Join Us For Rich & Adrian's May 2009 WDW Adventure!

That is the great thing about WDW - there is something to suit everyone's taste!!!

Ohhh, you are tempting me into looking at POFQ - I have always wanted to stay there. I love New Orleans and it looks like a great place to stay!

Aubriee -

Look what you made me do - I just called and switched to the Port Orleans French Quarter :cool1:

When you said the price difference was only $222.00, I figured "what the heck, I'm worth $222!!!"

One of the main reasons I decided to switch is I was wondering what I would do in the evening since the parks close so early. Now I can spend time exploring POFQ!!!

This trip just keeps getting better and better!!!!

I believe Wild by Design is only offered on Thursdays and Fridays.I am taking it on Thursday May 14th. I'll have to take the early morning Tusker House character bus, because the tour starts at 8:30am.

If you are interested, you can check on the allears site under the Rate & Review section and you can see the guests ratings for each tour:

Backstage Magic--9.27
Backstage Safari--9.13
Undiscovered Future World--7.70
Wild by Design--9.38

There's an early morning Tusker House CB Bus???? I didn't know that. Where can I get more info? I was planning to take a taxi for my 8:30 Backstage Safari tour, but I rather use the bus.

Now wait just a gosh darn tuttin minute! I am innocent, innocent I tell you!:rotfl: I was just thinking it's funny the things that are important to us in a resort. Some people like the enclosed hallways of the deluxe, whereas I prefer the open walkways of a Value or Moderate. I love the buses, so staying on a monorail resort doesn't even interest me. I don't use the pools, so the pool amenities mean nothing to me. I seldom use the restaurant at my resort, so again those mean nothing to me. However, I do like the ceiling fans, covered bus stops, and the boats to DTD and, for this trip at least, was willing to pay the $222.00 to upgrade from my preferred room at AS Movies to POFQ to get them. Call me strange, but it was really the covered bus stops that made me switch.:confused3 Now the year I rented DVC points and stayed in a studio at BW was great. I spent most of my time that trip at Epcot for the Flower Festival and it was great being able to just walk over there. Seriously I think you'll love POFQ. I've stayed there a couple of times before and just love it. The CMs are all so great and so very friendly. If we both get back from the parks in time, maybe we can go hear the jazz musician over at the Scats Club and don't forget they have bignets in the food court. YUM!!!

All the parks that have character breakfasts have an early morning character bus to get the guests to them. If you call WDW dining they'll know nothing about them, but believe me they're there. I've used them for years. In fact we had an early morning breakfast almost every day when I was there in Sept and we used them. I've also used them for almost every tour I've taken. I've also used them just when I've wanted to get to the parks early to take some pictures. You are supposed to be there for the tours at least 15-30 minutes early I believe, so I'd be waiting at the bus stop by 7:15-7:30am. Believe me an AK bus will come along and what's great is they are always almost totally empty.

Hi Aubriee -

Bignets, ummmm - you are making my mouth water. I read a little about the food served in the food court and that definitely made my decision easier. I love cajun and creole food!

Going to Scats sounds like a great idea :thumbsup2

What are your travel dates - I'm there from 5/12 - 5/19.

No problem! Wish I could take the credit, but I found out about them here on the DIS.

I am such a goof! I meant to include everyone's name. I fixed it :thumbsup2

LOL - the next thing of course is to work out what clothes you're going to be taking ;)

You just had to go and spoil for me by talking about clothes :lmao:

Packing is my least favorite thing about traveling. The good news is that since it's just me, I will only have to pack 1/3 as much as I normally do.

I was thinking about packing everything into a carry on bag and doing :laundy: during the trip, but I doubt that I'll do that.

Since we are on the subject of ADR's, does anyone want me to add them to Adrian :lovestruc and Rich's ADR's? (See above) :goodvibes

Thanks Rich but based on my schedule I won't be able to join you and Adrian for your other ADRs.

When I see you on the 13th be sure to tell me what you had for lunch at the Brown Derby. The menu looks so good that I'm not sure what I'll order.

My dumb laptop ate my ADR list twice! See the previous post on Page 8 and let Adrian and I know if you want to join us .....

Schedule? What schedule? You're on vacation Angela! :rotfl: :hippie: :lmao: Just Kidding, sorry you can't make it, but we'll see you at Crystal Palace and LeCellier! :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

I was thinking the same thing....what to pack :confused3 I'll be there 12 days so I will be doing :laundy: half way during the trip....have to look good for the ADRs. :goodvibes

Yep...I'm on vacation I don't scheduled (except for tours and the ADRS). :lmao:

Glory Hallalujah Our unit at BLT will have a washer / dryer :laundy: :cool1:

I thought you guys were staying at the Wilderness Lodge.:confused3

By the way, are you going back in Sept for free dining? Mark and my mom say they're not going back this year, but they always say that, then change their minds at the last minute. I booked the bounceback offer last Sept when we were all there, but changed my dates last week to Sept 26th-Oct 4th. I think Kat and ANTS are going to be there the same week. That's not why I changed my dates though. I just decided I wanted to be there for the start of the Food & Wine Festival. YUM!! I'll probably also be going back in Dec. need to check for sure when POP Warner is there. I usually try to arrive the weekend they are leaving. lol

Actually we are both right Vanessa - We are staying in WL in May (Because it was already paid for before Adrian :lovestruc inherited the DVC.) We will be staying at BLT in December.

I don't think we are going to Hawaii this year after all :sad1:, so it's conceivable that we could go to WDW in September - I'll see what Adrian :lovestruc thinks.
