodi would tell their story. And now they have.

Jon gave an interview in Utah and mentioned he still talks to Kevin and Bob. Sounds like that could very well be true. IMO, this is beginning to sound more and more like Kate vs. everyone else. I also think there's still more information to come.

Kevin and Jodi may have had the rest of the family's blessing. If Kate cut them off all these months ago, then what do they have to lose?

What the heck is she going for with that look? I thought she was just a mom trying to make a good life for her kids? Maybe a professional author now? She looks so trashy. None of this nuttiness is surprising. Narcissists are lonely. Jon is a man child. The kids will suffer. I hope someone who still loves them is allowed to intervene. For gosh sake stop filming and making public appearances. Give the bloggers and tabloids nothing to talk about please.
