I personally would have been annoyed if they would have said "suite" over and over. It sounds like bragging and is very tacky. I think it was polite for them to say "room.'
If they had said suite, some people here would have criticized them for that so they couldn't win with this one.

I think Mady is a brat. I think she would be like this no matter what.
It's really unfair to call a kid a brat when you see less than 5 minutes of her behavior each week. I'm sure she has a very lovable side to her that we never see because it's not entertaining. I just hate to see her labeled as a brat when people don't even know her.

I'm going on what I see on TV she appears to be a brat I'm sorry that what she comes of as. I'm sure she a wonderful girl very loving. Even her own parents have noted that she is a handful.

I agree with you on the suite thing...

As for Mady, the show does seem to portray her as a very difficult child. She must be in second grade by now but they still show her tantrums etc. It is her parents that have chosen and allowed that image of their daughter to be put out there. They have to accept that their kids are going to be labeled, fairly or not.
I mean, I'm sure J&K want people to watch the show, be interested in the kids, etc. right? So they can earn a living from it? Unfortunately, by doing so they open up what should be (imo) their private lives.

Would you subject your kids to that? :confused3

I can't wait to see next week's episode when they walk down the path and renew their vows. Maui... ahhhh... NICE!!! Grand Wailea Resort.. NICE!!

I saw their wedding pic with the children in the magazine. It is a beautiful family picture. I love the boys' light blue hawaiian shirts- they look so handsome and the girls are so pretty in those white dresses. Kate's wedding dress is simple and elegant. Jon looks really good too.

while I know mady can be bratty.. it really made me happy to see her doing the hula lessons and really smiling and looking like she was having a great time. Mady obviously needs a lot of attention and probably doesn't get it what with sharing her time with her sister and all the babies...

she just is obviously into different things... decorating cookies isn't fun for her... learning hula is... and it was really nice to see her having a good time and enjoying herself.

I thought Mady was adorable in this episode, it was nice to see her happy!

Absolutely! Who says "let's go back to the suite"?:confused3

I think Mady is Mady and would be who she is regardless of the tv show. I think she is an awful lot like Kate and Cara is more like Jon.

I am so glad Kate and Mady got into the water. They would have really missed out otherwise. The kids were so cute, loved watching Mady doing the hula dance and the little kids on the boat and making the cookies.

"I'm Aaden, nice to meet ya!" :rotfl2:

Have they actually even moved yet?

last I read (a week or so ago?) on one of the pity blogs - can't remember if it was GWoP or GDNNOP, so much of what they say is the same  - it had been reported that someone saw moving trucks at the Gosselins and that the sale of the property was a matter of public record.

I suppose that's true. Jon & Kate don't run around telling the kids to put on their free Gymboree clothes or to put away their Little Tikes cars. LOL :lmao:

Wow, what a house!!!! That looks like a huge house. How great for them!!!

Is the house in PA or did they move?

I did read that it is in PA. It is a beautiful huge house!

1.3 million $$$. I need to use K-mart layaway and make more organic meatloaf. Kate's budget stretchers really do work. The house in the pic. is supposedly in PA. No official confirmation it is theirs, but Gosselin sightings after the sale of the property closed (rumor has it).

:)

I agree with what you're saying - and I've asked several times about what happens when these kids get a little older and google themselves. How horrifying that could (will?) be for them to see what has been written about their family in such a short amount of time. Even if what's written isn't true - and I'm sure much of it isn't - it is highly critical of the family. If nothing else, I truly hope that Jon & Kate understand the magnitude of the negativity surrounding their family. I hope they're prepared to handle that with their children. Unless they live in a bubble for the rest of their lives, I don't see how they'll be able to protect their children from what has been said about them.

Me to. WOW that house is HUGE!!!! TLC will you put my family on tv PLEASE!!!!

Great episode last night! :thumbsup2 The resort looked beautiful! I loved when Leah was swimming under water. How cute is she? Loved the part when the lady came to take them down to the cookie making project and they kept asking her what her name was. They looked so cute in the little chef jackets. The hula lessons were cute. It was nice to see Mady happy. And I was happy that Kate and Mady both went into the water to see the sea turtles.

In the previews for next week, is that Jon's grandmother who is putting something around Kate's neck? Looking forward to next week's episode. :goodvibes

Also I read on TWOP that Matt Roloff posted a response on the TLC boards that said that for the trips TLC or whoever only pays for the days that they are being filmed. So if they took a two week vacation and only filmed one week, they had to pay for the other days out of their own pockets. I'm sure it is similar for Jon and Kate. Thought that was interesting. So the trips they take probably aren't completely free.

I watched last nights ep and was just :rotfl2: . I LOVED how some of the kids (didn't hear if it was all the kids, but I'm sure it was) were SO polite to the cookie-lady, saying "Nice to meet you."

And I LOVED how Alexis (???) was saing "Mommy why is she naked? I can see her bellybutton. She's naked!" to Kate during the big hula number at the grand luau.:rotfl:

sorry, blonde moment lol

by the way, where are the rest of the people in the restaurant

and I love kate's comment something like "we went to our rooms"

they dont have rooms the have what is obviously a suite, I would know since since I have stayed at the same hotel in a similar suite

I have to be honest, this family is going to have a huge reality check once their 5 minutes of fame is over Cara, and more so Maddy are obviously having behavioral issues Maddy is really acting out, and I am not sure removing her from the other kids is the best thing (even look at the promo pic in the magazines for this episode, Maddy had a very disconected look form the rest of the family)

And the style of life, and the treatment they are receiving---that of celebs, and the well to do it is going to be very difficult for this family to check back into reality I think they are getting all the perks and freebies now, and I hope some monetary compensation they better save up cause this family is going to come to a halt when this show is over they will be no more than a "where are they now' spread in People magazine in 10 years

on an upbeat note---the kids are getting awfully cute

I agree that they're getting a lot of freebies/perks ect. but it's just part of that business. I would hope/think that Jon and Kate would be saving a good amount of money (and would assume they were since really they're not having to spend a lot of money right now with there show ect.) I think they'll be fine, and as far as Cara and Maddy, I think they're fine and act normal. Yes, Maddy is definetly more dramatic and has some attitude, but so does my 6 year old son, and he only has 1 sibling, let alone 7 others that he's competing for attention with. I think taking Maddy out of the situation is a good idea, I think she'll start to realize that she's missing out on a lot of fun times, and I think we'll see her calm down. I personally think they should have started doing something like that a while ago, but with 8 kids I'm sure they didn't have a lot of time to figure that one thing out.

I feel so worried for Mady. I wonder how much of "the show is our life, our life is the show" has shaped who she is. Would she be as difficult and tormented even if they were a "normal" family?

She's been like that since the show first started. In one of the specials, right when Kates about to turn the camera off (back when the 6 were babies, and Cara and Maddy were like 4) she wanted to be the last one to say, you could see it then. I think it's partly just her personality/partly her age/and the fact that she really like's attention and has to compete with 7 other kids for it. I honestly don't think she's that bad, I mean yes she's very dramatic and can be an absolute brat, but my 6 year old son can come pretty close to that too, and he only has 1 younger sister, so I think it has much more to do with having to share everything including her parents attention (-which I'm not criticing, it's just part of there life)than the show.
