Upcoming episodes:

Legos & Safaris - Nov 03, 9:00 pm (60 minutes)
En route to Hawaii the Gosselins touch down in San Diego, California for a few days of exploration. Jon and Kate take the kids to Legoland, a huge theme park celebrating Legos, and embark on a safari at the nationally renowned San Diego Zoo.

Leis & Luaus - Nov 10, 9:00 pm (60 minutes)
After several days of travel, the Gosselins arrive in Hawaii and learn about Hawaiian culture through private lei making and hula lessons, Hawaiian cooking classes, snorkeling in the Pacific Ocean and participating in a traditional Grand Luau.

For Better or Worse - Nov 17, 9:00 pm (60 minutes)
Jon and Kate prove that they are more committed than ever to each other and their unique life together as parents of multiples. After almost ten years of marriage, Jon and Kate have a wedding vow renewal ceremony in Hawaii and you are cordially invited!

I thought tonight's episode was a good one. Alexis is so cute! I thought she was so cute when they were getting ready to leave with her alligator. And as the time change adjustment makes sense to me since they do have young children. I would probably make a stop in CA as well. Though when we went to CA we never actually switched to Pacific time! LOL We pretty much stuck to Eastern time.

I'm surprised that people aren't tearing J&K apart for letting the kids wear Crocs to the airport where I'm sure there are escalators.

they weren't kidding last night when they said it would be a wedding month! :lmao:

Here's the clip from "The Soup"

That was funny! :happytv:

I still don't understand why people continue to watch this show if Kate annoys everyone so much. It would be like me watching "The View" just to make myself want to repeatedly smack Elizabeth.

I saw the new episode when it repeated at midnight. Good episode but not great. I did find it interesting that it seemed like they showed different brides in the bridal shop than what we saw on the episode of Say Yes to the Dress.

I completely understand them stopping off in CA for a few days. Heck we haven't made the drive to Detriot without stopping for a day, and that is wihtout a time change. Maybe next trip we can since DD is older, but we just can't stay cooped up in a Van for more than 7-8 hrs without a break. I can't imagine flying form the east coast to Hawaii without a couple of days rest inbetween.

I do that, too. ;)

I can't even explain why I still watch the show. I'm morbidly fascinated by the whole thing, more than anything else. My youngest DD loves to watch the kids, so it's something we do together. For me, it's the quintessential train wreck. :happytv: And honestly, I don't hate it... in fact, there are episodes I actually enjoy, believe it or not. And mostly, I really have fun on this thread ;)

What I don't understand is why the blogosphere is so passionate about it ~ on both sides. The boycotting of sponsors, the blind denial that Kate can do no wrong ... it's amazing to me. I just want to scream at people to lighten up, LOL! What will these people do if and when the show is taken off the air? Again, the fanatics on both sides? It's crazy!

I know that I gave one of these  earlier to the travel (at least I think I did, LOLOL) but, after thinking about it this way ... my family would be the same way.

But, I have a question. How much farther is it from San Diego to Hawaii? I'm pretty sure this was an extended trip to Hawaii - I mean, I can't imagine they'd go there, renew their vows, stay another day or two and come home. This was a dream trip - I'd think they were there at least week, wouldn't you all? Why wouldn't they just fly on to Hawaii and spend their whole trip there, and just let their bodies catch up? They would have had a layover at some point, unless there are direct flights from wherever they were flying from (again, no idea about that at all), so the kids could have a chance to run around for a little while. It may not have been feasible for them to do that, I don't know. It was just something I thought of.

looks like just under 12 hr flight all together from Pittsburgh to Honolulu International is the shortest with 1 stop. Length of flight varies depending on where the stop is
6hr direct flight from San Diego to Honolulu

that answers my other question - what the halfway point is. Looks like San Diego is it!

Because, you know .. someone (TLC? the Gosselins? Figure8? San DIego tourism? All of the above?) is milking this show for all it's worth .. and the very cynical side of me can't help but wonder why we're fed a story of getting adjusted to a time change? In reality, it's just another vacation/reason to film another episode of the show. Which is fine, just call it what it is. LOL.

I think they fly out of Baltimore. I know when they went to Utah they flew Southwest and their one hub is Baltimore. And in the previews for next week it again looked like a SW plane. Baltimore is a lot closer than Pittsburgh.

BWI also has a non-stop flight to San Diego. I would think that'd be preferable than multi-stops. I know it would be for me and my 3 kiddos!

I agree about the whole blog thing. It's weird to me, too, on both sides. :confused3

I was hoping for a non-stop to MCO from OKC, but they don't exist. I was worried about the layover (missing the plane, having to schlep the kids and all our carryons across miles of airport, etc.), but it was kind of nice to be able to get out and stretch, let the kids go potty in a real bathroom, run around, etc. For myself, though, I love non-stops!!

one of my kids is not the best flyer - he tends to do better if we get on & off the plane only once. He'll do a layover, because he hates driving that much more .. but it's not his favorite way to fly. LOL.

Just watched last night's show and I thought it was really cute!!!!

I thought the potty chairs in the garage were a little odd, but I remember when my youngest was that age she would pee in her pants on the porch all the dang time because she would be outside playing and wait until the last possible second to come inside, and most times she wouldn't make it!! I could have saved on some wet clothes and laundry if I would have just put the potty in the garage!! ;)

Would Philly be even closer?

Would Philly be even closer?

I googled - and it looks like BWI and PHL are roughly the same distance from E'town, PA. Now, that's just generally speaking .. I have no idea where they live in relationship to where the airports are in those cities, if that makes sense.

I really don't mind them renewing their vows. You know how many trip reports I have read where people renewed their vows at WDW? Many do it for a speciall anniversary, but many do it, because their first wedding wasn't what they wanted. Most were married by the justice of the peace, many were so young and didn't have money.

I liked how Kate explained why they were going to renew their vows. And then putting in her wedding video.

Also, with her and the boys on the floor? Boys love to wrestle, if I was sitting on the floor, I would be fair game to the boys and they would wrestle me. I remember telling my boys, they could not take down their sisters and squeeze and wrestle them, just because they were sitting on the floor. It really is a boy thing. Wasn't Hannah sitting up in the chair and Alexis's sitting on her dads lap?

Kate Gosselin on the Bonnie Hunt show:

a little more than 2 minutes into the interview, Kate says the kids don't eat/like fast food. Huh? Since when? All those chicken fingers at the baseball game? the hot dogs at Sesame Place? I know I've seen McDonald's cups at least 2 different times in their house (once in the kids' room) and am I supposed to believe they didn't eat one counter service meal at WDW?
