Why would you bet that most of it was brand new?
Most of what we saw was toys that they have outgrown.

that's what I thought, too. I didn't really see anything out of the ordinary in their sale.

The naysayers will jump on anything.
Many of things are things that have been mentioned but not showed so the naysayers have doubted that these thigs really happen ...yard sales, charitible donations, seeing people who were familiar faces on the show etc.

Yet when they do those things it has to be staged/damage control.

It is way too coincidental that the "hot topic" issues on the blogs become an episode. It is.

I've said time and time again that I hope there is MUCH that goes on that we don't see. I hope that family has a life filled with memories and activities that we NEVER see. We shouldn't know everything about the Gosselins, even though so many think they already do.

As you have already said, it was a boring episode. Hmmmm maybe this is a hint ot why things like their yard sales haven't been shown before.

maybe it's a hint to why they haven't been shown before ... maybe it's a sign of running out of topics, period. Who knows? Time to move to the yearly update, IMO.

Can't find the post right now but someone said somethng like ...as usual Kate stood around and did nothing but order Jon around...
Really? I guess I watched a different show because I saw her stay and set up the sale while Jon went to get the kids, and she stayed and ran the sale while he took the kids home for lunch and a nap. She called radio stations to promote the sale etc. Yep that lazy Kate did nothing.

I thought that was odd, too. Kate did plenty of ordering around .... but she also did plenty of work, too.

Oh did anyone else notice how many bottles of cleaning stuff they were selling? I wonder if a major company donated cases of cleaning supplies to them.
I couldn't tell what that stuff was ... I could see that it was bottles of something, but I was thinking bath stuff. LOL. It very well could have been cleaning stuff, though.

I thought some of it looked like bath stuff, but in one shot you could see about 2 dozen bottles of what looked like windex. Around that was other large bottles I assumed was cleaning stuff.
There was a section with smaller items too that I thought was bath/toiletries/cosmetics etc.

I just read in the paper that the Gosselins are coming to a local church around my area to speak about Faith, love and family. January 10, 2009. Tckets are only $10.00. I thought that was pretty cool. :)

Not going to go because going to Disney on Ice but would be cool to hear what they would talk about.

Do you mind me asking where they are appearing? I am pretty sure they won't come to NE, but would like to know exactly where they go.

there was that Sara Snow episode about making things "green" - maybe those were products someone donated, but don't fit into the Gosselin's organic/green lifestyle.

::: stepping off soapbox for one minute :::

I have no doubt that the Gosselins have been given a boatload of stuff over the last couple of years. There's no way they could use all they've been given (for whatever reason) and it's nice to see them trying to sell it to make money for a good cause, and then donating it to Goodwill so someone can use it. It would have been very easy for some people to throw items like cleaning products/toiletries away and not given it another thought.

That is what I was thinking.

LOL....are you getting soft on the Gosselins? LOL

One thing I thought was really funny was Kate saying she didn't price things ahead of time. IMHO I really thought she would be the type to price everything and not negotiate much on the price.

not necessarily ;) It's Thanksgiving and all ... :rotfl:

I also spent about 30 seconds reading blogs. Well, one blog. I thought I'd start at GDNNOP before going to GWoP. They were so busy attacking GWoP that there was actually very little said about last night's episode, so I quit reading. It's crazy. Both blogs.

She does sort of seem that type, doesn't she? I wasn't really surprised by it - nor was I surprised that she didn't like touching the money. (which I find sort of ironic :lmao: )

LOL....they ran out of nasty thigs to say about the show so they've started the blog wars instead....LOL....love it. IMHO it just shows that they have to say something nasty

LOL about the money

Hi all! I haven't been on here for awhile because I haven't had much to say, but....

DD and I were out last weekend in Lancaster shopping at the Rockvale outlets and guess who we saw? The twins!!! They were not noticeable at all. They were also with an older lady that they called "Nana". I only knew it was them because we were waiting outside the Disney store (waiting for it to open) and they were sitting on a bench outside the store drinking orange juice and the older lady said, "Maddy, share with your sister". And Mady said, "Nana, I don't understand why Cara just didn't get her own juice!" :lmao:

I must say, they were adorable and very well-behaved. We ended up shopping in there along side them and this "Nana" was very sweet and told them they only had $30 each to spend, so spend wisely! :rotfl:

Anyway, it was nice seeing them be normal kids with no camera crew around. I didn't see anyone go up to them either. The older lady must be from Kate's side since she wasn't Asian at all, so they may have actual contact with her family and we just don't see it on screen.

I wonder if that was Kate mom??

That's really nice to hear!!

Don't they call some of the older lady helpers Nana?...I remember Nana janet...she was no relation just a friend.

here's the thing, it was the alleged Gosselin support blog imploding on itself more than blog wars, I think. GWoP is what it is, always has been. The Do Not Need our Pity one was started as more of an alternative to the bashing, and now all they're doing is bashing .. they're just not bashing the Gosselins, as if that somehow makes it better. LOL. I swear, I've never seen anything like it.

Kate probably hired doubles for the twins. We all know she doesn't let them out of the cage...uh, house, without a cameraperson!!

OK, so everyone who thought the episode was boring...is it because they didn't go anywhere? You wanted more relatable episodes. I think a yard sale is pretty relatable.

less kids = boring.

yes, I know that's a catch-22 .. because if the kids are on camera then they're being filmed all the time.

I guess what I'm really saying is that Jon & Kate by themselves are boring. :upsidedow

Or, remember they used to have Nana Janet on the show??? That was my first thought when I heard that:confused3 Not sure, but very nice to hear.

I'm guessing Nana Janet but it would be wonderful if it was Kate's mom.

If I remember correctly, nana Janet Jon's babysitter when he was growing up

Finally watched it, and yep...it was pretty boring to me since they didn't have the kids on there much.

Jon looked like he had lost some weight though...

I agree, I thought Jon looked pretty slim and trim! His hair looked a lot better. Maybe the hair transplant is filling in. :confused3
