I posted the SAME thing upthread -- I think it's really strange. Kate alone, and Kate alone with the kids. Jon must be snowboarding in Utah and can't be reached for comment :rotfl2:

Kate's interview on LKL was filmed in Chicago. GWoP tracks where Kate is 24/7  but I did read she hasn't been home much lately. I wonder if the interviews with the kids were all in one day?? The one with Access Hollywood, the kids were in rare form. Especially and mostly Mady.

In what I saw the kids were in the same clothes and the same room, for a few episodes.

I noticed the mascara smudge or something on that one eye on at least a couple of interviews. I thought for sure the makeup people would fix it or something. It struck me as weird.

watching the moving episode ..

why does Kate think it's ok to throw trash around in the old house? and then complain about a mess in the new house basement?! Good LORD.

My husband tells me I might react the same way as Kate over coupons.:upsidedow He was verrry careful when he told me .. I think he was scared :lmao:

The truth comes out...:rotfl:

I'm watching as well & that has been one of my many questions this episode.
Just kicking garbage around a house?

Also I'm just amazed that she continues to treat John like a child...that man must walk around with valium in his pocket! That voice!!!!!
I guess he knows that she gave birth to his meal ticket that he better just keep his mouth shut:confused3

The comment at the end of the moving show floored me......"the kids deserve this new house", when I think of all the families that are loosing their houses everyday it makes me sick!

Ya know...sometimes guys act like kids. I've seen several times where Jon did a bonehead thing. It's not like he's going around being the perfect husband and father and Kate is jumping on him.

I also wonder what things you think your kids (or you, if you don't have kids) deserve that someone else would consider a luxury. I could think of you in your house on your computer and be disgusted about all the people who can't afford a computer. Have you been to Disney World? I could be disgusted when I think of all the kids who are working their fingers to the bone while you're riding Dumbo.

Everything we have in life (and I'm willing to bet everyone on this thread has a little more since we have probably been to WDW, have time to watch JK and even more time to post about it) is a luxury to someone else. Sure, you can be disgusted, but bear in mind that others could be just as disgusted by you.

there were a couple of sarcastic/inside joke comments between Kate and the crew. I couldn't tell if the camera guy's comment was intended that way or not. But she threw that tape down the steps, talking about how she loved to move and not clean up after herself. Seemed like a random thing to say. LOL.

I thought the same thing about the packing and move. I wasn't paying a whole lot of attention, but it almost sounded like the boxes she was taping were empty .. and they just wanted it to look like she had a part in what was going on. Same thing with Jon putting the bed together. I honestly figured they'd have people doing that stuff for them.

I kind of get what she's saying. I haven't moved houses as an adult, but I've moved classrooms, and I constantly clean and organize and reorganize rooms, the garage, etc. When I know it's getting the big overhaul (especially in the garage), I just throw stuff so it's out of my way, and I won't have to worry about it. When I'm done in my little area, I'll grab all the stuff and put it where it needs to go (another room, garbage, recycling, etc.).

No need for a personal attack.

I do the same thing when I'm cleaning .. but it didn't seem like Kate meant it that way. I didn't get the impression that she was going back to clean anything up. But it could have been inside jokes between Kate and the cameramen, they had more conversation than I ever remember seeing in one of the shows. And it also could have been the way it was edited...

And someone needs to tell Kate that the stripey hair is bad. :rotfl:

No need for a personal attack.

A. It's the general "you." (ETA: Well, the general critical you) You'll notice I went on to say we...
B. It wasn't an attack, it was hypothetical.
C. I just turned the tables. You got what you gave.

I also noticed you didn't refute any of it.

I don't know if she, personally, was going to clean it, but, even though I'm sure someone would have bought the house, trash included, I'm betting the house got a once over before the new tenants moved.

I don't think the stripes are that bad. Of course, I'm a part-time stylist at an urban theme salon. I see crazy hair all the time.

Some comments/individuals are just not worth the effort.

This is a very good point. I really don't/have never understood why ppl. always want to criticize J&K anytime they're not struggling. Why can't we just be happy for them?

I always have to  when someone begrudges fortune (literal and figurative) to one because of the unfortunate circumstances of another. I can't imagine many people truly live that way (giving up all of their "extras" because someone else doesn't have the means to have them). I know no one on this thread does.

How depressing would life be if I looked at my house every day (that I feel my family does deserve) and made myself feel bad because others do not have one?

I agree, but here's something about it that just doesn't always sit right with me, although I know you're right in your logic. But sometimes, we'll watch MTV Cribs and see, for example, basketball players that have a 9 car garage filled with 100k sports cars, and I'll feel a wave of revulsion and think how many starving children could be fed if it were scaled down to, oh, I don't know, a five car garage.

But then my husband and I talk about how many kids could be fed with our trips to Disney, eating out, etc., and that's also true.

I absolutely agree. We tend to think that way about what others have (especially when we do not). I always think of celebs who ask you to donate this or that on a telethon or something similar. Yes, I'll donate my $50 or $100 to this cause, but, um, after the event, you're going home to your multi-million dollar estate.

Then I think of what I posted. Our family has a lot of things other families would love to have. I feel we've worked hard to earn those things, and I'm sure those who have much, much more than we do feel the same way. I would love to have some of the nice things that this actress or that singer has, but I'm not going to knock 'em down just because I (and a lot of the country) don't.

I agree.
But you know us ignorant folk may not have enough enriching life experiences to qualify us for a truly valid opinion! :thumbsup2

.

Finally!!! You get it!

I'm KIDDING!! You (not you specifically, the general you) need a disclaimer on this thread...

Just wondering...why do you always have a period at the end of your posts? Not at the end of the sentence, but a line or so down.

you might check the Zondervan (book publisher) website?

Thanks...I tried but no luck.
I'll ask again in case anyone missed it....does anyone know where I can find a list of Kate's book signings? I am specifically looking for CT?
Thanks!!

Believe me, people don't miss a think (ETA: or thinG, even!!) on this thread. :lmao:

Maybe take a look at GWOP? They seem to have a tracker chip implanted, as Madge pointed out. ;)

;) Thanks! I have never been to that site before (but have heard lots about it). I had enough after one page but I did search a little to see if I could find appearances (I didn't :sad1: ) but WOW those people are vicious!!

Just wanted to mention that I saw a (not so great) picture of J&K this morning in the Proctor and Gamble coupons with Kate's "budget" tips. I'm not a budget whiz by any means but I have better tips than that (at least I'd like to think I do!). Many of them found here on the DIS so maybe Kate should come check us out!

For those who didn't see them, I think (already threw out the scraps) they were to have everyone in the house use the same product (so you can buy in bulk), letting the kids help and something else.
